Should we stop all our transfer activity until Winter?

At least till we get a DoF and perhaps a new manager. Our transfer activities this window doesn't seem to be making much sense. I don't want this squad going further back with even worse addition.

The only player that I approve that we are interested in so far this window is De Jong.

 controversial but go on, it might not be a terrible idea. The signings are terribly misguided

We're basically fecked. We're forced into making subpar signings that could feck us for years to come. Other clubs have us by the balls with these results.

The window has been a complete disaster and there's no good way out of it.

Oh, and look who's back to WUM immediately after a bad defeat after disappearing for months... again. Change the record.

I mean Martinez today...£56m? Who taught that would be a good idea. I dont even see how he would fit into this team unless we play 3 in the back or at cdm...And we are interested in Arnatovic and rabiot? At the moment, I say we lock up all our fund and just develop some of our younger player and write of the season until we get a DoF and perhaps a new manager if things get even worse

Agreed, no panic signings. Get a DOF in and start planning for summer.

The issue clearly lies with the shit that's been here for seasons. Malacia will replace Shaw from now and Eriksen is a good signing. Martinez the jury is still out, but he was only really at fault for the Mee goal.

I'm not convinced at all that anybody will be coming anyway. Our team (both players and upper management) are neither proactive nor reactive. Why do we need to lose 2 Premier League games (both winnable) before we bring crucial players in?

Shit start to the season down to shit planning. We can't afford to wait around until the next window.

it's 2022 and we did not get one. We will never get one under these clowns.

We’re not going to get a DOF we spent over a year looking speaking to all the top guys and then decided we’d appoint Murtough. They’ve appointed him because he’s a yes man with no leverage, no profile and will be content working for this shitshow.

They’ve also seen what happened with RR, someone who is an actual DOF and no chance they’ll be appointing someone who might be similar.

I think the lack of signings is the problem. We have so many holes in the team we need to buy at least another 5 players to get to an even keel, 1 cb, 1 rb, 2 mf and a player for the forward line.

This. We're fecked. I'm expecting panic buys that'll be impossible to shift once Ten Hag gets the sack or resigns.

We’re forcing ourselves into making these signings though. We could have used the Martinez money & the FdJ money [if it exists] to supplement multiple signings of young players with room to improve but the club continues to tell itself it’s a few players away when in fact we should be selling a number of regulars & building for seasons to come.

Maybe we should hire the current PSG manager who actually knows how to do a job unlike the predecessor there.

Yeah we should definitely support the new manager as little as possible. That's the path forward here and anyone not realising this needs more foresight. We need to have more vision for the future. Maybe bring Laporta in so he can transform us like he has Barcelona?

I actually thought Martinez was fouled for that goal. He’ll be fine, he’s a very good player Martinez, but will need half a year or so to bed in. Thought Malacia was our best player when he came on. Miniature crumbs of comfort mind.

No, what we should do is spend 300M from now until the transfer window shuts.

St: Schick, Lautaro Martinez or Kaljadic
CM: Tielemans, de Jong/Nunes, Laimer
LW/RW: Nico Williams, Gakpo or Antony
RB: Aarons or Dest
GK: Unai Simon or Illan Meslier

Ideally

Schick
Sancho - Eriksen - Williams
de Jong - Laimer
Malacia - Martinez - Varane - Dest
Meslier
Yes it is completely unrealistic, and we won't do it, but we need to do something drastic. If we actually want to compete for top 4 we have to get it together, now.
