The caliber of actors in this show is insane. Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright put up a masterclass every time they're on screen. Thandie Newton too.

Season 4 is shaping up nicely

Thandie Newton stole the show from Dolores and it kinda works to show's advantage. Ed Harris as always classy act... I'm silently hoping now Nolan will help him get on upcoming Fallout series.

Facts. Thandie >

and I don’t think there’s an actor currently with more gravitas than Ed Harris

Is this show good again? Imo it turned to absolute shit after season one so I never bothered beyond season two.

Should I revisit?

Season 4 has been very good so far. Season 3 got back on track after a fairly rocky reason 2. (As well as having one of the best scenes in any tv show ever in one episode).

Season 3 Ep4 was once again proof that its choice of soundtrack is inspired.

First episode of the new season didn't grab me at all but the second and third have been excellent.

Episodes 1 and 2 were promising to be fair but episode 3 was all over the place and I was just staring numbly at the screen with zero interest of what was going on.
The actor of Caleb is doing a really bad job. I might do better than him :D

It's amazing the difference of opinions between episodes  I don't have a clue what's going on, but I think some people in here have less of an idea than me

What I know:

William is doing John Locke from Lost. He wants everything and he's kinda unstoppable. Predictable arc at first glance, but the show is really became a wild west itself.

Dolores seriously needs software update reverse. The show slowly comes to an end and she tries to write indie video game ? wtf.

That's not Dolores any more though, is it? Dolores is Charlotte now?

Conscience of Dolores is still somewhere there I think. Doubt Westworld or Rehobaum didn't stored a copy of her memories.

So far, I just can't imagine series ending event without her restoring herself to previous state.

I think this season is going back to its origins a bit more. Last season was a mess though it had some good moments here and there. Of course it's still repetitive cause it's the same kinds of twist but I don't mind too much. I like how it's tied everything together now, with Bernard and C, Maeve, Evil Dolores-Hale and Christina-Dolores. Hopefully the upward trend continues.

Thought Caleb or Maeve are the Neo of the the matrix, turns out it could be Bernard who was copied probably less times than the others, not to mention he kinda knows what's actually going on.

Charlotte was boring in season 3. This time she's Ford / Serac. Good for the show & her character.

Same here. It was absolute garbage in season 2 and 3 both. It's shocking the dip though, because season 1 was EXTREMELY high quality stuff. In season 2 I was just completely sucked out of my state of disbelief after the humans attacked the Stockade head on in wireframe buggies. Basically stopped believing the writers had any real intelligence or idea what they were doing after that. But the 'real world' just (again) felt stupid to me, maybe the later seasons have addressed things but the worldbuilding idea was TERRIBLE. I couldn't believe for a second that any 'response' to problems would be handled the way it was in the show, and if you're relying on your antagonists making absolutely ridiculous mistakes in order to give the main characters a chance you've got script problems. And it was annnoying because the potential really is there for something great, it's just a bit wasted.

Ok look I’m lost as Feck in this show. Can’t really remember S3 too well. So if you can just give me a quick rundown on who’s who, I'd appreciate it.

I remember that Charlotte is now the real Delores. So who is the other Delores character that’s living a normal life? I feel like that Ted talking to her is who knows what’s going on. And who are the people with Bernard and that woman. Is that Caleb daughter when she was little. So Bernard was in the future version. what a twist Episode this was. Was not expecting that to happe .

Some twist at the end of episode 4.....

I did call that the girl in the desert with Bernard was grown up Frankie though, although quite why Charlotte didnt expend any resources to find Maeves body is beyond me (assuming shes found in the same spot we last saw her with William)

Looking forward to this each week as opposed to watching just for completions sake. A rarity for me.

Is season 4 the last season or will there be more

Does feel like it will have to be quite a rushed ending to tie everything up in 4 more episode's
I’m sure the showrunners talked about having planned it to be 5 seasons around the time the first season came out.

Ed, who was great this episode, let it slip in an interview that they’ll start filming next spring though it has not been officially confirmed.

Such a borefest this episode 4. I just can't get my self excited at all what happens. It will all happen again next episode or next season. Maeve this, Hale that, Ed Harris there, Caleb here.

The twist definitely saved episode 4, was wondering when Westworld would do Westworldy things to us.

5 was good, too. Shame there are only 3 more to go.

Watched half of dynamite

Moxley matches are really hit and miss. Would enjoy the blood stuff more if it wasn't every week including non gimmick matches. It just takes away the impact.
Moxley promo after was really good though

So glad Starks is getting love. He's a pillar for AEW and I'm glad him and Hobbs will get some spotlight now. Starks defo deserves more promo time. He's great and showed that when he was rampage commentator.
Hook has been presented mostly well so far. They've built him similar to jade but on a lesser scale

I did laugh however seeing new titles were introduced
Trios matches need to take the blueprint from lucha underground. Those were great.
First hour was a lot of fun.
Wrong thread :D

Loving Season 4 so far. It's brought the mystery back into Westworld after the action snoozefest of Season 3. I'm hoping they delve into Hale's motivations a little more though because at the moment it's feeling a little flimsy. It doesn't help that Tessa Thompson is incredibly one-note with her performance this season (she wasn't before so feck knows why she is this year). Maybe I just don't like how cartoonishly villainous her character is. I get that she's Wyatt and in a constant loop for revenge but it's a bit tedious. Hopefully it turns out that Ford is still pulling strings somewhere, even digitally, otherwise she's just a poor antagonist which is weird for this show.

It's impossible to compete with Season 1 but for me the show feels like this;

S1
---
---
S4
---
S2
---
---
---
---
---
---
S3

Still waiting for the Youthquake
quite the culling last episode (though as aways with westworld who is really dead / alive)

I think in "the real world" (who knows anymore) stubbs is the last original host... caleb and MOB version whatever we are on are the only notable halores hosts and calebs kid the only notable human left (presuming OG MIB really is proper fore real dead for once).

Still not sure what the crack is with delores / christina?... other than shes apparently not real

I do wonder though with so many being taken out if there isnt going to be a bit more of a bloodbath next week and its actually the final episode as I dont believe season 5 has been confirmed yet.

If there is a season 5 I would guess it will have to be based around the sublime?

or knowing westworld they will just pop up with a dozen halores clones and decide the whole series has been some shared vr experience experience for them and fast forward a hundred years to arnold revelaing he was a host himself

I reckon Christina was the tower, but she thought she was living in the world, so imagined herself there.

Season 5 was always planned but not been announced, that'll be the final season if it gets greenlit.

Seems like they've ended season 4 with an "end" in a way incase season 5 doesn't come.
Yes as I say it felt very rushed ... would be a terrible ending if it is the end but given the actors involved and the scope of the show I suspect commiting to another season is a significant expense

I said after episode 7 it felt like the next episode might be the last ever and to be honest thats my gut feel - hope it gets renewed to give it a proper final series but the whole premise felt a little underwhelming (back in some imaginary version of the westworld park to run a test on delories memory of humans in the sublime)

Edit... If season 5 turns out to be a big loop and Delores figuring out that the original Westworld was all a simulation run by herself previously I hope they don't bother... But loops within loops is such a Westworldy way to go

Westworld hasn't been signed off for a 5th season, so the end could go either way...as it has been positioned.

Kind of a frustrating season finale, but can understand why they didn't this way.
I was actually really shocked to see how low the ratings are for this season in the US. 300k, down from 1.5 million in the first season. At the very least I hope HBO do a Deadwood style movie to cap it all off, but it looks like people have moved on from the show which is a shame because Season 4 seemed to be a lot better than Season 3.

Currently rewatching Season 1. My god it's so good
