Door open for both dealsShifting the De Jong money here perhaps?

Your post will look so silly when he turns 31
He’s a DM and isn’t being bought by United to build playHe's the best in the world with Kroos and Modric. Real's midfield is a perfect balance. Casemiro would be of very little help in building plays and has failed to impress with Brazil. I actually have a hard time remembering more than a couple of very good games with his NT in 7 years.
That being said, he's amazing at what he's doing with Real Madrid.
Yeah exactly. Not really sure what people want/expectSo we sign no one cause we don't have a strong and functional team? That's a bit backwards way of thinking isn't it? How do we improve without signing quality?
To be fair Fred is brilliant winning the ball further up the pitch.Ironically enough, Fred and him have provided a very balanced midfield partnership for Brazil over the last year or so
Casemiro, Fred, Eriksen is an interesting midfield - for about 18 months. Then all 3 are over 30 and we’ll be in this exact spot all over again. We need to invest in players that are 23-27 now so that next summer when we’re fixing the other gaping holes we still have, we aren’t plugging the same hole all over again.Ironically enough, Fred and him have provided a very balanced midfield partnership for Brazil over the last year or so
well we have no say in players that leave on a free.
Look at Fernandinho, the position is played mostly in the head and Casemiro is a very intelligent player.A five year contract for a 30 year old?
Real just won the CL with a midfield consisting of 36, 32 and 30 year olds. Believe.Casemiro, Fred, Eriksen is an interesting midfield - for about 18 months. That said, we are where we are. He’s a good player and we don’t have any of those. I’m just so pissed at the lack of long term planning.
You're just a shite Peter Kenyon, a shite Peter Kenyon!Tweet

Years? How can you say years? It became real in the final year and tbh he's a bag of shit anywayWell that's not true. The club had years to sort, sell or replace him.
The did none of those things
Huh? He just turned 30 this year. Even if you were rounding off, I'd think 35 is closer.Signing a 5ft 6 nearly 40 year player. I don't think his wife fancies Manchester. Giving me Di Maria vibes.
Think I've covered most things there.
Chelsea did that with Makalele.A five year contract for a 30 year old?
If Modric played for us his legs would’ve gone at 32. Just seems to be the way things have gone for us lately.Real just won the CL with a midfield consisting of 36, 32 and 30 year olds. Believe.
Classic United. We think (debatable) short-term while we should be thinking long term.Casemiro, Fred, Eriksen is an interesting midfield - for about 18 months. My initial instinct from today is that we don't know what we are doing so I will try to dampen my scepticism.Look at Fernandinho, the position is played mostly in the head and Casemiro is a very intelligent player.
Also think of it as accepting a price for him and amortising that over 5 years rather than the 3 you expect him to be at his peak.
No sh*t Sherlock. Do you think united's midfield (and at pretty much any position) has enough quality on the ball to afford spending a huge amount of cash on such a profile? He’s a DM and isn’t being bought by United to build play
Liverpool's midfield was just workhorse players before they got the likes of Thiago, Keita etcHonestly the more I think about it, the more this makes sense. Casemiro, CE and Bruno against smaller teams. Casemiro, Fred and CE against the bigger teams (bruno off the left). It could actually work really well and at least for a little bit paper over the need for a DLP.
Was he that old? I always thought he was late 20's. Fair enough.Chelsea did that with Makalele.
Yup, born in 1973 and Chelsea signed him in 2003.Was he that old? I always thought he was late 20's. Fair enough.
I know I'm just winding as the usual responses seem to be age/height related these days.Huh? He just turned 30 this year. Even if you were rounding off, I'd think 35 is closer.
What, you expected us to outcompete Real Madrid? Why the hell did United not go after Tchoumeni? 22 years old.
Instead they are trying to ruin our team.
Unsure why you make the point then? It’s totally irrelevant to the discussion. No sh*t Sherlock. Do you think united's midfield (and at pretty much any position) has enough quality on the ball to afford spending a huge amount of cash on such a profile?
He's pretty much the opposite of De Jong, who was allegedly ETH dream signing. If United sign him, you can kiss goodbye to your coach as well because it clearly wont suit what he wants to set up.
Fernandinho signed for Citeh from Ukraine at 28 and was a starter on title winning squads until 37 years oldBusquets is 34 and he's been decent last few years starting 40 games/season.
We did, he wanted Real. Why the hell did United not go after Tchoumeni? 22 years old.
