I saw a few links in the transfer tweets where the reporters mentioned he is not planning to leave Madrid. Do you have nay where he says he absolutely wants to come?
Well there are reports on this page about him telling his teammates he sees himself in Manchester. That doesnt mean he absolutely wants to come nor that the reports are true but certainly doesnt mean he really doesnt want to come as you put it.

Caicedo would likely cost the same amount of money.

So you think Moises Caicedo from Ecuador > Casemiro.
Absolutely it would be the right way to go. We need to build, it's not going to happen overnight.

Many sources say he is considering it. Ancelotti even sat down with him and told him he can go if he wants, he's earned that right. There is always the possibility that he's angling for a new contract, but seeing as he just signed one last year, and really has achieved all he can, it's not a remote possibility that he's tempted to come to the PL.
ok, My bad I didnt see these. I assumed it would be feed to support our decision to move for Casemiro in the last min. I hope it is true and that's the real reason.

Long-term plans mean nothing if you don't hit your short-term goals along the way.

You're bottom of the league mate, time to start worrying about this season rather than 3 or 4 years time.
Totally agree. We are proper shit at the moment and it’s 95% caused by being porous in midfield. I can’t be fecked with another three years of signing solid young prospects (most of them won’t come here anyway).

This guy could be in red scoring a last minute winner against Liverpool in a FA Cup final and people would still deny it

Because he will likely phone it and see it as just his last big pay day, same when players go to America, Saudi or china
He is only 30, not 35. Just some months ago he was best player in CL final against Liverpool.

Ah, and now he wants to try a bike where the wheels are constantly falling off... Make sense.
How will the wheels stay on and the bike move seamlessly if we don’t sign the best again? We need players like this to get back to the top and unlike fans who just watch, players love a challenge and at this stage of his career, just like Varane, what better challenge than come and help a giant of a club like Manchester United back to the top.

Exactly. People just don't get the obvious at times.

Happiest guy if this happens. Casemiro and Fred playing together for 3-3.5 months before the World Cup

It's that type of thinking that's got us into this exact position.

With Casemiro at the base and Fernandes at the peak we could alternate between Eriksen and Fred depending on the tactics for that game. McTominay as a back up for injuries.

We need both long term and quality short term signings, we are in too deep of a shit to only sign "promising" players.
Absolutely. Nothing I have said disputes this fact. Do you see other top clubs making this type of signing? He is a great player, at 30, has already won everything there is to win, and will only leave because Real have a plan with Camavinga / Toucahmeni and his game time will be limited.

Just seems like another Matic situation, were we should have gone for the younger version at the time i.e. Kante, instead we did Chelsea a favour, and need to spend again so soon after. We need to be smarter with our recruitment, we really do.

If only we hadn't spent eons chasing that tosser De Jong we could've done this much earlier to our benefit

Feck it.. I get that he would be on huge wages and probably will cost a bomb in transfer fees, but hell with it.. let's go for him.. he would be the best midfielder in the team instantly and Ten Hag can surely fit him into his tactics, since Casemiro posses qualities coaches dream of...

I'm all in, even though I'm not sure we can trust these reports from Spain claiming "it's very very hot"

Other clubs making this type of signing? Do you mean older players? Bayern, Barca and Juventus spring to mind.

Him and De Jong is a dream midfield
Just Casemiro and someone who can keep possession but also find those killer passes would be great. They don't have to cost the earth either because no way we can afford both of them.

For Madrid, I think they see him as an exemplary servant of the club and if he wants out, they won't stand in his way out of respect and also for the fact that they have excellent young core of midfielders in Valverde, Camavinga & Tchouameni
