Love it! To be honest, as soon as I saw that clip of him twatting Robertson for his tackle on Benzema, I was in. Finally, we may potentially have somebody with a bit of bite, first time since Keano! Probably end up captain.
He'll get the armband off of Harry within a year if he joins I'm certain.

Proper leader and destroyer in midfield

A player in his 30s that has won everything coming to a club in desperate need willing to write him a blank cheque… where have I heard this one before…

Oh yes, so we move from Di Maria vibes to Schweinsteiger vibes.
Di Maria was 26.

The only thing I would say (I made that argument against the grain in regards to Di Maria, Sanchez etc etc), Casemiro seems like he's still good physically and he has a lot of fight about him. He's not comparable in terms of personality as I don't think he'd be happy to be shown up on the pitch, regardless of the money he's earning.

No, but he is the world-class DCM that we have been needing for 10 years.

The problem is, we still need creativity in the middle. I wonder if he'll sit at the base of a 433 with Bruno and Eriksen as the 8's.
And will be needing again in a few years as he is already 30 years and 6 months old. Also have we literally not learned what has already happened with us paying over inflated wages to those that are not coming to the club for the right reasons, it has always been recipe for disaster and we may as well not have even bothered recruiting ten hag of we are going to keep repeating the same recruiting screw ups

Using United to get a better contract at Real is a tale as old as time

Surely we won't fall for it again
Hopefully not this time. At this stage of the window we can't afford it. Him signing or not (especially if backed up with others) will probably define our season. Either we'll get a boost in quality and fight, or it'll be another mugging off and we'll be flat as a pancake from here on out.

His contract was renewed just last year and Real have spent the better part of the last 2 years getting their wage structure in order, they won't be giving him another raise especially after signing 2 young midfield talents over the last 2 summers...

Crazy money for a 30 year old midfielder that's just been replaced by Tchouameni and Camavinga. Doing Real Madrid a massive favour here, he'll be half the price in a year's time. Just spend it on Caicedo.
I would much rather do this as at least he loves united and would see us as a step up compared to casemiro who will be taking a step down for purely a financial gain in what he probably sees as his last big contract in football

My brain genuinely can’t wrap the fact that we could have Casemiro, Varane and Ronaldo in our team.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan

30 isn't old. If you want us to get the best players in the world in, we have to pay the money. We are not good enough to attract these players otherwise.

We have zero evidence in regards to his ability being in decline. If he comes just enjoy having a world-class DCM once again.

One poster yesterday said Casemiro is 30 and half decade old.

And still be bottom of the league

Imagine telling us that a few years ago.

If he joins I think we'll finally get a tune out of Fred. They play brilliantly together for Brazil and keep Fabinho out of the team.

Dream signing. An elite dm at the top of his game is exactly what we need to transform our midfield for next 4-5 years and provide a stable platform to grow and blood the promising youngsters.

Don’t care what he costs.

The bit where he tackled so well that Messi slipped himself up has made my day.

Could this actually happen? I've no doubt that we'll still need someone to partner him because playing in that Real Madrid midfield isn't anything like playing in ours, but he's one hell of a player. I'm worried about the wages being involved but if that's what it takes to get one of the best DMs around who is still at his peak then we have to take it.

Can only assume those not wanting us to sign Casemiro haven't watched the games against Brighton and Brentford.

Yes, he is 30 but we are a total mess. If we are signing players for the future we still needs winners and leaders like Casemiro in the short term to help. And short term being 3 years would still be an excellent return.

We paid 50m for AWB and 80m for Maguire. We shouldn't think twice about buying this lad. We need him more than FDJ.

We've got a player he's already quite used to and comfortable partnering in midfield with on the books

How did he do in the CL Final against Liverpool? As boring as that game was, I don’t remember too many issues with the Real midfield in stopping Liverpool.
I specifically remember him having an average to poor first half and then a mega second one. Was intercepting and blocking everything in the second half
