Morgan Gibbs White going to Forest for £44m

United looking to sign Casemiro for £59m
Letting a younger, hungrier, and most importantly English midfield talent go for cheaper than this overrated forriner. EMbarrassing!

if I'm not mistaken our wage bill pre Ronaldo was actually lower than the likes of Liverpool for example. We should be capable of paying big money for Casemiro when you consider we have let go of a lot of big wage stars and will likely let go of Ronaldo on top.

Casemiro isn't a Rabiot Christmas stocking player, he would be part of a spine for Ten Hag that is absolutely integral for the system. I think Martinez - Casemiro - Eriksen is a fantastic vertical spine, just need the striker but that can wait for now.
Dembele on deadline day maybe?

Here’s why Casemiro would be a very smart piece of business :

1. He’s elite, top level player who still has a few years of high athleticism plays in him

2. He’s press resistant for the most part and links up well with more advancing midfielders

3. Fred-Casemiro play very well together for Brazil. They know each other’s games inside out and this will be an additional option when you need pressing midfielders in front of the defence

4. He and Varane know each other very well and that helps transitioning out of defence too

5. Lastly, he is the closest thing to Keane since… Keane. We desperately need a destroyer and Casemiro is that with a nice touch.

Added plus: he remains largely injury free in most seasons.

A smart club would probably get this done and then commence scouting a 17-19 year old who cost peanuts but with the potential to replace him in 3-4 years.

Does he play alongside Fred for Brazil? If so it definitely means he will line up with bloody McTominay!

Whenever I watch Madrid, he gets a lot of help from Modric in terms of ball progression when under pressure. Tbf it's the same with Fabinho & Thiago.

Question who can be our Thiago to come back and help

Agreed. I think he'll end up playing the role Alvarez did in Ten Hag's tactical system. The question is do we have a Gravenberch to help get the ball up the field? Maybe Fred will finally come good? Maybe Eriksen can manage our ball progression, in a different way to Gravenberch, it if he's got a powerful #6 like Casemiro besides him?

This is how every transfer should be (hopefully). Transfer is made within 100 pages, not 1500 or whatever FDJ is on.

think he’ll give two great years before the physical decline becomes evident, still need another cm, can’t disrespect him with the risk of McT alongside him.

Its done folks, he’s coming.
Didn’t take 10000 pages of nonsense like the Frenkie saga either, happy days lads.
He’s a great player.

Fred looks far far better when he is applying pressure higher up the pitch so Casemiro frees him up to do his thing. He's actually quite good at one touch short passes and triangles.
Thats not going to help when he still keep giving the ball away on simple passes and refuses to commit a tactical foul when the opposition counters. The premier league is unforgiving unlike international football.
