    There's only one United!
I wish it so much that Erik unleashes Garnacho on Liverpool and he does a Martial debut against them.

Fabinho and Vvd will be their biggest threats on set pieces but apart from that, Gomez isn’t extremely tall is he? Should be alright. Dalot and Varane are tall enough to deal with them. It’s more pace in behind. Don’t even know how to feel about this game right now and don’t expect us to get a result but who knows.

Bruno needs to be moved to the left or the bench. He has been atrocious. Didn't even look good in pre-season.

I'm hoping for 5 at the back, but it doesn't look likely with the reported pairing of Varane - Martinez during training.

For midfield, Eriksen, McT, and VdB/Garner.
We need a bit physicality in the middle, so McT will start over Fred for me.

That I agree - but i rather hope that he just goes long all game as opposed to trying to pass it short to Erikson who is being pressed.

If we concede another goal like that tonight - you really have to get rid of DDG pronto.

Unfortunately, even as I write this - i dread that this is exactly what will happen. We will be pressed in our own third, lose the ball, and then concede an easy goal

Even if it does not happen in the first 20-30 mins, it will happen sooner rather than later. Our players will forget instructions and revert to type.
Agreed. We can either go long or get butchered within the first 10 minutes.

I know Ronaldo wants away but I hope ETH has not dropped him, he is still our best player & we need him on the pitch from the kick-off, Martial has done sod all for over two years.

    That would be unfortunate.

No matter how ETH sets us up, we're likely to be defeated by what will surely be, barring injuries during their warmup, the vastly better side. So perhaps ETH could throw McFred into the pit so the entire planet -- this is one of the most watched sporting matches on the planet, in any sport, every years -- can see for themselves what a disaster they are. But I don't think that will happen.

With Casemito not eligible today, we don't have a proven CDM. We have Garner, but he's not proven at this level. There are no good answers for today, but there are less bad answers. We can either have a go at Liverpool, come what may (such as a 0-5 final score), or we can flood the back with bodies and hit on the counter. I suggest the latter. As shit as Rashford has been the last two seasons the one thing he still has is pace. I'd hate to bench Ronaldo but if he really is the cancer in the squad that's been reported then he needs to be benched.

    De Gea
    Dalot Maguire Varane Martinez Malacia
    VDB Eriksen
    Bruno
    Rashford Martial

This may be a bit too Ole or even Jose for our liking, but today is a chaotic day, the opponent is a cornered animal, and the players we have right now are not adaptable to how ETH wants to set us up. Avoiding humiliation and stealing a point off this Liverpool side would be a job well done.
VDB and Eriksen in front of the defence would get murdered.

Anyhow, Maguire is dropped so won’t see that lineup.

No he is not, Martial is in better form that carries from pre-season plus he is more fit. Bench is where Ronaldo belongs.

If ten Hag is ''mixing'' up the midfield, that can only mean Van de Beek should get his chance after having a couple of decent cameo's. Question is, will he play deep, though? I'd personally play him as a 10, then I'd keep the pivot that finished against Brentford.

    Van de Beek
    Eriksen - McTominay
That said, there's been a lot of talk this week saying Van de Beek an McTominay have been training together, so it could also be those two deep, with Eriksen or Bruno ahead. Either way, we will need to match their work rate and really get stuck into them, just as Fulham did in their first game.

Be a big statement by ten Hag to drop Ronaldo, Maguire and Bruno, but others deserve a chance.

Looks like he is dropped , Sky Sports news had some breaking team news frm Old trafford but then their feed to the reporter at OT failed. But it looks like both Maguire and Ronaldo dropped.

Don’t need physical defenders in this game, but defenders and midfielders who are press resistant.

Most likely going to be a hammering but i'm still amped up for this one. Don't know why. All I want is for us to show fight. Just show some fight and i'm happy.

    Iqbal or Hannibal

Obviously this is not the game to introduce the likes of any of those, but they are teasing a major shake up!

Our options in midfield are not abundant, but your point is well taken. But that's why I suggest a back 3 and eat our pride.

We've read of rumors of Harry being dropped, but is that now official?

So Martial plays ok in a couple of meaningless friendlies & all of sudden he is a better player than Ronaldo, yeah, right, maybe he should have shown that on the pitch for the past two years.

And maybe Ronaldo should have had a pre-season and showed anything useful previous games instead of looking to feck off out of the club.

I think in this game you'll need some physicality in midfield. Not sure who they will start but the likes of Thiago, Henderson, Fabinho will put themselves about.

Looks like Ten Hag might just drop Bruno and play a Fred, Mctomminay and Erikson midfield.

Bruno needs a reality check as well.

I will be happier if we see any one of Iqbal, Savage or Garner - but that is very unlikely to happen!
    Who’s he?

    They are missing

    Joel Matip Groin injury
    Thiago Hamstring strain
    Ibrahima Konate Knock
    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Hamstring strain
    Diogo Jota Hamstring strain
    Darwin Nunez Straight red card

    Not bad!
But we are missing character, determination, passion, confidence, drive and good players

A lot of players played bad in the first two games even with pre-season games under their belt, Ronaldo is still our best player & much better than Martial.
