Antony and a back up GK done this week. Still think we’ll get a RB or Frenkie or both on deadline day too

So he submitted a transfer request to move here. Hope he doesn't do the same when he fancy some sunshine in Spain few years down the road.

So what shirt number is he getting then? No.11?

Because that guys not coming back. That guy is definitely not getting registered for this season so I say that shirt is technically vacant.

Done deal. I do think we’re massively overpaying, but would be lying if i’m not uber-excited about it because we haven’t had a winger that takes people on and has flair/arrogant skill in a long time. Plus he’s left footed !!!

Not watched him play loads but is he really worth this outlay? Some first hand info from Ajax fans will help.
Is he a 90 million euro player? Probably not. Is his contributions to Ajax and Ten Hag's faith in him worth 90 million euros.... Seems so.

It's similar to so many other transfers. Grealish isn't a £100 million player, but his contributions and worth to Aston Villa, that was the price.

I was just thinking the same, as obvious as it was, this is further confirmation that the club will not entertain the idea. Another left footed right winger…

We wouldn’t give up his shirt number until he’s officially sacked though I wouldn’t have thought. Although I’d love for that to happen

This is very good news. We will finally have a left-footed winger of high quality, it is of huge importance for our attacking threat.

I haven't been this excited about a player joining in a really long time. I just love these kind of flair players. If he eventually consistently performs anything close to an in form Nani, the transfer fee would be worthwhile.

Now we at least have rotation options:
RW: Antony, Sancho, Elanga(?)
LW: Sancho, Rashford, Elanga, Garnacho

Yeah fair enough.

What is the view of United from within Ajax? Are we still mates?:)
Why not? We play eredivisie, we know our place. Inevitable players leave and if they leave not when we originally planned but then end up selling over marketvalue and we have a replacement it is all fine.

I love watching the PL and will follow United with great interest and hope you do well. (But won't cry myself to sleep if you don't).

Will be very happy when the transferwindow is over though. Downside of transfers like this is it exposes a lot of toxic "fans", who constant need the confirmation that United is such a big club, especially on Twitter.

If we get near 100m for him and replace him with Ziyech it will be seen here as a magnificent transfer window. We all expected to have a transition year losing so many players but it looks like we actually might be competitive this year.

Crazy money and unless Casemiro can single handedly change this midfield I'm not sure what he's going to be able to do in those typical games United struggle with. At least Erik gets one of his main guys.

I wonder who'll be dropped to accommodate Antony.
It is likely Sancho and Antony will on average be starting 2 games out of 3 each, with Sancho on various flanks. Rashford to be a first sub and sometimes starter on the left

Who would be first choice up front is perhaps the more interesting question

Rashford most likely. But think between Rashord, Sancho, Antony and Martial they’ll all get significant gametime unless one or more realllly cements his/their position in the starting lineup.

He's a good player with great potential but the money we're trying to pay for him is insane .

I just hope he has the mentality to not be burdened by such a hefty amount as its going to be held over his head like a dark ominous cloud.

As it stands we seem to be going to break Eredivisie's transfer record, hopefully we don't regret it.

ETH requires a lot of intensity, rotation will be key. So perhaps even “first subs” will start 35% of the games with coming off the bench in others (very significant involvement).
