Xavi has to play that ball straight away. Took to long to play it, closed out the angle for Gakpo and gave the keeper a chance.

I don't get the negativity here, he missed a good chance but his first touch, decision making and movement is a lot better than Rashfords from what I've seen so far. His teammates just aren't on the same page.

I have only tuned in for the second half though.

Just based on this match alone, he is so lazy off the ball and nothing special on the ball.

You think Rashford wouldn't have more of an impact vs Rangers over two legs?

Pathetic display from him. I'm officially off this bandwagon. Looks completely disinterested.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
He’s been very good taking the ball between the lines and turning - standing inside allowing the fullback freedom outside. Rarely gives the ball away, should have scored twice and had an assist. Don’t think he’s been quite as shit as this place is making out.

Not going by tonights performance, but I don't really see why we need another prospect winger of that level when we could battle it out between Garnacho, Pellistri and Amad.
Gakpo is not levels above them, I'd rather give our own players a chance to perform.

I'm trying to figure out what his position on the pitch is supposed to be. He seems to be all over. Sometimes he drops super deep, next moment he is in the center, then on the left. But is never really involved in the game. Just drifts around the pitch.

Oh really? Surprised to hear that. I could swear I hear Dutch commentators using that throaty 'H' sound all the time. A bit like how the Scousers pronounce the hard 'C' sound. I've heard them say 'H-akpo' too. Might just be how it sounds to the ears. But yeah, Gakpo is the G sound.
What's throaty about the H? If you say hell or heaven or hue or hound there's nothing throaty about it is there? The G is definitely throaty yeah, at least it is in Dutch. Different languages different pronunciations I guess. Gakpo is with a throaty G and a hard k so gak-po and not hack-po.

This is almost impossible to resolve through text

Not good enough, we're United Ffs. A potential United player should be tearing it up against this kind of opposition.

He is a good player though, very composed, can create space for himself and others, is willing to pass.

Had a poor game but still looks far better than Rashford and Elanga.
He’s not better than an in form Rashford, yep Marcus has been garbage for 18 months but if he gets his form back, the form that got big goals in Europa league semi finals and hatricks in champions league games, Marcus at 24/25 should be coming hood this year with a good coach like ETH, Gakpo is miles better than Elanga

Agreed! Also, we don’t need another LW, we need a no. 9!
He hasn’t shown anything to me today

Go check Rashford record in big fixtures so you remember what I'm talking about.
City, Chelsea, Liverpool, PSG.
You'll understand me better.
And what's that got to do with Gakpo ?

Look at Rashford's recent record against Brentford and Brighton ?

He wont get that form back because it needed a level of agility and athleticism that he just doesnt have any more.

Thought he was decent tbh, definitely not as bad as some on here are suggesting. Had a couple decent chances to score and created a couple decent chances. It definitely didn't help that PSV as a whole were shocking. PSV going out might have taken the price down slightly if we are genuinely interested.

Never been that impressed anytime I have seen him , just does not look premiership level.

You have to trust and back ETH if he really wants him but I would be skeptical enough he can offer us anything we don't already have.

A big fat no from me. Can't dribble, poor in tight spaces.
