Ten Hag's comments about Martial reinforce my belief that he can be a good option.

This stinks of Mendes propaganda.
No way are we spending 100+ mill on one player in January.

My understanding is EtH wants a more physical striker. Felix, in my opinion, is more of a technical player and I would think more suited to the number 10 role.

He is deceptive. From what I have seen with Portugal or Atletico, he is a striker and not really suited to the 10 role, his technical level makes him look like it but he is best in and around the box. In that sense he is fairly close to a Martial. And other thing he isn't small, iirc he is around 1.80 and doesn't really acts like a lightweight.

Fair enough. I have only watched him for Portugal and at times for Atletico.

I personally think Joao Felix would be an ideal 9 for ETH. He seems to prefer a fluid front 3 and Felix is insanely good at receiving the ball with his back to goal and progressing the ball forward as well as linking with the front line and midfield. He's also a very underrated finisher imo and the main issue I see with him at Athletico is he isn't a good fit for Simeone's style of play.

As long it's a 18 month loan with an obligation to buy for 50-60m , we are fine. If they want to put a 100m price, then it should be an option to buy which will only become mandatory if he performs that well.

Either way, it has to be a loan to begin with.

What's happened to him and Dortmund? I remember him being talked about a few years ago as being a sure thing, things gone sour?
No, they haven’t. His contract is due to expire soon though.

What happened is that he's played well enough to earn a World Cup call up for Germany at 17

Who said that is his price?
Well he cost 120 mill iirc. He also signed a 7 year contract. I don't think Atletico are going to give us a cut price deal just because he's not in Simeone's plans.

People don’t buy 120m players for resale value.

I dunno. Player wants out, Simeone seemingly doesn't rate him. I'm sure a good deal could be made if he actually wanted to come to United. 60-70 mil would be good for all parties

If he is a genuine target for us, then I see no reason why we would not try to get him in January already.

Lovely player, but would still be a huge gamble.

I don't know, do we really want him?
I do. He'd be my number 1 target. He is a slightly muppety / Woodwardy gamble. I just like watching him play. Think theres good arguments as to how he could work well too though.

If we are getting rid of Ronnie in Jan then it could be a good move to offer Sancho in a swap deal for Felix.
We would be getting about 900k off the wage bill and we would be bringing in a central player for a winger (a position we have options in already) so that could suit both parties.

IIRC about 6 goals a season for last 3 years? I hope the club knows what they are doing. I am in for whoever ETH wants to be honest.
