We are finding out how much we miss Dalot. As well as how badly the Wan-Bissaka situation needs sorting. A bit cursed that even Brandon Williams is out.

Elanga really isn't doing much at right wing either. Antony and Sancho both being out is a problem. Can see McTominay coming on for Elanga and Bruno, sadly, going to the right...

Martial is doing everything what we were missing this year. Gets deep to get a ball and then quickly passing on to wings.
Also he is doing quick one-twos around penalty box which created us two chances.

Having said that, i didn't expect that he will miss 3 chances. At least one of those should have been a goal

Poor half but we could've scored 3 easily. We have our best 3 midfielders and a lot of pace upfront, so I'm not sure why we're pinned in our half most of the time.

ETH will probably take Martial off around the 60 min mark and bring Garnacho on, but I wonder if throwing him on the right is worth trying, probably won't happen seeing as Malacia has been really shaky.
It's mainly because our central midfielders don't have much to work with with our attackers.

A bit meh game, we had a few good chances but struggle to move the ball smoothly. It's all very erratic.

Clearly Bruno has been working with the team on finding teammates with low Crosses on back post.

Done well to be ahead, but we've pretty much reverted back to Oleball. Cede possession and counter. Cross behind in the free space and pray. Interesting enough the goal didn't come from either. I'm not seeing the fabled press. That right side is brutal. Dalot is severely missed.

This will be a long 45 minutes.

Ok first half. We need to be better on our right side. I see that we leave to much open spaces there. However, we deserve our lead.

We are playing a 433. Seems like ETH was previously scared to use this with CR7 due to his poor pressing.
Despite thier good involvements, I think Bruno and Eriksen will need some time to adapt to that change in formation, its affecting our shape defensively, which is why we are allowing Fulham time with the ball.
What's quite clear is that we are ok with getting the quick attack, more interested in exploiting spaces. Ajax under ETH played a lot of long balls. Us being structurally solid enough to win the ball back quickly is what will lead to dominant performances using this formation.

With the 4231, Bruno's pressing ensured we could have those games where we are winning balls back quickly. However, my thinking is that ETH doesn't feel that is sustainable, since he's really had to press like a mad man. This way, Eriksen is better supported and gets those opportunities to attack, whilst not being tasked with as much defensively. Think the Villa game last week was also responsible for this too.

We kept over hitting the ball over the top v Villa in the cup as well. Very frustrating until it’s not

Yeah Martinez has been good as well, forgot to include him. Victor has been fine, especially considering how poor Malacia is holding Willian down.

My point was more about Lindelof has not been stand out at all. After Elanga and Malacia, who have been easily the worse performing players, I would say Lindelof has been the least involved for us apart from a couple of decent defensive interactions. Not horrible but far from stand out.

Yeah it's like night and day with the diva. And he knows how to press too. We should have scored at least two goals from our high pressing today alone.

All the craze about the new signings and it's clear to see who's the real MVP, it's Bruno. Bruno haters are the most confusing bunch.

Malacia is awful today. Due to which Casemiro is being pulled to that side which creates lot of space in front of defence. Eriksen is too weak to do the defending job. We probably need McT or Fred to cover that space.

Look awful down the right. Massively need to improve that in the transfer window. I even think diallo would be better then Elanga.

Elanga — Will not be super popular, but he gets involved, takes many offensive runs, have had a couple of great defensive plays. Have fumbled possession of the ball what 3-4 times. It’s way too much, he obviously lacks a little confidence. Think he has earned a goal, could give him a little boost.

Malacia — Malacia has been challenged plenty by Williams, Fulham comes down that side all the time. I like Malacia at RB, but he has been fighting it a bit the first 45 min.

Casemiro — My MoM after the first 45. Finally we have a CDM. Finally.

Lindelof — Is low-key one of the bigger positives of this season. He plays well, think ETH is content with him. But he is also adjusting to ETHs style.

De Gea — I love De Gea and I agree with everyone that it’s probably not the right priority for this team to spend 60-70m on a GK right now. BUT, the top quality in his ball distribution isn’t there. That pass to Elanga wasn’t good, super hard and bouncing, he had a pass to Casemiro that wasn’t good, he threw the ball long once and it wasn’t good.

Not buying a right back in the summer was negligence.

Everything the club does in the market is half-arsed. It’s why we play catch up every window instead of actually trying to get ahead.

surely if we spend another 45 mins playing balls over the top one will come off right ?

i’m not really enjoying the casemiro eriksen midfield. they’re both a bit slow and easy to press. need somebody who can carry the ball in midfield.

Scored one goal, conceded no goal. Result : improved goal difference?
The problem is we’ve had 3/4 chances we haven’t taken . That GD will be worth an extra point to whoever we’re battling with for 3rd/4th at the end of the season.

Think Garnarcho would terrify the Fulham defence. Guess the only thing is to move Rash to the right and get him on but who knows.
