Fecking hate Rio and Keane backing Ronaldo. Bunch of sycophantic yes men.

Rooney is the only one among his former team mates to actually speak some sense. He's a good lad rest can feck right off.

Have any articles / quotes? Keen to see what they said. Mental to be backing Ronaldo at this stage.

He is totally bang on about our facilities not being good enough for an elite team, however you don't go in on the manager and say you have no respect for him because that's out of order.
Just facilities? The whole way the club is run. That's why you are lagging behind other top European clubs.

What he said about the manager is unacceptable and I'm portuguese Ronaldo fan.

ETH handled the whole Ronaldo situation brilliantly I must say. If it end with us getting a new striker in Jan it's a masterclass.
100%.

He completely dethronized Ronaldo and Maguire without creating any animals (except maybe Ronaldo and Maguire).

What is ETH accused of now? Respecting Ronaldo — too much — for giving him the C vs Villa. ETH is a card player, now doubt.

Would have loved to see how Jose would've handled this.

I hate the man, but it would've been an absolute shitshow over the world cup break with Ronaldo and Mourinho slinging shit at each other on every avialable interview.
I think it's a brilliant idea. Now if Elon Musk can offer to pay half his wages and another company the other half, if he can play for Roma? It's prime time television and twitter. If also they agree to appoint Trump as an honorary Chairman?

You could try, but he might leave the stadium at half time if you don't start him
The problem for me is that I can see him moving to Sporting and we have a no nonsense manager as well. It will be problematic.

Regarding the national team, he probably thinks he can play till WC 2030 and that we owe him that.

To be fair I don't care about all this, I just can't get over the fact that he likes Piers Morgan. Not even him moving to Benfica would upset me more.

I'm not sure about the law suit, but surely the club can terminate his contract and remove him from the payroll. Players are not free to do whatever they want. I'm sure that this is a serious breach of his contract.
I am not sure that legally he did something wrong. Especially something based on which we can sack him

Apologies, I haven't watched it all and Rio's constant defense of Ronaldo annoys me but (without context) I think in general this point is true and has always been the case. Fergie did it a lot himself. There is leeway with certain players

Ronaldo was one of those and if he played the part of a Giggs, Scholes or what Ibra has at Milan then yes. But he still thinks he is 27. His behaviour has meant he doesn't deserve special treatment
This is why this whole thing is so bizarre. If Ronaldo was posting Haaland numbers and playing out his skin, these kind of comments would have some weight (there’d be a legitimate argument that he is too good a player for a club who aren’t in the CL) but as it stands he’s not even good enough to be our second choice sub striker. On pure footballing ability (i.e. ignoring the revenue he generates through him being a global brand) I don’t think he’d start for a single PL club.

Very very sad situation, but this ill-advised (for both sides) move was always going to end in tears. It’s not the club’s fault no CL qualified team wanted him in the summer. ETH looks to have treated him well. Staggeringly unprofessional behaviour from the player.

Surely he wouldn’t burn his bridges like this without having something lined up, though. I predict that after the WC he’ll announce he’s taking time off to be with family and then join an MLS team for next season. Miami would be right up his street and the US looks his best option because after this outburst no European manager would want to work with him. He’s not worth the risk.

He’d be much better off retiring IMO. He’s nowhere near the player he once was and at this point he’s just damaging his legacy. What a shame.
I don't think he can go to the States because of his legal case.

Ronaldo is right about a lot of things… until what’s been happening this season. And in this season when a new manager has tried his best to make do with what he has and make United competitive, Ronaldo was sitting at home missing preseason or stropping off as United absolutely battered Conte’s Tottenham. He is done. I am done with him too. He doesn’t care as much about the club as he seems to say. He cares about himself and his giant ego. I will stand by ETH. Thank you for all you’ve done Ronnie. But this is unforgivable.

I guess its literally the first time a manager has dared to bench him or bring him on as a late sub.

Not since he was a teenager has this happened.

He knows its the beginning of the end if he stays here and doesn't start. Seems he is desperate to find a club that will give him an unchallenged spot in the first eleven.

I feel like a smart club would have things like this set out in the contracts as a breach.
I'm sure there will be specific clauses in any players contract that says they must act however way the clause states (ie. general employment rules of what behaviour is expected of any employee - perhaps more so of a professional sportsman) - Ronaldo broke the rules 3 odd weeks ago and got fined 2 weeks wages. I'm sure they'll do the same this time, if not more.

These are his PL goal scoring stats for last season. Yes he got goals, but they were often in twos or threes and with big gaps in between where he didn't score. I am sick of pundits bringing up his goal scoring record for last season. He is paid that wage to get more goals than he actually did. You expect 30 goals for that sort of money. https://www.worldfootball.net/playe...premier-league-2021-2022/manchester-united/3/

Yeah it feels like Ronaldo had a plan to do this after the Brentford defeat and has had no awareness of anything that has happened since.

If United were:

10th in the league
Rangnick or Ole still manager
Ronaldo was top scorer in the league

Then his words would mean something more. As it stands United are much better without him, he has 3 goals in 16 games and is stinking the place out, and it’s a new regime/manager. The timing is way off.

It has been widely reported that the facilities had been upgraded since he complained and that those upgrades are still ongoing.

Glad its not only me noticing. His stock here is down. Waaaay down.
It started during the pre-season which should have been all about our new start under Ten Hag, and then it became all about why Ronaldo wasn't there.

You’re right and as many of us highlighted last season, his overall performance was detrimental to the whole team structure and players around him. The team scored way fewer goals overall and conceded way more. Managers openly mocked how easy it was to build up against United last season because of the lack of pressing. Goals were solving problems he created himself. This season he’s not even scoring or finishing chances, just creating problems.

There’s stories going back years of England players going to St. George’s for treatment because of the better facilities. Obviously I don’t know the specifics but it’s definitely an area that hasn’t been given the tlc it should. I’d imagine it’s similar to Old Trafford in that it’s not atrocious but there are cracks showing.

Well it's come out before that our facilities are about 15 years out of date, not to mention that leaking roof and old looking stadium
