Is Ronaldo justified to say that he “feels betrayed” by Manchester United?

Why mutual termination? He is our asset who was payed 15 mil (plus signing on fee, wages, agent...). Why let him go free? His has market value and he is the one who wants to leave. So we should and we must demand transfer fee from his future club. Unless he wants to play 6 months for reserves and be fined every time when he refuses.

We have upper hand here, not him.
No one is going to pay anything for him (as we saw in the Summer) and we want him gone. He's also costing us half a mil a week so every week we keep him eats into that 15m. Rip up his contract and give him a kick up the arse on his way out.

You have to wonder who is doing Ronaldo's PR.
It could be seen as the only logical play to make if he wants out here and now (without losing his paycheck).

He has to make United release him - but on his terms: some kind of "mutual agreement" which allows him to collect his wages for the remainder of his contract.

Cause enough of a scandalous mess, hope that United think: "Alright, let's take the loss - just get him the feck outta here as soon as possible."

"Yeah Ronnie, what you wanna do, is go on the show of a guy famous for faking war crime stories and being sacked by a national newspaper, and slag off everyone at your current employer before heading off for the World Cup. That will deffffo go well

Someone will definitely take you on midseason for huge wages, despite no-one you deemed worthy enough wanting to do it in the summer".
I read somewhere that even Jorge Mendes wasn't in the loop about his interview with the Plant Pot!

Actually believable. If Ronaldo had sought counsel from any agent or legal rep of his they would have told him this interview would only make it harder to ask for the payout he wants. With the interview we now have solid legal ground.

Also the most famous thing to come out of Madeira is its cake. So jokes on him again. I know it's not actually
It's actually Madeira wine. I'm almost sure that the first time I heard about Madeira was adults talking about wine.

I think the idea is we'd save 10+ million (I think) on wages which could go towards a right-back or striker in the January transfer window. Selling him is risky because there might not actually be a buyer, unless he's already got a club lined up, which is possible.

Mutual termination of the contract AND paying up the rest of his contract is insanely damaging in my opinion. It's basically a gift of money for someone who's treated the club like crap and wants a way out.

Yeah I'd be massively against giving him a pay day to feck off. Sets a dangerous precedent. Relegate to reserves and fine as many weeks wages as possible.

If he refuses to forego his money, we have no choice to pay him, unless the lawyers can find a breach on contract from his interview tonight

Wonder if the Trafford pub will remove the mural of him off the side wall.

Can we just go full Liverpool and outright ban The Sun ever appearing at United conferences in the future? :p

Ferguson would stop short at putting a bounty on their heads.

In Hindi, Madeira ( or Madira) even means wine. Because it was the Portuguese who introduced it in India when they set up trading posts. Whereas Ronaldo just means a selfish a-hole in Hindi. So who's more famous now?

The worst part of this is Man Utd is been dragged through the mud - The club, Ten Haag, Rooney, yes even The Glaziers and even Ronaldo ruining his Man United legacy and so on. The fans argue against each other. The players, even the Portuguese team are disrupted. Ex players are ruining their own reputation and being put in difficult situations. And on and on. And while everyone is being fkd up Piers fkn Morgan is sitting there with his smug smile and a cigar, raking it in and laughing his arse off.

Agree.

Imo it'd be quite interesting to see how we handle this.

We're daft but not that daft so imo we won't pay him to leave. There's surely a lot of noise but in an entertaiment business sometime noise is money. Well most of the time. As long as we can keep the squad and football focused and away from that.

Plus we're on the good side of this saga and he's on the bad side so imo this actually doesn't affect us much. Our board probably even likes it. We simply can't lose after this. He shoot himself so badly after that interview.

However imo the board might consider how to handle this the most politically possible. He's a dick but he has a huge (and crazy) fanbase.

Personally I don't give much feck how we handle this. Even if we pay him not my money don't really care. As long as he's played his last game for us I'm happy.

So dramatic, no one other than Ronaldo is ruining their reputation or being driven through the mud. No one is thinking any less of Ten Hag, even the quotes are nothing.

If our childish fans think an ex-player having a difference of opinion is enough to ruin their reputation or insult them it says more about those fans.

No sane club is going to pay a transfer fee for him.

Getting rid is going to cost us, it's just a case of how much. A lot more than we hope is my guess.

It was a Woodward vanity signing wasn't it? I heard it repeated the other day on a podcast, possible Talk of the Devils. Woody convinced Joel of the financials. The deal was basically done and then Solskjaer was asked if he wanted him and he obviously said yes. I don't really think Ole had the clout to convince the Glazers to part with half a mill a week, do you?
I'm a big @Adnan fan, but your explanation sounds far more likely than his.

Carrick and McKenna not being on board also makes perfect sense though.

He doesn't show any respect to Ten Hag. What a cnut of player

I'm so disappointed that he still thinks that he is in his prime years. Right now, he's becoming belongs to a comedy paradox.

This case, I'm fully supporting ETH.

I've come to the conclusion Piers Morgan must be on the Ronaldo payroll.

He can't honestly believe the absolute nonsense he's talking regarding Ronaldo. It's cringe worthy listening to him lick Cristiano's arse.

Claiming he'd take the current Ronaldo for Arsenal. More PR work for Cristiano.
Morgan was saying he will have him at Arsenal. Darren Bent then asks who would he drop? Then the prick didn’t have an answer!

Why is he an idiot? Anything controversial?
He seems to think that it would be beneficial to Manchester United that Ronaldo stays.

Whether you want to call that "overly sentimental" or "idiotic" is up to you, I guess.

But, yeah. Or no. It's actually idiotic.

That's cool to know, and it makes so much sense. Part of the uniqueness of Madeira wine is that it holds its quality extremely well under high temperatures so it makes perfect sense to be the chosen wine to take in those long voyages, mostly spent on tropical and warm climates.
