Cristiano Ronaldo: Set to leave by mutual agreement

Is Ronaldo justified to say that he “feels betrayed” by Manchester United?

Embarrassing stuff
The only embarrassing one here is you with your insane ramblings trying to justify Ronaldo saying these kinds of things while under contract at United, it's just something you simply don't do as a supposed professional athlete.

The quote was something like this “in the summer there were many, or not many, a few offers besides the one from Saudi Arabia but I said no to them, I wanted to stay with Manchester United, it felt good, I didn’t want to leave”.

That is the — only — news item in the entire interview. If true. And it’s not insignificant, it does put many things in another context. Why aren’t it talked about? He didn’t request a transfer. He didn’t want to go to a Champions League club.

100 percent he will go for the oil money. He said he was offered 325 mill for Saudi or wherever and didn't take it - yet. Plus he refused to say anything bad about Quatar. I even think this is the reason for this circus. He knows he's finished at the top level. He wont sit on the bench and he sees how bad its making him look but United wanted to keep him till summer because of our lack of strikers. Now he's got his way

Looking at the warm up match for Portugal earlier, their team and specifically their attack, looks so much more dangerous and fluid when he's not on the pitch...

Bruno also plays much better

Looks very familiar

I genuinely don't know if Ronaldo is deluded. Does he really believe the stuff he is saying, or does he know he's crafting a story to explain away why he can't even score an open goal in Cyprus?

The line he was selling was the energy around United is all bad, it's demotivating, the coach and the higher ups hate me, hence why I am always offside these days.

It's bizarre how much he rambled on about how coming on for three minutes would have been a slight. Calling Ten Hag dishonest and all that nonsense.

From everything Ronaldo's said it's clear that the problem is Ten Hag treats him like any other player. Whereas he feels he should be treated like he's more than any other player. His mouth is writing cheques his body can no longer cash.

For sure, but then — is not that in itself the biggest story? That Ronaldo is sitting there 100% lying about never requesting a transfer and not wanting out??

No because Ronaldo likely didn't formely request a transfer, players seldomly do it since there is bonuses at play. Him wanting out is barely in question, the man was planning to tell us the truth after the transfer window was closed.

Anybody else that thought this summer when United went to the us that Ronaldo skipped it because of the rape incident?
That case is not all resolved is it?

There were reports in August that United were willing to let him go on a free, but evidently either nobody wanted him or nobody wanted to match his wages.

Following Ronaldo's own logic, if he had no intention of leaving and it was the club who wanted to force him out, why didn't the club really believe his excuse for not returning to pre-season? After all, if they're the machiavellian architects of this whole situation and have been plotting against him since last season then they had no reason to be suspicious of him.

“I am an amazing professional, I have a lot to share, I have been the best for 21 years, young players should be looking up to me, I should be a role model to all”

“Cristiano tell us about leaving the game early during the summer?”

“8 other players left, why are you focusing on me?”

Says he talks to Ferguson all the time and that he agrees with him.
Do we believe him?

When he says Ferguson doesn't like the direction of the club does he mean the ownership or the management?

Brilliant interview. The club is stuck in a time warp and I'm glad he's spilled the beans, it's just a shame most supporters are too blind to see it - take off those red tinted specs!

The others didn't even play that day. I'd call it an attempt at gaslighting but it's just so poorly done.

I don't.

He was full of praise for Sir Alex, but he said he hadn't spoken to him for 'a month'. That is not 'all the time'.

However, if what he said is not what Sir Alex thinks, it is beholden of SAF to come out and say so*. If Sir Alex contradicted what Ronaldo said, that would absolutely draw a line under this lawyers or no lawyers. If not I can see him getting more games in 2023 in the FA Cup and the Europa.

*Sir Alex should also perhaps stick up for the Glazers (whom Ronaldo had a dig at tonight) because despite what people may think, they have given several managers decent money to spend in the last decade.

It’s just the complete and utter cognitive dissonance that gets me. He wants players to follow his example, but when they do - he doesn’t want to be blamed for it.

(Criminal case as of July 2019) A statement from Las Vegas prosecutors said: "Based upon a review of information at this time, the allegations of sexual assault against Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.”

(Civil lawsuit case as of late last year) Judge Jennifer Dorsey accepted the recommendation of a federal magistrate, saying that an attorney for accuser Kathryn Mayorga engaged in misconduct so severe that it would be impossible for Ronaldo to have a fair trial, because of her attorney’s abuses and flagrant circumvention of the proper litigation process, Mayorga loses her opportunity to pursue this case and attempt to unwind the settlement of claims that, themselves, implicate serious allegations of a highly personal nature, the case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning Mayorga cannot refile the complaint.

So going by both those 2 different statements, both criminal and civil cases are done.

From here to there
He's criticised his manager in public while under contract to the club.

The rest is irrelevant with respect to whether he should ever play again for United. That one element makes him gone.

Why would an Arsenal fan give a feck about the Glazers? We hate them mate, with good reason.

I hope I never hear Fergie sticking up for the Glazers.
