The sickness in me would like us to trigger the one year option and make him play for the reserves, any time hes late or refuses to play fine him a weeks wage.

Or wait until the January window is closed wait until CL clubs have finalised their teams then sack him so he cant play

All you do is trawl twitter to find praise or positive tweets about Ronaldo.

You fanboys really are something else.
So because I posted something that might sound positive, you’re at it? What about the other tweets I posted that weren’t positive? I’m sharing these for informative purposes. Take everything else as you wish.

While it would be funny, it would just cause way more noise and anger/distraction than it would be worth.

We just need to get rid of him ASAP. Whether it's getting a fee for him, letting him walk for free, or paying him off.

He simply cannot be here at the restart. This circus surrounding him is doing way more damage than him being on the pitch ever will.

He needs sacked during the World Cup ideally just before a big match

The quiet resolution is always the best...United should explain to Ronaldo, that he can rip up his contract and find a new club. Or stay employed by United for the length of his contract, but he is no longer welcome at the training ground and wont play any matchs.

Ronaldo loves anyone who praises him and holds a grudge against anyone who dare criticise him even if they are right.

This is what i was saying for years to people who said that he is our legend. He gave us 2 (great) seasons. If Ronaldo is/was United legend then we can say that for at least 100 players.
I understand if people think he is not among our top 10 in legendary ranking. But 100 is abit over the top. Least to say we never have 100 Ballon D’or winners who had won us CL and multiple PL titles in our glorious history.

This is what I'd do. I would be really reluctantly to let him get what he wants (full pay and sacked).

Ban him from the club until he finds somewhere else.

Ronaldo hasn't been a scape goat he's overly praised if anything. He's been called out now because he's playing and behaving like trash.

Also you didn't write that. It's fine to admit a typo ffs.
My bad. Yes, that wouldn't make any sense.

There should be no more comments from the club now, just let the media shit stir and wait for Portugal to get knocked out so Ronaldo has to return to Old Trafford to face the music.

Why people have trouble with the "rat" comment?

I don't consider "rat" as an insult. Consider for a moment, the world a rat lives in. It's a hostile world indeed.

Has a rat ever done anything to you to create this animosity you feel toward them? Rats were the cause of the Bubonic plague, but that was some time ago. In all your born days, has a rat ever caused you to be sick a day in your life? I purpose to you, any disease a rat could spread, a squirrel could equally carry. Yet I assume you don't share the same animosity if Ronaldo call Rooney a squirrel, do you?

The common thread being that both Pogba and Ronaldo demand the focus on them, make everything about them, it is only natural that when things don't go well that focus does not disappear
They're "stars" so maybe. But like I said, there will be another focus once Ronaldo is gone.

Apparently Simon Jordan has absolutely handed Morgan’s arse to him on TalkSPORT, anyone hear?
Today? Haven't heard - saw the one yesterday and thought they went too soft on Piers and didn't dig deep enough into his claims.

I read somewhere that Ronaldo has started 9 out of 13 games. Such disrespect!

Bollocks to paying him off. What he's done must surely amount to breach of contract. When Chelsea sacked Mutu they sued him and he was told to pay them over £15m. Which he still hadn't done as of 2018 at least.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
I guess now that he isn't winning the Balon Dor battle he orgasmed over for years he's holding on to what really matters - Instagram followers.
Ironic when he accused the younger generation of not being focused on the job but more interested in game and celebrity and social media crap

Well I say ironic, hypocritical
That sounds like we know exactly what we’re doing and are letting the world know.. but we’re just getting lawyers to triple check everything and ensure we don’t fall foul of any loophole and look like dickheads.

Someone said about retaining his registration, can we terminate his contract AND retain registration? Sounds a bit “restraint of trade”ish.

Will club announce next steps an hour before the first Portugal match… coincidentally like? A really short “Mr C Ronaldo has been advised he has breached his contract and we have today terminated his contract”. No thanks or anything.. really piss him off.

He gave 3.5 great seasons, two of which were absolutely out of this world and critical to us winning the very top honours in the sport.
You can’t say that for a handful of players let alone “at least 100 players”.

Say what you want about Ronaldo the man - he clearly has some problems.

But we shouldn’t re-write what Ronaldo the player actually did.

Ronaldo could have at least referred to Rooney and Neville as "fancy rats" in order to differentiate them from us "common rat" plebs. I bet they have never been so disrespected in all their lives.

Brilliant, Gary Neville discussing it in the pre match build up.

Because you can't go in the media and talk shit about your manager, company, company owners. That's where you can get fired effective immediately.
Definitely, I think they will be terminating his contract based on that. Also this is not the first time Ronaldo has caused trouble.

I am definitely sure if my Manager tells me to do a task and I don’t want to do it and walk out in protest. I would be fired.

The circus needs to end before our next game vs Burnley. Announce he has left by mutual consent. at some point in the next week. Show that we as a club are bigger than this by not being vindictive but make it very clear to Ronaldo and his entourage that he isn’t getting a penny more from United and if he wants to start afresh he needs to leave. If not then he will stew in the reserves and not be played at all until the summer. Brinkmanship behind the scenes but dignified front to the outside world. Ten hag esque….

Agreed. Was magic those last few years.

In a broader sense though, could you paint a picture of what your take on Ronaldo is now after all this @MrEleson ? I know you definitely used to be a fan (same could be said for all of us, but you more recently than most)

Covering:
  • Performances
  • Professionalism
  • Has Erik ten Hag done him wrong?
  • His future
  • His level

That statement may indicate that United are fairly sure that the contract can be unilaterally terminated.

If there's no chance of actually sacking the cnut, I think they would've worded it differently.
