Gaz. Is a Mewling Quim.
tbf the leak was only talking about for the forwards, so no reason to think any of the midfield had changed
But even yesterday I’d have named 9 out of the 11 with a strong degree of confidence, with questions over Rashford, Saka, Foden and Sterling. Wouldn’t really get my nose bent out of shape with any decision made out of those.

He was dropped for Henderson in England's last game, which England won comfortably.
That very much looked like rotation since you were already pretty much confirmed through. Mount started the first 2 games. Camavinga started the 3rd game for France at lb, that doesn't mean he should suddenly have been viewed as France's starting left back going into their game today.

In terms of whether Henderson should have taken his spot, I don't think so personally. You beat a terrible Welsh side that were all but officially confirmed out. That isn't some incredible achievement.

He doesn't deserve to be dropped. He's playing more as a false 9 than a striker. He's been our most creative player.
Okay but if you've got Kane playing as a false 9 why do you need Foden? Surely it makes more sense, if Kane's going to be dropping into the hole, to have two players running in beyond? Isn't there a big chance that Foden and Kane just get in each other's way?

England:
Predicted the Rashford drop after last game. Also expected Foden to be dropped along with him, but seems Southgate still has some grey matter in there.
Foden is only starting because Sterling is not available imo.

Bizarre to not start Rashford after the last game. So much for playing yourself in to the team. Though he’ll probably be an effective impact sub, and England have a lot of high quality replacements so it may well work.

I would have played Rashford on the left but that's just me.

I actually don’t mind this team he has put out. I just recoil when I think about how he will react to game developments though. Will prob be best if we have to come from behind rather than leading.

If he was rotating, Kane and Rice would've been rested, not Sterling and Mount!

After the USA game everyone and their dog was screaming for Mount and Sterling to get dropped. Southgate did it but it seems he can't even get any credit for that.

Marcus isn't a better right winger/forward than Saka. Just because he scored a free kick and a left footed goal from the right off a goalkeeper error doesn't mean he should go straight into the starting XI even if it compromises the team as a whole.

It's great to see him do well and be happy, but he's been very much an impact sub under Southgate and that's totally fine. You don't hear Marcus moaning about it nor does he play with any resentment...just goes about and plays.

Saka is a very good player and is equal to service and trying to score. Responsible defensively and going forward.

That’s one of the issues England have and is why Spurs don’t have a number 10

Southgate has gone negative. Hes had Henderson take mounts place.

And had foden take sterlings place. He could have had rashford saka and foden behind Kane.

Bet this also has France in mind too

The one out of Foden, Rashford and Saka not starting was always going to be hard done by... I do think Rashford is the most effective impact player from the bench out of the 3

Foden instead of Rashford isn't a bad call.

Rashford performed better on the right and Saka is simply a better player from there.

don't get starting foden on the left when you can play rashford on the left hwere he's most comfortable

Kane 100% would have asked to start since he'd be chasing the golden boot. Phillips might not be fit enough to start yet and there's no other alternative for Rice. If there was no rotation involved whatsoever why has Saka come back into the team for Rashford despite him scoring 2 goals against Wales?

This is such a bizarre thing. Broadcast channel in the UK has no impact on the result but it’s just weird how it’s worked out like this. It’s not like there’s even a skew on the fixtures (eg. if BBC showed all the group matches and ITV all the knockouts).

it still always feels like that spot next to Rice where a few different players have been tried should be Wilsheres
