Not one of Spain's attackers would start for United, and we're not exactly prolific in front of goal either. They need to start producing fewer midfielders and more forwards.

The commentator said that Spain's players practiced their pens a lot. However, you cannot recreate this moment in training. No one can prepare you for the pressure in this scenario.

In the end Morocco had the right tactics, Bore everyone with all the defending and then get into the next round by winning their pen shootout

Won't be easy for Portugal or Switzerland.

Spain out three times in a row on pens. Probably should try more to win during the 90 mins

What's with all these weak side footing penalties? You would have thought Spain players would have learned from Japan. Just put your foot through them!

I can’t remember a worse penalty shootout performance than this.

I really want to see "players that only get subbed in for the penalties" stats.
I feel like they miss quite often, more often than regular players.

Does someone have these numbers?

So what will happen now? Will Spain look for a different manager with a different style or was it just too soon for some of their kids. That is last chance for Busquets.

Knew Sarbabia would miss once the commentator said he's been brought on to take a penalty

It's not fair, Spain should petition for penalties to be replaced by a sideways passing challenge.

A shame, I think. I always support the underdog but not when anti-football wins. No-one wants to watch this Morocco side again.

Spain are a tumescent embarrassment.

Switzerland have to make it to the semis, anything else would be gross.

That Morocco gk looked cool and clutch even in normal time. Always felt if it went to pens then they have a good chance for that very reason.

I don't know who was on the next pen for Spain, but I bet they're gutted that they didn't get their own chance to walk up slowly and try to gently pass the ball two yards inside the post.

Thank fook that's over. Garbage game.

Well done Morocco, Spain were like trying to open a tin of beans with a shoe lace.

Two abysmal 'footballing' teams, whoever wins out of Portugal/Switzerland should more than fancy their chances

Agree, they need to get that ball forward quicker instead of faffing around, pass, pass pass and no end product.

Spain were fecking awful this tournament, rightly sent home. 1000 passes and 1 shot on target? They've somehow gone backwards since the Euros despite their team back then being arguably more inexperienced.
really? Where were you when they beat Costa Rica 7-0
