You would think so, but they’re treating this January like they’re still going to be here in the summer and that’s a major concern for me. I’m just hoping they want to present totally in order books when they meet potential buyers and not show they completely blew the budget this year.
If it were me I’d do the same to be honest. Plan for the worst hope for the best, that way you can’t be disappointed.

We won’t though. I certainly won’t be judging him off this loan spell at a currently terrible team. He won’t save them, if he does he’s a monster of a player the likes we have never seen before.
Honestly don't think even Haalaand can save them

No it's not. It's a fee of 10m for half a season which is equivalent to 80m for a player on a 4 year deal. Its actually better than buying as it's effectively a probation period. Something we could have done with given the money we've wasted over the years.
Just when I was thinking it doesn't matter that we decided not to pay the money

I believe any loan signing would cost us millions also.

Speaking of standard, United shouldn't depend on Burnley reject striker as potentially the savior of our season. He may or may not come good, but that's not the point.
He’s not being brought in to be some potential saviour, he’s being brought in for a bit of depth. He’s an improvement on what we have without being ripped off.

If we were looking at Weghorst as a long term move then yeah, we’ve every right to be annoyed at that. In these circumstances however it’s a perfectly acceptable move.

Signing a player like Felix for 80m for 4 years and letting him go on a free would be a terrible deal too.. not sure what that argument is.
Its overpriced.. but wasting 5-10m is something clubs can do..

dont think our season needs saving. just a bench option at one position.

Expected this to happen, Arsenal haven't really been proactive as they didn't want to pay too much, United in similar position + going for Weghorst atm.

Never made sense for us. Let alone at the ridiculous fees.

Disappointed we didn't get him - he is class. I think he'll do well at Chelsea. He doesn't have a buy option with the loan so could be on the market again in the summer.
We didn't want to pay the fee,end of story. Could have provided the chance to rotate Bruno & Eriksen but there we go.

Having a laugh at people saying Mendes wants to do us a favor hence giving us Felix on loan :D :D Probably was just using us to get a better deal from Chelsea/Arsenal.

Well shit, this means they are most likely to permanently signing him as well, even if there is no contract option.

How have you come to that conclusion?
I'm not saying it will happen, but the player does have a lot of say in his move. If he ends up really enjoying living in London and playing at the club, it is not like Boehly will not spend the money,

I am wondering how much attention people actually pay to tactics and personnel in football. Their isn't a lineup of attacking players Chelsea have available right now that even remotely works, and now they add someone whos record return in the spanish league is 8 goals. They are of absolutely no threat whatsoever in their current form, that may change during the off-season if the manager gets given time to implement his ideas.

Benfica are legitimately a genius club when it comes to selling players. They have made close to 300 million euros selling Felix, Nunez, Semedo, Renato Sanchez and Victor Lindelof.

We get to see how he fares in the Premier League and it is not going to cost us a penny.

I hate Chelsea
I detest them. As someone who didn’t grow up in Manchester, I obviously understand the rivalries of Liverpool and City but I hold the most dislike for Chelsea. Just such an annoying club.

Second time Ornstein has worded a signing in a way insinuating the player chose that club over others when the truth is the other interested party wouldn’t pay the fee. See Gakpo when he had to clarify that wasn’t the case.
Ornstein is getting scoops from Boehly so this kind of reporting is basically quid pro quo.
Project at Chelsea is basically a scattergun approach to throw as much money as possible and hope it works out

What the hell are they doing? They wanted Enzo, Mudryk, Felix, some random CBs thrown in and all in Jan.

Think Felix came into it after Sterling and Pulisic injuries

It's not merely "a bit depth". That striker position could be the massive difference in our season on getting trophies and Top 4.

Apparently the UCL was the deciding factor for Felix. I suppose he's eager to lose to Dortmund in the round of 16.

Chelsea are an absolute mess at the moment and their scatter gun approach in the transfer market is showing.

With Sancho returning and with the club closing in on Weghorst, it may not be as disastrous as I and others first thought.

It seems that Boehly is the new Woodward. Gets easily shafted by agents while he is playing Football Manager.

Chelsea have become irrelevant really though. I don’t think potters the man to take them forward no matter what players they have. If ETH was managing them he’d of defo got more out of that team. I mean they’ve spent money on havertz, Sterling, ziyech and they don’t look as good as they should.

I’m not sure what Felix had to decide? No other club is willing to meet Atletico demands. There’s no choice other than the stick it out and hope his club budge.

Chelsea could get eliminated from UCL & not make top 4 (huge probability of that happening) & go back to Atleti and have the choice of so many clubs. Even if he plays well, Chelsea could even be put in a worse position negotating wise.
