We lost to a much better coached team
We can’t afford to be missing Casemiro and relying on a loan player from Burnley. The squad isn’t anywhere near ready yet but the progression is there for all to see.

Truth is we have been poor for a while. Fulham, Wolves, Bournemouth, Charlton were all poor performances. Fair enough we beat City but we were shite for much of the match.

Bruno non entity today, Eriksen not good enough in midfield. We need a striker. We are a good bit off yet.

You think he did that on purpose?

It seems to be in him and like I said it's driving me mad. I can take losing but not when we bring it on ourselves being so negative

We just waved the white flag today and it's so frustrating

Sickening blow that late in the game. It felt like it had been coming. Disappointing, and so many points behind them now that you'd think any realistic chance of being in the title race would effectively be over. All about consolidating top 4 now and finishing as high up the league as possible.

Amazing how long transfer market feckups like AWB can haunt you afterwards. Here’s hoping Sancho and Antony don’t become the next ones, at least one of them could come good ffs.

Rubbish second half; we looked completely blown after 75 minutes. Need reinforcements; it'll have to be a challenge next year instead of this one because of that. Eriksen's legs looked gone he couldn't get close to Odegaard second half.
Re the goal: I think thats worse refereeing than the Rashford offside - honestly; at least they gave a reason for Rashford not being offside even if they were wrong. What the hell is this though; just don't check the pass to Zinchenko???

I am seeing this for what it is. A year ago United was not even competitive and now the team is. We have to remember that this is far from the finished Ten Hag team and there was a woeful bench today. I remain happy with the direction this season, and I think considering the form of other teams United is consistent enough to lock 4th place and probably 3rd. I accept this for the first season and see it as a positive move in the right direction.

Add a possible trophy with the League Cup and it will be a very good season that the likes of Klopp, Pep, and Arteta could not manage in their first seasons. This team is not ready to win the league and I think ETH is doing a great job. Also, I really think Casermiro for McT today wins the game. It is what it is and I think we need to be realistic about where the team is on its journey.

Casemiro plays, we win that game. Simple as that. Arsenal are no better than us and no more than a decent team in a purple patch.

Garnacho for Wout with around 20 mins left was the sub to make, pushing Rashford through the middle and Bruno right.

They were all over us and he would have offered something different as an out ball. I thought McTominay did OK tbf, but when we were missing the best dm in the world we always faced an uphill battle.

Arsenal look very good and also have that luck that's needed.

Why are people in here saying we got robbed? We did well but the better team on the day won. Simple as that.

Our squad depth is being exposed due to the amount of games but we're 4th behind Newcastle ob goal difference, played the 2 best teams home and away.....
Happy with that all things considered. How and when we rotate is obviously crucial and hopefully Sancho is back soon.

Story of the season. Woolwich deserve it.
Will be a good season for us. More worried about who the new owners will be.

This.

A real stinger of an outcome, but in reality, the extra point we'd have got wouldn't change much for us.
We're not in the title race, but we do have a superb chance of finishing at least 4th.

Every chance of a cup too. We're well on track for Ten Hag's first season.

We have Casemiro back next game, and hopefully Dalot too.
If Martial actually shows up at some point too we're in decent nick.

Really not sure we can afford too many Wegy starts.

People crying about Garnacho not coming on, but it was clear to see during the City game that he is extremely unreliable (at the moment) defensively and gives the ball away cheaply. We had none of the ball so were realistically never going to get a goal. The change I would have made is perhaps Eriksen for Lindelof or Maguire. Still, we looked tired and we need better depth. Disappointing but not the end of the world.

Two crap second half performances have cost us 3 points over two games, minimum. We needed to bring on Garnacho much sooner to change things up or just do something different. They had us under pressure and were eventually going to score with the players that we had playing today. AWB being responsible for two goals is infuriating, tbh. All round, I thought it was a disappointing display and we didn't create enough or test them enough, especially the longer the game went on.

We need attackers who move like theirs do. We've got one too many players who look like they're playing with cement in their boots.

Cant people see this defeat is purely on the board. With a different manager it would have been 4-5 nil.
Credit to ETH, credit to the players for keeping it close until the very end.

You can’t replace Casemiro with McTominay for match with the league leaders and not expect the midfield to get overrun.

Also look at the attacking signings made by everyone this winter then look at ours. The board have screwed us over in the best season we’ve had post SAF.

We have a big problem up front. It's either Rashford to do something magic or Bruno to play someone in.

It's a bit hard to blame WW but Anthony has been here all season

We need to move on quickly and forget about this.

The only thing that disappointed me was not taking Eriksen and Weggy off. We could have done with Rash up top and Ganarcho on the left. Would have left Antony on as well for his defensive work.

In any case, disappointing as we almost got a point here, but just have to move on.

Still a work in progress. We've been flagging a bit in recent weeks, overall i can't fault Wan Bisakka's performances over 5 or whatever games but the wider team looks weaker with him instead of Dalot and i think the unsuitable cover elsewhere is having a similar impact.
We look one dimensional going forward. We go long to Rashford way too often and if the ball even reaches him, he doesn't pass, so no one else is going to play themselves into form. We need more and better performances from all our forwards and we need to mix it up more.

We probably should have gone for it after the equalizer. I was hoping Garnacho would come in around the 75th minute mark. Drop in quality from Casemiro to McT is just….

We deserve to get nothing. You can't play like that for a long period with the hope that your opponent doesn't score.

Not sure if ETH hasn't noticed that our midfield is still poor. There is practically no CM who can control a game against top opposition. Not really his fault but I was thinking he would try and get one person in this January transfer window, even if on loan. If MCT is even moderately good, we should be attacking at the time we conceded.
Name one midfielder who would improve us and we could afford.

Deserved win for Arsenal. They're just further along as a team than we are.

Still, fun game.
Best and most accurate quote. The better team won but we aren’t that far off. Look
where we have come in half a fecking season.
My only concern is how Martin Tyler will get out his creamy dry spunk laden pants. They must be literally stuck to him like glue!

Such a great game to watch. They trashed us the last 15 minutes and won rightfully so. I assume Zinchenko was onside, but they could've at least shown the images, which prove it. Hate them, but it's theirs to lose.

This loss is fully on EtH. Poor game management. Criminally poor.
Agree. No garnacho until 2 mins left was baffling. Insistence on playing out from the back cost us a goal. Mctominay shouldn’t play for us again and defended obscenely deep making conceding inevitable.

Arsenal are very very good this season and they played well today. United actually did better than I had expected today. Put up a good fight and could have nicked a point.
This United team is still a work in progress and reinforcements are needed, but the attitude is there, and if only we can stay in top 4, I trust ETH to make us title contenders already next season.

Yeah exactly, people need to take a few breaths and admire how far we’ve come. Arsenal are just on fire now and deserved league leaders
Genuinely thought 1st half we were doing well
Just ran out of legs
