It's smart for Bayern not to have an option to buy here...if he stinks we wouldn't exercise the option. If hes great, they'll probably be able to get a higher fee than the option in the summer from us. It's a no-brainer for them.

ETH will probably need to blood him in like with Casemiro.
If that's anything to go by, I don't think we'll see much of him in Feb
Pretty much all of ETH’s boys went straight into the side. Casemiro was the exception and that seems to be entirely because he was a club signing that ETH only acquiesced on, once the club managed to convince him to stop forlornly waiting under De Jong’s balcony.

Very excited at the prospect of seeing him pull on a Utd shirt. According to many Bayern fans, he’s an excellent midfielder, but frustrated by the rotation system they have and subsequently left on the bench since his move from RB Leipzig.

Gaz. Is a Mewling Quim.
What? Eriksen is absolutely one of the first names on the team sheet. There literally is no competition when his alternative is Fred. He’s literally first choice for that position.
I mean, De Gea, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Bruno and Rashford are all ahead of him on that list. Until about a week ago Dalot was also on that list. I just think at a certain point that moniker stops working, his drop off from with his competition is nowhere near the others so I can’t use that title for him, personally.
Do you come on here to argue with literally everyone? Go on, tell me I've used literally wrong.
Post not poster my good sir.

I’m far more likely to comment to something I disagree with, no point just sitting there going THIS when somebody says something I agree with, it adds literally nothing.

We'd been working on Casemiro for weeks, I doubt EtH had any reluctance.

Makes sense. I‘m now thinking Eriksen‘s crutches were a prop to get the board to approve this signing. Tomorrow Eriksen will walk without crutches exclaiming ‚It‘s a miracle‘.
And Eriksen would agree to do that to bring in competition?

Just watched some youtube videos on him. He looks bloody awesome. very good at shooting and scores Plenty, especially free kicks over the wall. Technically looks excellent and can dribble and tackle. Bayern must have some shit hot midfielders to let him go out on loan.

Hope, We Lose
Eriksen has been as important as anyone in our improvement.
Worse defensively than Pogba, less on the ball and dictating than I was hoping for after his great run at Brentford, but he's our only midfielder (other than Bruno who plays in AM instead) who plays the position concentrating on attack. And he's had enough quality in his final ball to get lots of assists. So he's been important, but due to him being an attacking player in that position rather than players who will leave us less exposed defensively but probably dont have the final ball that he's provided, such as McTom and Fred.

I'm a big fan of his so I expected more. I wanted us to sign him when he was at Ajax. Especially after he scored against us with his left. And then when he was at Spurs. I always imagined he would do more than he has done so far.

Great bit of business. Would’ve been nice to have gotten an option to buy included just incase he does have a really successful loan spell but whatever. The situations looking a lot less bleak now than when the Eriksen news first broke.

So let me get this straight. I'm obviously batshit crazy, so please show me the way.

Our team is on a roll, but everyone is aware we're a couple of injuries away from panic stations. January comes and it's almost gone when one of those dreaded injuries happen. We reach out to Munich on the last day of the window to loan us a CM.

Were we "lucky" that Eriksen was injured in January as opposed to February?
Are we damn efficient in getting a quality loan in just a day?
Are we just a tad incompetent for getting into this position in the first place?

See, I don't think Sabitzer was only made available for loan today. Maybe he was? Help me out here. I think Eric wanted another CM badly this Jan, but only got his wish after a key player was injured.

This kinda makes me angry, but as I said, I'm just batshit crazy.

Don't get me wrong, I like Sabitzer :) What I need is someone to point me in the right direction. Someone needs to explain to me why I'm the only one feeling this way.

Thanks!
Somebody put him out of his misery. Neuter him. Make him listen to Biden for 2 hours. Drop him amongst coyotes. Stuff him with acid. Leave him in a room with Boehly. Just do something.

I have no idea either, yet.

Yeah, I've always been a fan too and don't really agree with your analysis. I think he's been the perfect foil to Casemiro and our flaws more to do with only having 1/3 of the front line showing consistent form. I think if we had a fully functioning front 3 the CMs would look even better.

No, I think you misunderstood.

Depth isn't infinite. There's squad limits, there's also only so many players you can have without causing discontent about lack of chances.

You can have reasonable depth and still take the opportunity of an open transfer window to replace players lost to long term injury (and thus replenish your depth). The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Are you telling me that if City lost 2 CBs to long term injury they wouldn't dip into the January market to bring more bodies in? And if so, would you say they also don't have depth in that case?
You seem to be trying to argue. Let’s just leave it there.

Yeah ticks a lot of boxes as a box to box midfielder. Good energy and work rate, pressing. Very good link up play and calm in possession. Not so much a distributor like Eriksen but lot more press resistant
