I think he has questions to answer; Signing Antony, Persisting with Weghorst. But you can’t overlook that a lot of the problems are ones he inherited.

We’ve seen improvements. We’ve won a cup and it’s still in our hands to get top 4 and another final there. Hopefully we have funds in the summer to build on this.

Yes for his persistence to play DDG and Weghorst. One responsible for sabotaging the team with amateur mistakes and one responsible for just doing nothing except running around like a headless chicken.
Please get De Zerbi to come in and teach this lot how to play. I think he will cost less than ETH

No because I think he needs another window to stamp his mark on the squad and improve it. I reckon we will get top 4 as our run in isn't too hard.

No. He's being questioned deservedly but I always come back to the fact that he's taken a wafer-thin squad around the houses and it's coming home to roost. The knives seem to be out for him now on this forum but I refuse to bag him; the squad is still not good enough, his signings have been ok on the whole and he's been asked to fill glaring gaps with stopgap bits and pieces players.

Ah piss off with your knee jerk reaction. No he should absolutely not be sacked, the fault for how we’ve been doing lately has absolutely nothing to do with him.

He absolutely needs another season with investment from the new owners to see what he can do before we decide that this is another failed experiment. He has been making poor decisions lately though and he needs to get his shit together.

No.

It's the clubs recruitment that needs overhauling. I still believe if we can sign some press resistant players, he's a good enough coach to challenge at the top. Just stop signing weak players.

If we end up outside top4 and get destroyed by City in the FA final, it will look very bad. No CL qualification, out to inferior team in the EL, 0-7 at Anfield (most humiliating result in my lifetime and don’t tell me about the xG because I’m sure xG soothed the pain of all ridiculed United fans after this defeat), money/effort spent on short term fixes like Casemiro/Eriksen/Weghorst that won’t be here in a year or three, instead of blooding in the future. Only league cup to our name and it’s doesn’t mean much. It seemed impossible few weeks ago, but it still could be one of the worst post SAF seasons we’ve had.

I’m not sure how much of the progress we can see for now, surely we witness a lot of stubbornness though.

I don't think so but with all the money he has spent, has he really even improved us? We are lucky both Liverpool and Spurs have had poor seasons. We do not deserve to get champions league.
Don't worry, we very well may not.

No. But he should face scrutiny for both results and decisions in the transfer market.

This isn't a knee-jerk thread. No other United manager survived not qualifying for the CL in his first full season post-Fergie.

It's a distinct possibility now. Should he stay or go if it happens?

We need a poll.

Immediately and on the spot. Bottling top 4 from our current position will be something Spurs worthy.

I’m in a foul mood but not bad enough to agree with this. I do worry about his ability to get our players in the mood but I think it’s more that most of our players are just that fragile. No one can get them up for it.

Nope, not suggesting ETH hasn't made mistakes but the fact that manager after manager fail show there are deeper issues in play.

Look at the team today and we still have a lot of remnants of the previous regime. Poor squad still and we have no options off the bench to change the game.

Who exactly is he supposed to replace de Gea with at the moment mate?
So would you play Heaton or Butland? :houllier:
Heaton or Butland I don't care, just not De Gea.

It's about sending a message, no one should be undroppable. Mistakes should be punished to raise the standard.

What's the point of having second choice keepers? Are they only there in case the number one choice gets injured? There needs to be competition for places.

This is not the first stupid mistake De Gea makes still he starts every game mediocrity is accepted and rewarded it seems.

No. A good chunk of the playing staff should be though.

He'll probably get next season but if it was me, I'd be saying, you get 6 months.

However, you can only say the above if you provide reinforcements, even if they're not the names he necessarily wants.

But greediness in our attack like in the last few games should not be tolerated and if he does, it's on him

All "he needs another season" posts when he messed up most of his transfers last summer.

And again this is just a question because we are in uncharted territories if he fails to get CL football.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Of course he should!

Managers at the other end of the table get sacked when they fall out of the PL, or look likely to.

Utd must stop accepting mediocrity and a ‘that’ll do’ mindset.

If he fails Top 4 from where Utd were he absolutely should be replaced.

Added to that - Antony for NINETY MILLION, bringing in and playing fecking Weghorst, Malacia, wants to give new contract to DDG…

It’s not really knee jerk, imagine failing to qualify, getting absolutely hammered by the scouse and city in 1 season and the way we are playing city will put a big score on us in the final.

Are you on glue? How's none of this partly his fault? He's the manager. The players come out the second half as bad as they were in the first. He persists with Weg at 10. He has Garnacho and Pellistri on the bench and opts for Fred.

No. We are not good. Annoyingly not good. But there are progress everywhere.

Sack ETH and the transition starts again, but no managers would want to come to us. We need to give him more time. He is not as terrible as Moyes. His football is better than Ole and he is not as “crazy” as our other managers post Fergie.

No but I want everyone to issue an apology to Rangnick. Absolutely foresaw all of this LAST season. This team needs major heart surgery.

Weghorst is a loan signing he's trying to get a tune out of, it's fair to question why he's trying to accommodate him in this 10 role but the cupbaord is hardly bursting with alternatives. Every time he's tried to give Martial a run of games up top he's been injured or shite, Garnacho has been injured, Sancho is still poor, Pellestri has been judged not to be ready and Elanga...

As for DDG do you genuinely expect Erik to be drop him for Butland or Heaton? De Gea is miles off but those two are no longer PL standard.
