One of the most overrated players in the league, just because he’s English. Doesn’t excel in anything. If he was any other nationality he’d be worth £20 million tops.
Literally the opposite.

He's a v good player. I'm not sure what people are looking for sometimes. This isn't PlayStation. We need another player to rotate alongside Bruno..can also do a job off the No 9.

We need a better squad and Mason Mount would improve our squad. Better than either Fred or McT. Or Martial. Probably Sancho too.
You don’t pay £80m for a rotation player ffs. How many players have Bayern EVER paid £80m for? And he’s shown he’s not good enough at Chelsea, why the feck would paying that much for him be a good deal?

What's his best position , is he press resistant and capable of playing deeper ?
I thought he will be great in midfield three but he did below average in those positions. But our team structurally was bad even before we tried him in midfield. For us he didn't play well in no. 8 or two man midfield.

I don’t think he’s a bad player but we don’t need him and the price quoted is insane. Supposedly we are restricted by FFP and cash flow so it would be crazy to bring in him when we probably need £100m set aside for a CF.

Anything above £35m for a player with a year left is insane. United will have their pants down if it happens.

Jesus wept he's crap.
If he wasn't English none would rate him. Love this new trend of us getting fleeced every year by buying an overrated English player. Maguire, AWB, Sancho now Mount.

Well if mount choose United then you will be very lucky. He can score goals have very good in 1-2 passing and move on type player.

Tactically one of the best players for managers to trust him in the field. Surely he will elevate your overall structural discipline into another level.

It's sad he wanted to move on.
One thing I do like is that on the Chelsea forum nearly all posters don't want him leaving to a rival and clearly rate him very highly which is always something I look for when we're signing players. For example when we signed Maguire the Leicester forum were overjoyed and all rated Evans as the better cb anyway. Obviously that didn't turn out very well. I'm hoping he can be better than I personally think he is (which is still a good player, but not great).

If Brexit Jim takes over you know we’ll end up with Pickford, Maddison, Mount, Rice and Kane for a combined £350 million transfer window.

For ~£40m it would be a good signing, especially if the club can get ~£30m for McTominay. If Liverpool did something similar we'd be fuming. Man Utd hold the power too if he has told other suitors and Chelsea that is the move he wants.

I rate him better than the likes of McT and Fred. Thats how bad our midfield is right now, behind Eriksen and Case.

We desperately need a revamp in depth and someone who can actually spell Bruno.

But obviously not at fecking 80m or some stupid figure.

That would be terrible business considering McTominay is more versatile and is frankly just a better player in every sense. Mount plus 20M for McTominay might be worth considering.

Stop being obtuse. It’s an option among many line ups we will be able to play along the season. It’s not the number 1 option neither will it be used often. You’re getting away from the point.
I'm not being obtuse. You're using the option of Bruno on the RW as the solution to "where does Mount play". If that option won't be used often (it shouldn't unless we are in dire need based on injuries), then your original point is moot and we are stuck back trying to answer the same question: Why spend 60m on a player that, even at his best, doesn't have a clear fit in our first choice XI?

Some thing wrong between management and player ever since tuchel was sacked. This season our entire team went bad. So no point in refering this season as player s bench mark.

He is two times poty for us. Chelsea fans rated him always highly.

Well considering we are offering 55m apparently and Chelsea want more, yeah it's a crap signing. Not even mentioning he's not even a good midfielder and is at his best as a hybrid/forward type.

I hope we're not spending 60m on him!!!

Hopefully something between 35-40m and we can rotate him along with all our other players. I feel that in todays premier league, if you can't match city's depth you're not coming anywhere close to the prem title.

Mount may not be a "sexy" signing, but his work rate and pressing/running will go a long way to improve us over the course of a long season. Seems to also fit the type of player ETH likes. We just need to get rid of the likes of Fred and probably even McT as soon as possible.

We haven't offered anything according to Ornstein, we're yet to discuss anything with Chelsea but know Mount himself has indicated that Man Utd is his preferred destination.

Sure I'd take him for 35m, but reports are that we are offering 55 and Chelsea want more than that.

So yeah 35m for Mount with some selling of other players is good business. 60m makes me want to throw up and wish we stripped ETH of all of the apparent power he has over transfers, because his talent evaluation sucks if he's this gung ho for Mount

In a thread full of bad takes, this is the very baddest.

Exactly. I can handle people saying he's gone off the boil. And yes, perhaps there are better midfielders we could aspire to. But to call him shit is just insane.

Thanks , it would be interesting to see how Ten hag utilises him in case he do end up at United .
