For what it's worth Talksport today wasn't exactly glowing gorgeous them. Jordan was going on for ages about their 115, and the presenter in the afternoon was saying there treble was with a big asterisk. I thought it was funny cus I wldve been pissed off if I was on the other side.
Shame it's Talksport.

Their average phone in is Jamie O Hara moaning some player wasted their career, or Gabby slating someone who only scores xxx goals a season.
Both hilariously ironic.

The funniest thing on Talkshite is when some deluded City fans rings in and attemts to tell Jordan he's wrong. Hilarious, most of them can't string a sentence together. When Trevor (I scored an overhead kick goal once) Sinclair used to be on, he embarrassed himself when FFP was mentioned. Then they get the leader of the Beatles tribute band on to gloat. He's been invisible for 25 years prior to the dodgy sale to the Sheik. I wonder if the Sheik may actually visit the Emptyhad now????

Stark lack of coverage of this massive asterisk in the media. Everyone is tugging themselves silly over city without mentioning how they all got there in the first place.
Said it before when people were going on about preferring City to win the league over Arsenal with the excuse that "City's success doesn't count" or whatever. The sad reality is that no one cares about how they achieved it outside of our fanbase and just a few journalists. They won the Treble- history will remember that and nothing else.

I really hope something happens with the 115 charges for the years between 2012-2018 or whatever it is but i don't hold my breath over it. Football and the world in general is corrupt as feck and I don't see it getting any better on either front.

Good read if no ones read it yet.
Prophetic words regarding football becoming plastic

Going to read this soon but the bit below the headline reads terribly.
Rui Pinto, a Portuguese hacker, set into motion the investigation that now threatens the future of Manchester City, English soccer’s most successful team.

I'm presuming they mean on current form because City is nowhere near that statement on the all-time form.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

This isn't the Middle Ages or Trial by Water. Some of the charges against City are so extraordinarily serious and complicated that you can't just sit back and expect a reasonably fair hearing to be conducted over a couple of weeks.

Steph Houghton is currently making a fool of himself on Stretford Paddock because he obviously prefers a Kangaroo Court.

To be fair their are a lot City fans on Twitter making a fool of themselves by trying to argue their club is innocent despite not actually having a clue what their club has actually been charged with, I find it hard to believe that any genuine City fan can still believe they are completely innocent at this point when there is cast iron evidence that they are not.

Think the funniest one I've seen is big Steve on youtube, arguing that the leaked e-mails are fake and the highest revenue is genuine because they get income from all the clubs they own

Was talking to an Oldham fan today who claimed that the very implementation of FFP was "cheating" as it was ushered in by the big 6 to protect their hegemony. Laughable.

It's the idea that Man City have a commercial income in and around United's, even though United have 100s of millions more fans and have 1000s of partner sponsors, that really is the unarguable one.

Can’t read through all these pages… is there any indication about when we will hear about this?
No confirmed timeframe yet, but from all accounts it seems it will drag for many more months.
I think we are looking at years rather than months due to the amount of charges.

My working is based on the length of time it took for charges against Derby County to be sorted out and City have considerably more. My best guess would be 3 to 4 years.

I don't know about "Pannick" but those clowns will definitely panic when they get done for most of these charges.

Might stop them winning a 4th treble in a row by then.

They seem to be doing a big turnover this summer. Rumors/contract things with Walker, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, all huge players for them. Guess it's not a huge surprise after they did the treble so the players feel like they've completed all they can there and it's time for a new challenge. Of course still loaded with great players, but these guys in particular have come up big for them so often over the past years that I think the experience and unique qualities they bring could be sorely missed.

If PL watch this and the 115 charges still can't stick then you know City is more powerful than UEFA and PL. Unfortunately, I think this will most likely be the case as City have been blatantly cheating for more than 10 years and nothing happened to them. It's.has.been.bloody.too.obvious.

Name another sport in the world where 115 charges against the team absolutely dominating the sport would not be the ONLY story. It is hard to describe how mental it is that there is anything else being talked about.

Not talking about it allows time to pass, people to become less interested, and a slap on the wrist seem fair. On the other hand, if there is charges confirmed, what happens if city win the next 3 titles in the meantime. What about the season just gone. The integrity of the entire sport is compromised while this hangs over it, and mainstream media and football fans want to report about Jack Grealish's partying.

Laughable? I thought everybody agreed on this...that FFP is there to protect the big clubs.

What a absolute bellend.
I wouldn't say a bellend , more Al Capone knowing he has the jury brown enveloped. Robert De Niro " You got nothing! You're nothing but a lot of talk .You're here because you got nothing. Nothing in court, you don't got the bookkeeper, you've got nothing! Nothing!"

The arrogance of this guy and the whole ‘group’ as he calls it. He’s laughing in the face of the competition because he thinks they are untouchable. Says the club are now worth over 6 Billion!!!
The Premier League should just give up if they can’t deliver punishment and soon. Newcastle owners are watching this very closely.

He's right. There's a reason Chelsea were one of the biggest advocates for bringing in FFP.
There are many reasons for it and it is fundamentally a good idea. A big factor was to prevent owners leaving clubs in the lurch. You could also argue it was brought it to control Abu Dhabi but given how little appetite there has been until recently to actually do anything against City it seems unlikely that was a major factor.

The problem people have with FFP is unavoidable, there are clubs with vastly different revenue streams because the league is old and we’ve seen a shed load of owners and all their trials and tribulations. We cannot undo history but we can’t definitely improve on making things more level. FFP at heart is a good idea - if actually enforced - what it’s lacking is a cap on salaries and agent’s fees which then takes some power away from the large established clubs who have less problems generating money to allow lavish spending.

The end goal has to be to make the PL as competitive as possible, something we have lost for a while now - there’s no reason mid to long term we couldn’t have a genuine top 8 or 10 teams in a title race and trophies more evenly spread out of it was properly enforced.

Balanced perspectives
Taking the piss.
Even made money during covid...
feck outta here.
The top 6, or at least the ECL clubs all did. So this is a bit of a fallacy and doesn’t pass a basic fact check.

Independent analysis available online in the Deloitte annual report on football finance (for those years).

Truth doesn’t have any value anymore. Any business or public person with a large enough following has absolutely nothing to gain by being honest. If City committed any breaches, which most of us believe they did, why would they admit it? Denial keeps your loyal followers on your side. Strong denial gives your loyal followers the balls to be loud about it.

Brown envelopes or no brown envelopes, they will not and will never admit to wrongdoing because it’s not a successful business model. Lying and sticking to it works if the consequences don’t outweigh the benefits. I don’t think many of us expect the PL punishment to be anything significant because, at the end of the day, they could be shooting themselves in the foot.
