Yeah...what could go wrong pressuring Levy and offering him a perfect opportunity to act like the toughest guy around again...

and wait instead till the last day, risking going into the new season without a striker at all? Tottenham has to say YES or NO. Simple as that.

Dream scenario is bayern don't agree a deal this window, we start the season well and are in title challenge range by January, spurs are faltering and our takeover is complete and funds are made available to go out and get Kane for a statement signing and to drive a title race until the end.

Then I woke up.

I mean why is it taking Bayern so long to agree this deal? Incompetence at its finest, the transfer team have no idea what they are doing. Why dont they just move on already.

Of course, but according to reports we made our final offer today and set a deadline for today midnight.
To me it seems like a bit unnecessary escalation. There should at least be a few days between the final offer and the deadline to accept it i think.

There will almost certainly be execs at Spurs demanding they sell him rather than let him leave for free next year. Levy probably knows he can convince Kane to sign a new contract.

I'm pretty sure Bayern has made the offer already some days ago, i.e. on Monday when they met Levy (or the day after).

If I was a Bayern fan, I'd blame Darren Fletcher.

Makes sense from Bayern's POV - they obviously want to get on with planning their squad for the season ahead and don't want to enter a stupid negotiating contest with levy till the very end. 100m is a good offer for Kane.

I just read that they'll be giving him a 5 year deal! Now if that's what his agent has been briefing to clubs then no wonder we've not bothered going in for him. It's one thing getting rinsed by Levy, it's another having a centre forward the wrong side of 30, on mega wages, with no idea of how he'll be performing half way through his 5 year deal. Definitely got those Alexis Sanchez vibes with Kane.

Kane goes to Madrid next year if he's on a free. Imagine Real Madrid getting hold of Kane and Mbappe for nothing

If Hojlund needs more time hel come to us. He wants to stay in the PL for a big club, that's pretty obvious at this stage.

why do you think that? To me I’d be very surprised if he leaves Spurs this summer now. Bayern won’t pay the money needed, and I don’t think Kane is that bothered either way.
Because convinced he isn't interested in waiting around another year despite the fact he will have more options by running down deal

If Kane stays this summer he's almost guaranteed to be a Manchester United player next season, fingers crossed Levy continues to operate like a rank amateur

Kane and Højlund would be a dream

IF by some miracle he stays at Spurs will we actually be interested in signing him now
That is the key question. I suppose it largely depends on just how good Højlund is this season. We won't want to hinder his development. Just a case of whether we can perform a bit of a balancing act in conjunction with Kane. Although I can see a scenario a year or two from now where I'd like us to move for Ferguson too. Then there's the added caveat of whatever will happen with Greenwood.

I would still love to see Kane in Utd shirt but know the days of two strikers is long gone

Yeah it's very much either/or. City have a good thing going on with Haaland and Alvarez, but you'd think at some point the latter will lose patience. Similar to Jesus. Though, there's always the possibility that Haaland fancies a move to Madrid or elsewhere. I suppose the difference with Kane compared to the City duo is his age. Could possibly work in our favour.

Hojlund could play wide forward when necessary. You can also drop Kane in at 10 and play Bruno as a narrow wide forward, with Kane timing late runs in to get on the end of Bruno's crosses whilst still having 2 runners (Rashford and Hojlund) to work off Kane and BF.

I'm not saying you spend 100m to get that, but if Kane's available on a free, wages aside, there's almost no reason not to try and secure him for a good 3 years at least before he goes to US (or back to Tottenham) for money and brand and eventually doing his NFL kicker-thing/sentimental home coming respectively.

If there’s one thing that always works with Levy it’s trying to bully him.

Yeah that's what I would like to happen but won't due to him moving to Bayern now (most likely) or Utd deciding that they have their striker now and no desire to sign another even on a free

Suppose it depends on if the takeover happens or not. If we're taken over and he becomes available you can't miss a player of his calibre.

Also depends how hojlund performs, if hes scored 20 come season end probably not. Although admittedly thats not likely to happen.

If this is true, the deal will get done, maybe with a bit more haggling over the terms of the bonuses.

If the Van de Ven and Veliz transfers go through, Spurs will also have spent >200m euro this summer (including making the transfers of Porro and Kulu permanent) with almost nothing coming from other sales. They will take a big revenue hit with no European football next year and have only once (last summer) spent over 100m net in a window. I don't see Levy dropping 200m net this summer.

Take a step back and the most likely scenario is that a sale happens and Spurs have just been getting their ducks in line in terms of buys so that clubs don't totally rinse them knowing the Kane money is sitting in their accounts.

That’s a ridiculous bargain for Bayern if it gets done at that level. It just makes so little sense for Kane though - hope he sees some sense and rejects it.

Levy would be mental to refuse that

Because he should be looking at getting a large slice of that transfer fee as a free agent next year instead. I also won’t repeat my views on him moving to the Bundesliga, save to say that I doubt that is his league of choice.
