If you're hiding from the ball you'll never be the worst player on the pitch. Fred throws himself about so everything he does good and bad gets noticed, that's why people think he's worse. It’s amazing what hiding from the ball can mask people’s judgement of his actual contribution.
At the end of the day, he’s a midfielder who can’t tackle, puts in the least effort in our midfield and barely touches the ball but people think he’s good and will perform better when played in his proper position.
I can excuse the shit performance for being played out of position, but not the lack of effort. He’s a woeful player who made a mockery of our academy supposedly prioritising football skills over athleticism.
JWP is miles better so it’s a no brainier, his set pieces alone can win you games when you didn’t deserve a point.Good luck to them. They will be the same price so I guess it’s on David Moyes.
It is definitely the other way around. Paqueta was rated very highly whilst when he went to Milan. Still shocking that City would pay 70m for him nonetheless.I always thought Paqueta was poor man’s Fred…

It doesn't really matter if you are selling both, the amount is the same.
If the option was one or the other, mctominay is 100% profit, Maguire is minus 20m odd
Yeah that's true. No club would touch him with a barge pole. Maybe on a free though.True but what difference does it make. No matter what region of the table you’re fighting, a club just can’t rely on him
Romano confirming City interest in Paqueta. Sort of amazing West Ham could get 180m plus for a midfield that nearly got relegated. Then again Southampton are getting 80m plus for one that did.
Don’t be complaining when Casemiro is unavaliable and McTominay is starting then.Yeah I don't really see the rush to let McTominay go. He's a decent player and can fill in just fine. Maguire is a bigger issue because his confidence is shot.

Is that what you want? Cos that’s what’ll happen.
ah cheers, thought there were some rules about youth that counted for more spending allowance when selling

It has zero impact for us if JWP goes through. Can't see WH spending 40m on another CM when they will have to buy a AM.This would be great news for us, but £70M for Paqueta sounds kind of bizarre, so Ill believe it when I see it.
What are your thoughts on that?Man City were considering Paqueta last year.
if McTominay is willing to join West Ham, we'll end up signing him.
What are your thoughts on that?
Without sounding condescending I hope but I think he'd be spot on for you! He is great at driving forward and is a physical presence. Hes a decent passer of the ball.I'm okay with it. I think we'll sign about four for midfield by the end of the window - Alvarez should be through today.
A lot less. He’s our biggest outgoing asset we have right now. The £35-40m we can/are commanding for him is easily the most we’ll get for a single sale this summer. How much would he be worth after another season on the bench?
Both the club and a large collection of fans think that players are Pokemons that we must collect and that we should have a squad of 30+ players, with 10+ homegrown players. Just in case something happens. Screw the quality, we just need to have bodies there.Big mistake not selling him. We seem insistent to have the biggest collection of midfielders who are weak on the ball in deeper areas.

This sell was a no brainer. Sell a player that we do not need at all, sign with a portion of that money Amrabat whom we really need, slightly improving the cash flow while doing wonders for FFP. If West Ham really now go for someone else, we are stuck with a player who will start 6 matches next season, and we won’t be able to sell for even 20m next summer.
And don’t let me started about Maguire. It is a competition in stupidity between West Ham and Man United, with West Ham offering more money than they should, and United somehow rejecting the bid.
Yeah. By all means squeeze as much as you can get for him but if 30/35m is the most we can get, we should take it.A lot less. He’s our biggest outgoing asset we have right now. The £35-40m we can/are commanding for him is easily the most we’ll get for a single sale this summer.
We played very deep last season and he was shit. He was even worse the season before that. And in the first two seasons, he had half a season when he was great, with the other 1.5 seasons being decent.Living up to your tagline I see. And Maguire would be great for West ham. He was part of a good Leicester team as well. It's just that he isn't suited to high line pressing football we want to play and has suffered a loss in form.
Is he? McTominay is awful at protecting the back 4.
What would you consider a fair price?
Because he's terrible at football. This really isn't a difficult question.Soton wont sell JWP for £30 million, Rice cost £100m, Havertz cost £65`m, City value Paqueta at at least £70 m - with these prices, why wouldn't McTominay be worth £40 m ?
Even if for a moment we assume that being great at headers is enough to claim that a player is brilliant at protecting the back 4, McTominay is not great at winning headers. His aerial duel win rate last season was 59.6%, his all time EPL aerial win rate is 60.6%. We played as deep as you can get during these years.McT is brilliant at protecting the back 4 in a team that is parking the bus - because he wins so many headers. He would do really well at West Ham

Yep. Don't know what games they are watching. Never makes himself available for a pass. Scared of the ball.He really, really isn't.
He puts the back four under immense pressure because he constantly hides and never shows for the ball meaning riskier play outs needed.
