Our net spend is dropping rather low especially if we get a few more exits yet.
Was always going to happen this summer. We held off from selling players last summer due to the free agent exodus coupled with Ten Hag wanting to assess the players himself.
If anything we should sell more this summer, it’s basically two summers outgoings in one

Then she sucks on my balls
Not sure if it's in Todibo's interest to come to United and if he's the good profile for us.

I mean, usually you would like to get to type of CB, one more agressive than the other one, but in Varane, Lindelof and Todibo we would have 3 same type of player.

I don't know if Todibo is really better than Lindelof, and I imagine a CB pairing Lindelof Todibo, it can be really thin physically.

To be honest, I would take Evans as a 4th CB this season and try to replace Varane next year.
Evans a player we let go 8 years ago that's not progress sorry I respect him for his service to us but this is madness we need competition for places not to stagnate plus he looked awful in the last pre season game.

How much is he on FPL?
4.5m, same as Mings and Botman.

I think Maguire will do well at West Ham. But both Villa and Newcastle have better managers whose teams will concede fewer goals. I'm going to stick with Mings, myself.

Nooooo, my sweet prince. Say it isn't so. :(

He should turn West Ham down. Top 5 Defenders in the World (TM) don't end up at West Ham. Come on Harry, say NO!

Sorry it has not worked out for him here , he is not as bad as many here make out but not an ETH type player and good enough for a team with title aspirations and currently going through a crisis of confidence.

Another loss on a big signing ,but best decision for all parties.

Hopefully he can get his career back on track with the hammers and if he does then for 30M they will have got a very good deal on a decent player.

You see when posters kept saying they wanted West Ham to go down earlier this year and I was saying we need them to stay up for our car boot sale. This is it. They have always looked the best PL fit for most of our dead wood. They need to come back in for Scott now and their work will be done.

Quotes from West Ham fans:

Can’t wait to sell him in two years for $10m
Sell? I think you mean pay him to feck off
30m for a 30 year old fridge. When Moyes is sacked by christmas the next manager will have to get rid of Maguire anyway. Such a bad use of the Rice funds.
It genuinely hurts my soul that football is starting again
Please reject us Harry
Was trying to stay postive, but after the news about Paqueta and the likely signing off Maguire I’m struggling.

Looks like signing Maguire will move us to 5 at the back, and if we do loose Paqueta we will lose the creativity from midfield. The football next year could be shocking, sitting back massively and lumping it to Antonio
Waking up to us overpaying heavily for Maguire and potentially losing our Brazilian star to fecking City. Put me back to sleep
Well time to delete some tweets See you lads in 9 hours
Personal terms though, he has to take a massive pay cut and play for a "small team" like us, theres still hope
FFS. Anyone want two good season tickets?
Rough morning...

Neither of them is better than Paquetta or Antonio. But they would be some of their best players. I do not rate either of them at all, but I think that Maguire is going to be their best defender.
Antonio? Both are comfortably better Micahail Antonio.. at least based on last season.

Not over the moon, but content. The fee seems quite low, hope West Ham compensate for the salary difference somehow.

If we can get Todibo for a similar price, a player with more potential, less wages and more fitted to EtH's tactics, that's good business. Maguire being 30 years helps, didnt realise that.

His worth will soon deteriorate.

Good news for everyone.

Maguire not half as bad as people have made out, but clearly not suited to the football the manager wants to play. Forgetting the inhospitable atmosphere the thick end of our fan base attempted to conspire, he's a player on too much money who holds too much ambition to play fifth or sixth fiddle.

Great value for West Ham and another question mark scrubbed off for us.

Good luck to Maguire. I'm sure we all wished it had worked out better.

Soon? He's about 10 more appearances away from being given away on a free. He can't keep making the mistakes he's making and for us to expect to get a fee for him.

With his depreciation he is only worth £34m on our books so at £30m it is only a slight loss. Also saving £9.5m in wages a year for another 3 years is great.

Moyes doesn’t play the same style as ETH so I imagine he’ll look better in a West Ham team. Maguire is just really unsuited to an ETH team.

I‘ve said it before somewhere else but to try and use Cricket as an analogy, Maguire in this Utd/ETH team is like putting 1970s Geoffrey Boycott in the current day England cricket team who play Bazball. Boycott would look terrible in it and would stick out like a sore thumb but the system doesn’t suit his strengths, which wouldn’t mean he’s a bad cricketer… just like Maguire isn’t necessarily a bad defender.

Just was never right for us, yes his first season was good and looked to be worth the 80mil we paid but had been pretty bad since. He is more suited to a team like WHU and will preserve his England status while there. All the boos and crap he took was justified to an extent, some of it way over the top. He deserves another chance at some other club, with him being 30 and us building for the future, it was always going to come to this. Thank you Harry for that first season and best of luck.

Good move for maguire, he will do a job for them. He still has something to offer, just not for us.

Pathetic fee reflects how low he has sunk, but I'm happy to see Maguire get a chance to rebuild his career and stop being a meme. Think he will do well for Moyes

West Ham fans don’t seem ecstatic with this transfer, for some reason

Doubt they'll be this unhappy when he's one of their best players
Yeah I agree, but they seem to think they're a team that's capable of playing some kind of free flowing football and Maguire goes against the "West Ham way", whatever the feck that is.

He'll improve them and the improve the way Moyes likes to play, as long as he goes back to no nonsense defending and less of the cleaver shit that he can't do.

Great news. Unlike some I have no hate for the guy, but it just makes no sense to have him in the squad. You don't need two backup centre backs both entering their 30s. Better to have one older that can provide experience and a younger prospect who has a shot at becoming a first teamer in a season or two when they've developed.

Plus of course there's a bit of a circus surrounding Maguire that we could do without, even though he's never been a problem in public.

Good bit of business to get £30m and shift his wages. He won't be missed at all, but at the same time I feel he'll probably be pretty good for West Ham. Moyesball will be much more suited to his talents.

He will do well in West Ham. Not good enough for us in the way we wants to play, but more than good enough for a midtable team fighting for Conference. Will do him wonders not to be under the pressure his been under the last years to.

Wish him good luck, and glad it seems like we moved on.

It is not though. It is the highest ever fee for a CB who is 30 years old or more. Just cause we overpaid Leicester by 30-40m when he was 26 (and actually good), doesn't mean that 30m is a pathetic fee. Raphael fecking Varane after winning a World Cup, 4 UCL, being likely a top 3 CB in the world, at 28 years old actually cost 34m.

This. New club he will be better. If you go back to his 1st season at united he played well.
