I’d really value it if he goes and continues doing this in the La Liga & Serie A the way he is in the PL - no reason he shouldn’t.

I value consistency & versatility really highly - much more than technique or consistency in 1 league.

Like a GP vs a specialist doctor of a single sector/role.

He won't leave EPL. EPL nowadays is like Serie A in the 90s. It has 6 teams competing for the top 4 spots. Villa and Brighton are doing really well last season as well.

Did you watch R9 play? (Not being rude genuine question cos in my head he was still playing 10 years ago at his peak)

But do want to say Halaand is an absolutely incredible goal scorer, not dismissing him at all. But I prefer R9 for many reasons

Not yet but I don’t see why he would be loyal to City especially after Pep goes (which looks like next season).

Madrid would be stupid not to go for him (he doesn’t even have a high transfer history considering how city hid/lied about it).

I can imagine Haaland leaving when he is 25 ish & achieved as much as he could with City.

He's scored plenty of goals in 4 leagues now, one of them the strongest league and the other one third strongest league. I don't see how going to the 4th strongest league would tell us anything we don't know about him.

What do you mean? I think he is world class.

I just think he can go even up a level up to GOATs type of talking about if he did this at some more clubs during his career like Real Madrid.

Would he be viewed the same quality of player if he did this scoring only for City for his whole entire career post 21 -

Or he did it at his first club, Dortmund, City & then a new club or league of Real Madrid aswell?

Agree 100%, bus drivers are better drivers than formula 1 dudes cause they can drive cars and buses. Also if I need my car serviced I prefer the local handyman to a mechanic.

He scored 8 goals in 6 games in CL for Salzburg, 15 in 13 for Dortmund and has 24 in 25 for his national team. He already has proven himself.

Not many people did he was always out injured
His time with PSV, Barcelona and first 2 years with Inter was unreal. However even without his knee injuries, his longevity will be similar to Ronaldinho given his life style.

Surely you mean best pure goalscorer?. As a package, R9 for 2 years of his career was the best ever. Personally, Henry at Arsenal would still be my preference in premier league.

He will go down as one of the best pure goalscorers ever similar to Gerd Muller whether he stays at City or moves elsewhere. But deficiencies in other aspects of his game will always prevent him from being recognised as a true GOAT candidate.

He currently the 180th highest scorer in Premier League history, if he matches last seasons output he'll be at 63.

If he ups his current rate slightly, he could break top 10 in the next three seasons.

A genuine freak of nature.

He's a cheat code. We can only hope he fecks off to Madrid in a few years.

His goals in today's match were a great indication. A LOT of strikers don't get to the chance before the defender on that first goal. His instincts in the box in terms of freeing himself into a bit of space and then sniffing where chances will fall are really top class. And most strikers don't bury the second goal so clinically. Whether you use the eye test or the data, the guy is an absolute elite finisher. Statistically, his goals versus XG is crazy and that sets him apart from a ton of other top class strikers that have also been very good at getting on the end of chances but were surprisingly pedestrian in terms of their odds of finishing them.

Couldn’t say the same. If City don’t click he struggles to influence the game. He was a bit of non factor in their biggest games last season. Someone like Mbappe is much more capable of winning a game if things aren’t going his side’s way.

He's a goal scoring machine.

Practically a goal a game player over the last 4 years, in 2 different leagues.

137 goals in 142 games in a 4 year period, they're freakish numbers, and he's still only 23.

Yeah he hasn't got that dribbling ability to create chances for himself all the time, but I think we saw glimpses today of City adapting to him even more. They were more willing to hit the long ball over the top to him

He's the most perfect scoring machine in football currently, that's beyond any doubt. It will be interesting to see if he can repeat last season's output.

My guess is that he falls off a bit and 'only' scores 25-30 goals this season.

It's funny how people are over the top when the subject is football.

At the end of last season, Haaland wasn't that great, just a limited poacher who made City play worse football. Now, after scoring two goals against the almighty Burley, he's possibly the best striker of all time.

With Kane gone I don't think I remember a time where there was such a distance between the best striker in the league and number 2 (whoever that might be).

Absolutely. I have never seen anything like that from any striker. I wonder how is he compared with other all time best strikers like R9, Muller, Eusebio at similar age in top level football:

Haaland
at 19: 44 goals in 40 games
at 20: 41 goals in 41 games
at 21: 29 goals in 30 games
at 22: 52 goals in 53 games

R9
at 18: 35 goals in 36 games
at 19: 19 goals in 21 games
at 20: 47 goals in 49 games
at 21: 34 goals in 47 games

Esuebio
at 19: 29 goals in 31 games
at 20: 38 goals in 39 games
at 21: 46 goals in 28 games
at 22: 48 goals in 38 games

Muller
at 20: 16 goals in 39 games
at 21: 43 goals in 45 games
at 22: 30 goals in 46 games
at 23: 37 goals in 35 games

The fact that he does it in the toughest league during one of the most physical and defensively organised era was even more impressive to me.
