Are the Liverpool people not getting that Chelsea are probably stalling the announcement of accepted terms on the Brighton deal just so they can have the Lavia deal done to the point Liverpool can’t pivot back?

They reportedly already agreed to match or go above Liverpools fee, they apparently submitted everything, and now they are conveniently going over minute details of dates of the payments, etc, while the Lavia deal is being finalized?

As a Chelsea fan it makes me nervous because I just want the Caicedo thing finished.

But if I were a Liverpool fan I’d be thinking “we CAN’T get beat for both, get in there!!!”

Surely Liverpool can see what’s cooking, and the idea that Chelsea are in a room with Brighton but “haven’t submitted an offer yet” is BS, right?

If they are really trying to get both, you wont see an announcement on Caicedo until after Lavia is done … because that’s the easier one for Pool to grab back.
We’re not willing to match what Southampton want for Lavia so we weren’t getting him either way.

Perfect opportunity for an enterprising scouse thief to turn his home in Brighton over one last time.

i reckon they’re way too hetero to be seen anywhere near brighton. the lads wouldn’t let them back in the feathers for a carling if they knew they’d been down in bum town.

I bet the FA would step in to stop Chelsea doing this.
depends if klopp okays it imo.

As a Liverpool fan we have other areas to strengthen, mainly defence. We do not need Caicedo as desperately as you think. And we certainly don't value Lavia more than £40m so never went too high.

Once we get Chelsea in sufficient FFP trouble we'll go for Andre, much cheaper option. Brighton and Liverpool fans are pretty relaxed from what I can see.
Even you don’t believe what you type. Not sure who you think you’re convincing. Saying less would show more indifference. :wenger:

So, you're going into the season with two new midfielders and a crock, and i'm not convienced you believe you defense is all that. It looked pretty done in preseason

He'd do scousers a favor by not joining them. Skill is undeniable but he's not prime Zidane and comes with a baggage carrying the attitude and professionalism of Pogba.

One saving grace for the Scouse is that they play Chelsea in London when they are probably at their lowest. I bet some of their first team players don't even know the full names of all the squad players. Chelsea will definitely be a very strong side by the end of the year, injuries permitting.

That's funny, I'm sure you're really chilled about not having a DM with the season started, having shown all your cards, no Liverpool fan has ever given Utd barrels of stick about doing similar. Definitely.

As a Liverpool fan how can you possibly think you have other areas that need strengthening more than midfield. You’ve currently got Curtis Jones as your CDM option ffs.

Not sure who you’re trying to kid to suggest you’re not desperate for Caicedo. Liverpool’s £110m bid suggests differently.

Dont think the FA can really veto that surely? As long as the deal is done paperwork wise Chelsea could parachute him in to the stadium if they wanted to.

I said we're finishing second way before the Moises chat started. So yeah I'm chilled.

I’d imagine they could advise them not to on the basis it could incite the away crowd and Chelsea would be in trouble if they ignored it and there was trouble off the back of it.

That part doesn't make sense to me. I guess you have a valuation on Lavia, but what's the point of trying to save 5 million there and then spend 110 on Caicedo?

Actually forget Caicedo and the 110. If you identify Lavia as the midfielder to get (which you clearly need, ie a midfielder) why haggle over 5 million with the season about to start?

Yep. Nothing desperate about a 110m£ bid.

I don’t know tbh. It’s odd to me as well. This wouldn’t have happened when Edwards was at the club. Nothing against who is in that position now but Edwards had transfers working fairly smoothly without things like this happening.

We also need a CB. When (not if) Konate gets injured, Gomez and Matip will struggle with TAA wondering into midfield. The signs were there from pre season.

But a DM should be priority.

Sure. Good luck with that.

I was actually hoping they would wake up because I don’t know that I want Lavia.

What’s really funny is gonna be the look on peoples faces if we actually sell Kepa, Gallagher, and Chalobah and Chelsea shows a net profit from this window with how they have it structured.

I don't understand why they didn't try their hand at getting Kane if they had this kind of money to spend. Seems odd not going for a position that was a significant problem for them last season.

Haven't they signed like a million midfielders since Boehly took over already?

Spurs wouldnt sell Kane to Chelsea.

Kane wouldn't join Chelsea.

A total non-starter of a transfer.

Hasn’t he got a thigh injury? How do you pass a medical with a current injury?

Does Todd just want to win the transfer windows? At least the likes of this and Rice are taking the limelight off of Hojlund in terms of mega money purchases and the immediate performances following it.

You moved on from Lavia because you stick rigidly to valuations and you don't desperately need a midfielder anyway, but just conjured £111 million from somewhere to make a British transfer record-breaking bid for Caicedo.

Try harder.
