Liverpool are focusing on Gravenberch now after acquiring Endo. They aren't looking at Amrabat at this time.
The fact there are no progressive talks or reliable reports of Liverpool making a move for Amrabat makes me feel it’s inevitable he ends up at Utd. Liverpool are desperate for someone of his profile and he’s also a player available with only 1 year remaining. You would expect it to be an obvious signing if he wasn’t already heading somewhere else. Let’s hope so anyway.

I don't understand the plan with this one. Everyone saying "we need more numbers in midfield" and "the midfield needs sorted".

Who's getting dropped for Amrabat? Casemiro? Mount? Or Bruno? Mounts just been signed and EtH obviously really wanted him so I doubt that's happening.

What do people think Amrabat would be other than back-up for Casemiro?

Or are we expecting a change in formation?
Fred and McTominay appeared more than 80 times combined over the past season. You reckon there won't be any minutes for Amrabat if he joined?

I'm not sure it's "just" FFP but the club maybe not having the cashflow irrespective of how books are presented.
The club has the cash flow and could easily get more if needed. We're not singing players unless we offload other players due to FFP. We got a small fine recently and the club is scared of getting another one. What they don't realise that having players that we don't want on the books is worse than a fine and hurts cash flow.

Seriously, this post has to be a piss take. Do you realise we have potentially 70 games next season.

Do you think Casemeiro is going to play all of these?

38 league
15 champions league
7 Fa Cup
8 league cup.

numbers above mightn’t be 100% exact but there or there abouts

It does seem the player has his mind set on joining us.

Which is why there hasn't been any reliable reports about interest from other clubs.

I have no idea how we will line up when Casemiro is rested or even hurt. Not saying Amrabat would solve all those problems but goodness we need someone who cam play some DM.
Yeah ideally we would have bought him AND someone who could offer us ball carrying like Thuram/Sangare. That way you have that blend of a passer and progressor

Today reports, say Utd have made no move or offer for Amrabat.
Only enquiries with the player’s agent.

Is it all made up press talk again, like 90% of all the players we’re linked to?

I suspect we have made it known that we admire him but realistically we’re skint at the moment

Don’t know about Casemiro, but not sure United is going to play all of these. ;)

It’s nothing to do with FFP that’s an excuse not to spend it’s all down to cash and the lack of it. We’ve spent far more than the folks peddling the FFP line said. I’m in the we will sign Amrabat camp but only after ETH forces those above to act and loosen the purse strings.

Yeah I came to the conclusion that we’re actually skint atm. If it were FFP, we could’ve just take the penalty and move on. Even City are still very much in the league despite their blatant cheating. Or we could just buy Amrabat first and worry about player sales later. I can’t understand why we NEED to sell before we can pull the trigger. Unless there’s another angle I’m not seeing?

Coffers empty for real.
Or the Glazers being tight fisted, after all they maybe thought they'd sold or it was (is ?) their last summer. Don't want to add more debt or reduce their last dividends.

Realistically United is still the 3rd biggest net spender, 6th gross spender (as of today) worldwide for transfers... At one point if we preach financial sustainability and a better run club, someone has to say "ok that's enough money used this year".
Maybe if United had shaved 10-15m over the fees of the three recruitments, bought a 30m€ GK instead of a 50m€ one or sold better we could have added a secondary signing.

Jeez that would hurt and basically means that La Nazione is the Fiorentina version of what we got with il Mattino from Napoli

Should have accepted 30m for McTominay. Very good offer despite what a lot posters seem to think. If he was any good or worth more, he would have more suitors and higher offers.

It's all to do with FFP, if you think we're strapped for cash then you must have missed the fact we've been spending massively for many years. Yeah, all of a sudden we can't afford Amrabat...

If we need cash we can get investors to generate some as other clubs have done.

Absolute travesty the club didn’t move for him earlier. Got hammered on here for saying Mount was a bad signing. What a waste of 60 million . Could signed Amrabat and Gravenberch with that money and have a much stronger midfield

Great. Lets buy two more of Ten Hag's guys.

What are we going do with all of Ten Hag's former Dutch League players when he gets the sack ?
I'd say it's not necessarily fair to Amrabat. Yes he crossed paths with ten Hag but he's made his mark elsewhere.

Yeah I’m sick of them too!! Gets some bloody players suited to this league. Even if it means picking Onana over all of these targets.

Would anyone be interested in Amrabat had it not been for The World Cup?
I don't know. But they worked together at Utrecht 6 seasons ago. Amrabat made his way to Fiorentina (and the Morocco team, he barely played in youth games for them) on his own merit. I'd say it's reductive to say he's just a "ten Hag guy".

What does this even mean? Why are we supposed to ignore the WC… And yes he’s been a good midfielder for Fiorentina with over 100 games for them.. Players performing like that at mid table clubs tend to get looked at by bigger clubs than Fiorentina.

Sort of transfer a new owner would make without much hesitation or drama...well you can hope that would be the case.

But the Glazers response would probable be..."you have Donny and McTom, why do you want more money for Amrabat?'

It means that, are his performances for Fiorentina good enough, on a consistent basis to justify a move to United? Have you seen him weekly for Fiorentina?

There is a history of players that are outstanding in World Cups or Euros that fail once they get the big transfer. We all remember Poborsky.

Or they might say. We just singed you Mount, why do you need a new starting CM?
