That goal might end up being crucial if it somehow comes down to a final game with Bayern to determine winner of the group.
Lets see how we will deal with the other teams first shouldn't we?

Goes to show how shit we've been this season that I feel more optimistic after watching that.
:D I laughed and cryed at the same time

My only real issue with the outcome tonight was that pen. All the other goals were down to us playing like shit or playing well. But that pen, which has turned out to be the decider was fecking stupid. I have no idea why both teams, all teams in the CL aren't just running up and down the pitch toe blasting the ball into players arms in the box from a half yard away. Absolutely ridiculous decision that was all the more suspicious when it was "check over" before "actually no, we're going to check it again.".
I think, if the game would have been more in limbo, Bayern might have been a little more serious for the whole time. Not like they were swimming or anything. You can't just take away a goal shortly after half time and act as if the rest of the game would have been exactly the same. Bayern wasn't fantastic but they were better than us.

I’m going to be positive in this post before I go battering certain players in their respective player threads.

Yes Bayern were the better side but the truth is a goalkeeper howler and a dodgy penalty is why they’re walking away with 3 points.

I dont think i have ever seen us as bad in a game where we scored 4 goals, hit the post 2 times and had a bunch of other good chances.

I think most of you are too harsh with your team. Your season will turn out good i think, im wishing you all the best, cheers.
Thanks very much.

Good luck for the season as well.

This was just as bad as Liverpool, Brentford away, except they weren’t really able to punish us and we got a couple of lucky late goals similar to how we somehow got the result to a mere 6-3 at Etihad when we should have lost 9-0.

Positives.

Rasmus got his first goal, so that’s out of the way.

Pellistri got a good run out and was fairly effective early on, when we were doing OK.
Don’t forget, he hasn’t had more than infrequent minutes and needs more game time after this. He will get better if given the chance.

Reguilon is giving his all and looking good for that LB spot.
Excellent effort.

Garnacho back to his impact sub form.
His confidence needs it after his previous disappointing displays.

We finally showed some fight and determination, even if it was too late and a consolation for this match.
That fighting, team spirit has been a key missing ingredient.
This is one of the most important elements ETH has to in-still in this squad.
He has to use this result and how the game panned out, as a motivating drive for the next game on Saturday.

Neutral assessment; don’t even think Bayern were that good, thought you were on top really first 20-25 minutes, just the same as Saturday against us. Freak goal from a poor goalkeeping mistake, then dreadful defending for the second goal.

Weird game. Massive problems in your defensive midfield and defensive play generally.

i dont like the fact Onana has already run to the media. Cry me a river please, he needs to forget about the media straight away after a loss and start thinking of improving. Its not in his best interest to run to the press. They will slaughter him. lets hope he is serious about this and improves.

Bayern the best side in Europe ? I am all for being optimistic but this is a bit delusional. I dividual mistakes cost us today.
I think they currently are. After signing Kane and Kim in the summer I think they’re favourites.

(I don’t count any teams with 115 charges over them because any team in that situation is blatantly cheating so can’t be taken seriously)

Did a decent to poor job. Pellestri should have got that penalty and Kane should not have got that penalty.
On another day we come back with a draw or a win. Given our injuries and form, it is a pretty decent result from one of the toughest games of the group.

Come on. He's a new player and he wants to take responsibility. If he turns into a United lad posting apologies every other week (or more often) then sure, it's going to be quite wet. But this shows good character.

Should stop with all these gimmicks and concentrate on improving himself. A goal is a result of actions of many team mates. A GK would want to improve and can improve, but you cant guarantee shit.

Somebody should talk to him to stop running to the press for all these.

Where to begin. My biggest complaint about the ETH is that he seemed to be happy with keeping it at 3-1 no attacking subs until 80th minute. Then you knew Rashford wasn’t going to get subbed.

Positives:
Casemiro was much improved, not just the goals. Reggulion looks good. Hujland needs service but has shown he’ll take his chances if he gets then. Martinez seems to be regaining match fitness, we forget he suffered a serious injury last season.

Negatives
We seem to have “untouchables” in Bruno and Rashford who will never subbed. This then means players who are playing better or are more suitable get subbed and other players get played out of position.

I would rather lose like that tonight than some of the lacklustre performances of late

I give up with our fanbase, someone makes a mistake, comes out and takes responsibility and it's a "gimmick"

Also, kind of worrying how Regullion, a player surplus to requirements at Spurs, looks like our best player since arriving here

Hojlund was decent and good to get him off the mark. Encouraged to see him find the net in his two starts even if one was disallowed.
Reguilon was mint first half, not so much second but if he keeps this up he could be a real asset.
Cas showed up with 2 goals - close but no cigar.
Other than that, more of the same half assed depressing rubbish.

Dunno what the Bayern weird sitting in front of their fans at the end was about. Least enthusiastic victory celebration I’ve seen.

I admire his accountability. At least he knows he needs to improve.
I do not like these Twitter / X posts, but if this is a direct quote, then I can only commend the guy. At least he is telling it how it is. I think Onana is going to be an asset to our team, I do. Keeper's make bad errors, all keeper's do. It's how they respond. DDG was battered for a few games when he arrived, many, many doubted his ability. SAF and the players stuck with him and the rest is history.

That is not the gimmick. Asking for an interview when he is not scheduled for one is the "gimmick".
It is unnecessary. It is the same crap like players going on their social media and posting "We know we have let you down today. Will keep our heads high and make you happy next time" after every loss.

I agree with you but he has done a lot of talking to the press since he has been here. i like people who play and not talk. i am not disagreeing with you that he doesnt want to take responsibility but we need him to be a leader. I dont want to bring Maguire situation up but hes he has been been very media friendly.

People will always complain, but I saw signs of life today away at a very tough ground.
Get back to winning ways now in the PL.

On another day, we could easily have taken something from this.

People are completely insane, they expect footballers to perform like robots but then moan when they are robotic off the pitch but then also moan when they act like humans.

No it isn't, that shite's written by PR reps and is quite literally avoiding putting themselves out there to front up.

We got robbed of a clear penalty and then our goalkeeper makes an amateurish mistake. Unfortunately this group of players doesn't have the mettle to recover from that.

At least the other game in group was a draw.
