What the feck was Chris Wilder trying to do with that pitch invasion?

Don't care how we did it, it's 3 big fat points!

To be fair we did much better after the subs. Important thing is to win even though we're not playing well.

Expected a lot more. The first half performance was woeful, we brought it back in the second. The team we finished with controlled the game much better. Very worried about the City game.

Decent game from Maguire, Evans, Amrabat in the end.

Predictably abysmal from the usual suspects. Rashford, Bruno, the invisible (scots)man.

Delighted with the three points, worried by the lineup, tactics and performance. Huge credit to the defence, they’ve come together and been the best unit on the pitch tonight, despite being used as an excuse for our poor performances.

When our attackers start contributing to goals we'll be unstoppable

Pretty professional in the end. Need so much more though. Composure, discipline, energy all lacking.

My commentator said Maguire has won 15 of the last 16 he's started. If thats right...he kind of has a point!!!

I understand we have defensive injuries. But it'd be nice if our best players can step up once in a while. We're bailed by players who weren't initially meant to start games this season.

Glad that all of our regular scapegoats played well. That's it.

Eriksen changed the game, so good to have a player with composure in the middle of the park. Kept the ball well and played smart progressive passes through the lines.

One of the sweetest strikes I can remember in recent times, but of course this is unfortunately a squad and a club that is going nowhere.

Really Horrible first half, we looked far better after 60 minutes. Controlled the game for the last half hour and should really have buried at least two more clear chances.
We much brighter with Garnacho and Erikson on.
City next… gulp

Lindelof should be credited with an assist - he assisted Dalot.

Poor 1st half, dramatically better 2nd half.

Maguire was a rock today, great to see! Wonderful strike by Dalot too!

3 points! The main thing.

Slightly improved in the second half, and when you look at the chances both team created, we deserved to win.

Onto the next!

City will maul us in the next game as they try and get back in form after a dip is their usual way of convincingly dispatching teams

How many games have we played this season where we can say we were the better team? Even in the games we've won.
We were the better side tonight to be fair. Not that we were any good though, Sheffield were atrocious.

We managed to go from absolutely dreadful to merely below average. I take nothing from this result. There's zero indication of patterns of play, zero indication of how we want to impose ourselves on teams.

They couldn’t get out of their own box for 90 percent of that second half. I’m not sure how much we could do apart from the final act of scoring a goal

Big question mark over ETH. What is this.. we play so horrible that we can’t even control a game against the worst team in the league.

Never thought I will vote Maguire as MoM nowadays. Been criticising his performances in recent times. Credit where's due, he has been solid and dominating for the whole game. One of his best performances. The game scoreline should have much better if our attackers can put in more serious efforts in the final third and not being wasteful of chances that need to be taken. The late chance from Martial that Garnacho missed was criminal. These are chances that top teams like City will finish it easily 99% of time because they are well drilled in doing it. You can't miss such chances.

I think we were unlucky not to score more, that Garnacho chance, Hojlund could've had a couple and hitting the woodwork twice.

Agreed. To be honest, he's better coming from the bench. Just can't do it for 90 minutes I don't think. Anyway, did really well coming on today and in the last game.

Horrible. 2nd half was definitely better after the subs, though. City are going to have fun with us next weekend.

Scott McTominay is never a midfielder, he's a brilliant scoring option to come off the bench, but we were expectedly horrid before the changes, mainly because we were playing with 10 men. I hope this foolish experiment is over.

A win is a win. Tottenham will go top of the table on Monday and they needed goals in the 98th and 100th to beat Sheffield United at home

Match winning goal was a strike that the late Bobby would be proud of.

Although we won, let's not sugar coat it. The football has been piss poor since ten hag has took over, we have even started to show regression. Sick of the injury talk too, the players should be comfortably better than the opposition today regardless given there own injury crisis. It's not good enough, I don't see it changing with him really. He will just come out and rabbit some crap about standards when game after game we are at ground zero for any form of standards. One more moan is why are all these players incapable of delivering a cross or threatening ball which actually clears the 1st man. Getting to the point of being unwatchable

Confusing. Our attacking players all play their best (or least terrible) football with the ball at their feet so we opt for the let's get Maguire to hoof long balls at them approach. I genuinely don't know what style of play we're attempting these days. Throw enough shit at the wall and hope something sticks.
