No manager could fix this fecking mess. The players he tried on last season have proven to be either injury prone, or potential flashes in the pan (Rashford’s goal haul last year).

Whilst we have to rely on the likes of Rashford (LVG), Bruno, (Ole), McT (Jose), Dalot (Jose) and Maguire (Ole) then we’re never making progress.

ETH needs to be brave enough to take some of these players out because they’ll ultimately cost him his job.
Well we might as well try? You don’t know until you actually try but you definitely shouldn’t stick with one that definitely can’t.

He could've spent some of that £400m replacing the players you mentioned. But hey, I guess no one can fix a team with a measly £400m and 18 months of time to identify and fix issues

crazy to think some on here still think he's the right man, -5 GD, 5 defeats in 10, just 11 scored. zero playing style.

He is the one I've been most optimistic about since Fergie because I believed we needed a progressive coach who is hands on and actively works on developing a pro active playing style. Moyes and Ole were are not coaches, Jose is but his emphasis is reactive whereas LvG just seemed a bit past his time.

Something is wrong though when after this long, the team still plays with no offensive coherence whatsoever. In theory, you don't need any recruitment to have blueprint on how your team plays as we've seen from many coaches. You don't necessary see success and there will be missing parts but the general idea and vision should be in full view relatively quick. It's really hard to explain why he is failing at this, my only interpretation is that he was stuck between the pressure of having to deliver results at a club like ours and the need to build a cohesive setup. Managing us is more pressurizing than Liverpool or Arsenal or anyone really in England. Nothing else makes sense because we know he has the competence to produce better than this, maybe not win the league but certainly better football than a Championship team which is what we saw this season. The only reason we're not lower down the table is individual quality. I am afraid he just lacks the convinction and/or personality to have a clear vision and sticks to it or the leadership qualities to get everyone moving in the same direction and buying into his methods. The worry is if he couldn't do that by now, there is very little to suggest he will ever be able to.

He's absolutely shit but I don't care enough to want him sacked. These players keep getting bailed out by managers getting sacked so feck them.

Take us to the 12th, Erik. None of it fecking matters.

Antony signing was a big red flag last year. A player he knows very well having coached him for years, and he thought he could step up to the PL.

And there's that quote about him saying Pep underestimated the premier league? Has to be fake

Comparison to 10 games in the seasons Jose and Ole were sacked.

Iirc November was a particularly brutal month for Ole. Might be the same for ETH, too.

I hoped he was. But I just saw the reply he gave about Rashford yesterday.

He is transforming to Ole.

Media going hard on ETH, pretty sickening. No shame in losing to a quality city team that beats everyone. Plus with all the injuries he's dealing with.

Pricks, put the knives down.
I don’t think he is not at fault here.
Fans also loose the faith in this, mostly because of his decisions. Why he can’t put Rashford,
Bruno on the bench. Can’t believe after the performances they have put lately they would be bench in other clubs.

If, as a lot of people think, it’s the players not adhering to instruction then he needs to bin the usual suspects and play the younger/fringe players who are hungry to succeed who may just take on board his vision. Otherwise he’s sleepwalking his way to the sack. His starting XI and subs aren’t helping mind.

You wanted to contextualise things and called this a bad patch. Please highlight the periods of dominance/good football we've had under him - and/or what he has done that bought enough "goodwill" - and what would be classified as "seen through" in your book, please.

I can list a substantial amount of negative records broken under this man, some of our worst defeats in premier league history, as well as some comical performances - like being outplayed by Luton.

and if you're going to refer to our Carabao win - we can't ignore how favorable our the draws were:

Villa - at home
Burnley - at home
Charlton - at home
N. Forest - away and home
Newcastle

Guy reaches two finals, wins one and gets to 3rd place 8 points clear of top 4 in a season where we weren't expected to do jack shit. And you want me to spell out why he earned good will.

Nah you're alright kid.

It's a mystery how his Ajax team scored 100+ goals in the league over multiple seasons, scoring brilliant attacking moves. Before you say it's just the Eredivisie, he did in Europe as well and look at Ajax now bottom of Eredivisie, so it's not as easy to do that as he made it appear. The football this season at United is just unforgivable crap. The buck stops with him, the players ultimately must not be playing for him.

Chelsea have proven that it isn’t about the amount you spend, it’s about spending it right.

Onana is showing what he can do
Martinez is class but injured
Eriksen was a FT with known limitations
Casemiro wasn’t an ETH signing as we all knew who he wanted.
Antony…pass

Does anyone here trust ETH to spend more money ?
I stopped trusting him in the middle of his first window.

I knew if we were to give him control of our transfers this season it'd most likely be his last season here. Looking likely.

I don't want the next manager to have that responsibility either. That's why replacing ten Hag comes second to sorting out our recruitment department. We need to bring in someone who knows the importance of bringing in players who excel in their general play so that we have some stability regardless of who's managing us.

He thought the league was going to be easy. We’d have been better off appointing Gary O’Neil instead of a bloke that has only ever managed in Holland.

The issue with sacking him is that all these wasters get to start from scratch again with the next poor fool, tricking him into thinking they are good players before completely downing tools again.
I would love a new manager who had watched all our games in recent years and new what Lindelof, Dalot, Maguire, McTom, Bruno, Martial, Rashford, etc are all like.

Wank: signings, play style, “tactics”, subs, attackers, results

There’s no way back, he’s absolutely done. Line up the replacement now.

For the billionth time, how much they cost is on the board.
No it's not. Not entirely anyway. A manager knows his budget. He knows its not a bottomless pot of money. If he says Antony is too much at £90 million the club walk away. As they do with Mount.

But whatever the cost, reduce the cost by 20% if you like, the players he's brought in still aren't right.

Never gonna happen. Every new manager trusts this set of turds and its rinse and repeat after that.

Four more games until international break
Newcastle in the LC, Fulham away, Copenhagen away, then Luton at home

If things continue like today over those four game, then I think the international break we'll be seeing a change

Yeah, that's the only problem this season  If I speak, I am in big trouble
