They aren’t sad enough to take playing in a Mickey Mouse league seriously.
It’s kind of stupid to assume everyone else who received enormous amount of wages from their clubs are all unprofessional pricks who refuse to play seriously.

I’ve seen some goals in that league where I’m pretty sure it’s been determined to let the goals happen. The defending is either atrocious or they purposely don’t follow the attackers.

I do wonder if football really takes off around the country though, seeing games with 600 fans is depressing. That’s Scottish lower league level attendances. My local side in England get 4 times the amount some of these teams get and they’re in league 1 and have played long ball football for years.

Because nobody takes the 67th ranked league in the world seriously other than Ronaldo and some of his followers.
According to Opta its not that low, currently 26th last time there was a piece. Its still way behind the Danish superliga, which I can tell you as a matchgoing fan is shit and looks like its played in slow motion compared to the better european leagues.

Still I dont understand this victim complex Ronaldo and his **** fans have. He´s rated by most prolific people working in football as one of the best ever. He´s probably the 2nd most indivudally decorated player ever. The whole of idea of him being some sort of victim is a mentality he´s created because he´s a narcissictic petulant manchild who loves conspiracy theories about why a midget is lauded as the greatest ever instead of him.

They are literally coasting through the games, came to the league in their early 30s. Most of them gave up on competitive football.

They went there not for the love of the sport, nor the lifestyle, or any attachment with the place or fan culture, it’s literally just the money. They sold their names to that league for a copious amount of cash, there’s literally 0 reason to be hyper competitive in that setting, when it’s not even required from the employer, everybody knows what the deal is.

Also, it’s funny that for years going to the MLS, China, Russia or whatnot is widely agreed as a retirement money grabbing move, now just because a certain someone has a large enough chip on his shoulder that he’s busting a gust in such setting, suddenly it’s all quality, the league is actually good and other world class players just can’t cope.

Ah, so you think taking pride in what you do, being a professional and actually trying to offer your employers some semblance of value for money is being 'sad' then?

You just know that if he went over to Saudi, didn't bother and didn't put up the numbers, posters like you would be saying 'He can't even do it in the Saudi league!!!' He can't win with people like you who clearly just dislike him.

So other 39 year olds fell away to a shit standard because they didn’t bust a gut?
Hes outperforming other quality players in that league, there’s no denying it

The point he was making was simply that the league isn't super elite because Ronaldo says it is and because the window in august. Still despite that its nice to see him enjoying his football and yes producing at almost 39 years.

But I don't think anyone here believes the league is super elite, do they? That poster is saying that Ronaldo actually putting in effort and fulfilling his end of the contractual bargain is 'sad'. I'm saying that if Ronaldo didn't try, that same poster would use him not producing as a stick to beat him with. Ronaldo white simply can't win with certain people.

Super elite was exaggerating, but you had ronnie fans in the Messi thread when he was smashing it saying Messi should have gone to the Saudi League since its much more competitive. Of course they arent aware that the MLS is ranked higher by quite a margin. And people summing up all the names from the summer window. You're right of course, Ronnie is disliked enough by some people to never get due credit.

Wdym ‘people like me’?

You mean people who generally stay away from that cesspool of a debate and can refrain from blowing smoke up his ass? I’m not even posting in this thread, until that laughable comparison came up from someone pathetic enough to say he’d cheer CR’s goal if he scores against us.

Fair enough, maybe I was a bit unfair. Just that your comment that Ronaldo is 'sad' for doing what he's paid to do to the best of his ability seemed bizarre and unfair.

Such a nice thing, players not taking their job seriously while raking in millions, while millions around the world take their job very professionally for minimum wages. Damn this fella Ronaldo, working hard every day no matter the context! Ridiculous!

Oh yeah, I absolutely agree with you, even though I am a huge Ronnie fan. I love having a fun discussions around him, specially the balanced ones centered around his football. But despite my own thoughts, I don't ever feel the need to defend him or look at him as a victim. He actually does not need defending by anyone, much less me, he worked hard to achieve what he did. He always defended himself on the pitch, in the training grounds each day. Proved doubters wrong time and time again on his own. Why does a player like him need defending from anyone is beyond me. He can take care of himself.

As for the victim part, you said it well. Huge accolades, invididual and team awards, pundits, coaches, players raving about him throughout his whole career. I can't even understand those fans that look to him as a victim. I disagree slightly on the mentality he created that you said, as I don't think he looks to himself as a victim (victims don't tend to redouble their efforts and put their head down to work even harder when things aren't going their way, they tend to fold, drop in performance, give up, complain, and Ronaldo is the former, not the latter). But disregarding that, yeah, I agree a lot with what you said. Same goes for Messifan camp, too. Messi doesn't need defending from anyone, either.

All these players know that they technically downgraded big time with this move to a retirement league and they care about nothing but money. They get their money, Saudi league gets the PR associated with their names, simple as that. There's nothing motivating about moving from top leagues to one of the lowest ranked leagues in the world with extremely low attendance figures despite all this money flow. They completed a big part of their job already by agreeing to go there.

As for Ronaldo, he got rejected everywhere in Europe unlike others and had to make an unplanned move to Saudi Arabia. There's not much sympathy towards his tragic fall because he was making fun of Xavi moving to Qatar previously, always telling how he would never choose Saudi Arabia type of leagues for money, putting his teammates, manager, club under the bus.

Glad that he finally found his level at the 67th best league of the world after finishing Premier League with 1 goal in 10 games and World Cup in tears.

He was laughed at that he was not even the top scorer there last season or something. Is he now? If so, he is taking this too seriously, huh?

Maybe some, but it’s impossible to assume all of them are such unprofessional. Some of them are literally the very top player in their respective league (PL, LL, Serie A) just a year ago.

Who says they are unprofessional?
Referring to your strange logic, I guess Ronaldo has been unprofessional and failing as well as he could only be a league's top goal-scorer once in the last 9 years despite his obsession for numbers.

Benzema and Mahrez both have 13 goals and assists in 14 games, Mitrovic 21 in 18 .

Your posts imply that every foreign player is a striker and failing terribly but Ronaldo. Even Ronaldo's teammate Talisca has 19 goals and assists, depends on how much effort they are willing to show.

Many checked out for the last paycheck, and I would not blame them. Firmino is the worst performing one and accused of being too lazy, shows how he checked out as one of the most hard-working strikers in Europe before his arrival, now he is not even trying.

No matter how many times people say it, it won't make it true.

Your rabid dislike of Ronaldo is weird...any reason for the vitriol?!

It is more likely that he was rejected for wanting too much money for his ability at that age. Not exactly that he was rejected for what he could still do for a lot of clubs there.

All good Bruno, you don't like the man, and I respect that (I really do, I don't particularly care if people don't like Ronaldo). Hope you enjoyed those 6 months in which he (did) play bad football. I've enjoyed him for 15 years before that! Think I'm happy with that mileage rather than the 6 months of joy you've gotten.

He’s just jealous that the player they pronounced “dead” in the PL because of the awful man-management of Ten Hag has rediscovered his form.

Apparently it is true though, at least no CL club would touch him.

As for the bolded part, I can’t speak for the guy quoted but I’ll hazard a guess and say the complete lack of respect shown to United and everything else that comes with giving an interview to Piers Morgan, his extreme narcissism, his hypocrisy (happy to mock Xavi for going to Qatar), his selfishness in only ever being concerned with himself and no one else or any club. Then you add in his weird **** like following who seem to centre their lives around him and it makes it that much harder to like him.

He's having a good time and I can see Ronaldo actually also adding value to a PL team ... IF he would be happy with being a substitution player. I can see him being subbed in at the 65th minute. But we all know he would never accept that.

Still, at the current form I'd rate Ronaldo over Messi (who I think has deteriorated more from a physical perspective)
