What happened? At 3-1 I had to check in on the baby, and when I got back it was 3-3 and Zaha looked dead certain to score...

I think people are being harsh to the rest of the team. They more or less did everything you'd want them to do. It's unprecedented for a keeper to cost us three goals! When has that ever happened?
Yeah exactly my thoughts. Almost outfield player did their jobs. Onana didn't.

Onana has single handedly sabotaged our CL campaign with at least one goal-conceding error in every game of the campaign.
That‘s literally so baffling right. I can’t remember anything like this. Feel sorry for the outfield players, they seem to catch their gears at least a little by being effective and playing their potential (Brunos shot) just to be let down by that amateur in goal. He can stay at the AFCON.

I think we have played really well in these CL games, but we have gifted away silly goals so so often, tonight was no different.

Really happy with how we played tonight, just lacked composure and a bit of luck when it mattered.

Onana's floppy hands are becoming an issue though, not sure what that is all about tbh.
Taking away my current lense of absolute pure rage, I agree with this.

There is always one person to blame. This time it's Onana. Usually it's the ref. Funny how some never blame the man in charge of building, training, and setting up the team
You might want to pop into the ETH thread, you will find many like minded people there.

When we were up 3-1 we needed to keep our heads. And the midfield and start shutting things down. Two adventurous late in the game. Onana was shocking. So was Pellistri.

would rather us have no Europe, and focus on the league. we don’t quite have the squad we need to compete in Europa and the league

Worst European campaign I’ve ever seen. The amazing thing is we could still qualify.

If Munich stick a few past Copenhagen tonight, we beat them on the final day and Copenhagen avoid defeat on the final match day I think we qualify

Haven’t been this pissed off after a game for ages. We should have been comfortable winners! Onana gifted them two fecking goals, the second one was especially laughable. And even after it became 3-3 we should have scored at least a couple in the end! They barely could run in the last 20 minutes for f*ck sakes!!!!

Yeah we should have calmed the game down but they had what 3 shots. I mean proper shots on goal and all 3 Onana should have saved. I don't know how anyone else is to blame. You can't plan or do anything if the keeper just fks up. And yes the 3rd one as well. Shouldn't get beaten on his near post even if it was a cracking shot

Not always able to get perspective so soon after a game but generally, I thought we were good and should have won. Whatever about their third, the first two had no business being conceded -- even if we let one soft free kick in, you never expect a repeat in the same game. That said, wet conditions, lots of crowd pressure, and we still had chances in last 5 mins to win it. Crazy game. I expect we'll now go on and win against a Munich team with nothing to play for. I feel frustrated after watching but reckon there's some hope for improvements, and hey, we scored 3 goals for the second game in a row. Ah, frustrating but not as bad as if we'd crumbled and lost.

Unbelievable game of football, a game that we should have won but once again we’ve blown it, this time thanks to mistakes by Onana. Loved Garnachos performance, thought he was great.

Think we will make it to GW6 but don’t think we will make it to the knockouts now.
We'll be fine long-term as long as we keep Mainoo and Garnacho. Both look like they're going to be top-drawer, and hopefully Hjolund joins them.

We're still carrying too many bad buys though aren't we.

The TNT commentary team wanking off over this match really pissed me off, probably irrationally so given they're fronting an entertainment product and goals were flying in. It got past 90 minutes before they said 'actually United will be disappointed here yanno', yeah no shit, we've blown a group with a genuine contender and two shite teams in utterly embarrassing fashion.

Whichever one of Galatasary and Copenhagen go through will be fecking annihilated by the first proper team they play in the knock-out phase, it's just us who finds ways to cough up goals time and time and time again. Dogshit.

Bonkers. I'd take that all day long in normal circumstances of not losing to them home pointing us in the position of needing a win, so the minor positives of this Everton-Galatasaray double really don't feel overly positive right now..... but I'm very much liking Mainoo.

There's only one United!
Yes he was poor tonight and deserves the pelters but he has been in good form recently and made some important saves. Unfortunately you're only as good as your last game.
He's not a good goalie

Onana is a problem .
Opposition give it a go shooting at him because he's not good enough
United scored 3 great goal from some great attacking play.

But completely undo it all by gifting 3goals away.

Tells you all you need to know about this team.
The tem played well but were let down by butter fingers

If by some miracle we get to last 16, we will be spanked. No cohesion, no thought, big boot up the wings works against mediocre teams, not the good ones

Obama has been consistently costing us points in CL

Thought Garnacho should have better stayed on rather than sub out

Overall speaking, what a game.

Munich only need to draw it fyi. That's it, nothing else. As long as Copenhagen don't win.... the GW6 outcome is the same with a draw or win to Bayern.... United beat Bayern, the other two draw.

the onana bashing is unfair i think. the second was on martial, the third was a belter and the first is a good free kick. on the other hand there were enough chances that have to be played out. good game all around. shit result
Ehm… first and second are 100% goal keeping mistakes and should not go in 10/10 times

9 goals scored in the three Champions league group games and only came away with a point.

Pissing against the wind when you have a team that don't make themselves hard to score against and gift goals to the opposition

It's not just Onana. He has obviously been a big reason for this but this is also what happens when you don't know how to control a game of football.

Onana basically cost his teammates tonight, they turned up and he let in two free kicks I'd expect any top level keeper to deal with.

He's cost us our place in this seasons Champions league now. The Turkish lad must be rubbish, Onana has made enough mistakes to be dropped now.

I saw him play with Inter many a time before he came here and he always was doing stupid mistakes

That was a bitter pill to swallow. Onana was the difference for Galatasaray, without him, they were not coming back into this match. The changes also had a negative impact, as Pellistri ensured we could not get a winner today.

Highly disappointed, but if we were to go out, I prefer being 4th rather than those stupid thursday nights.

Antony and Onana two signings which ETH knew and coached and still insisted us to sign them, Its a big black mark on ETH as a coach.

The incompetence of this team under any kind of pressure is actually something to behold.

Even down to the manager. The Pellistri sub was completely insane.

Feel sorry for them in a way. Especially the ones who would probably be winning 3-0 if they had different team mates around them

If EtH had any hair he would have pulled it all out during this seasons CL campaign.

Dig up stupid!
Pretty good performance away from home in hostile environment. Scored 3 good goals and had lots of other chances

All completely undone by the clown show in goal. Frustrating is an understatement

I think if we are honest we would have to admit we are not a champions league level team , we would only be cannon fodder for any of the big teams in Europe had we met them.

Hello friends, I am a Galatasaray fan. But Manchester United is the only iconic team of England in my opinion. However, the days when we watched the matches with pleasure will of course come back. Every match we played with you was enjoyable, even if we lost.

The city of Manchester is simply red.

Anyone is better in goal than him
Starting to doubt the manager.
Yes, he wanted him here at all costs and got rid of ddg

FFS. Keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

Onana is too often a liability. Can't seriously be considered De Gea's successor long term. Pity we spanked £44 million on him.

That was a thrilling match, if we’re not going to win then at least be entertaining and it was.

Right now we’re a team that won’t win the champs league but frankly scoring 3 away from home and scoring a few in the others, it’s disappointing but at least we’re not boring us out of the group, still have a chance of going through.

The question is whether 4th and out of Europe altogether would be better than Europa . I’d lean towards just get out of Europe and work on the training ground and see what Ten Hag can do …
