We're further away from being a regular top 4 side than when Ole was sacked. The squad has been ruined and the money has dried up.

We used to be a club where winning the league was the only way we could call it a successful season , then as standards dropped getting top 4 was considered a success.

How long before finishing top half of the table will be considered a good season , at the rate we are going not that far off.

They were out wide, did Hojlund get into positions to receive passes from them?

Yes he did, they don’t look for him. Although it seems at this point it’s affecting Hojlund’s game, he’s changing how he plays because he knows he won’t receive a pass.

Not sure whats funny. Klopp used to beat big teams straight from the start. It was clear that they needed to defend better and that was fixed with just two additions in VvD and Allison.

I dont think Arsenal were this bad pre-Christmas.

Arteta finished 8th in his first two seasons and 5th in his third.

Klopp finished 8th in his first season.

Bad coaches, couldn't get a tune out of shite players.
This shit again. Guess every manager turns out great if they just get enough time and money, right?

He wasn’t hired off of what his previous teams did. He was hired off of his success and football at Ajax.

And I have no fecking clue how you gather that he’s not the clear driving force of our recruitment choices. Antony, Malacia, Martinez, Mount, Onana, Eriksen, and the countless targets we were interested in as well with links to him.

But hey none of it’s his fault right? He’s just getting screwed by those rotten Glazers!

No there is a guy name Murtough who is responsible for for team recruitment. And also for agreeing with the manager on the style of play that we want to see. Take it up with him you saying he was hired for x which is not what Murtough said or is saying does not alter the truth.

ETH is responsible for the fact he has been unable to get a proper tactical setup that works with the players we have and also responsible for our poor performances this season.

Murtough is responsible for the makeup of the first team squad and also for the style of football he has agreed with the manager to play.

I agree with this. We start the game at such a slow pace. We try and play out through Onana at a snails pace.

When you do that, it feels like it is hard to step up the pace. I knew that if West Ham scored, we wouldn't be able to respond.
As soon as we went 1-0 down I said we’d lose 2-0, there was no way we were going to magically up the tempo and get a goal

I did not see him doing it and I saw them both attempt to look for him in the box

Yeah, that was a bad game. Shit happens, we had Rio watching City score 6 at Old Trafford too and that was a better side which lost out on the title for that day's goal difference.

Maguire was absolutely fine until we tried to press higher up the pitch, which is suicidal with Maguire as CB and De Gea as your goalkeeper. That doesn't make De Gea a terrible goalkeeper either, just not fit for that purpose.
Behave yourself, Maguire has never been great for Man Utd nor has he in his whole career.

Is he putting himself in the possessions to be found?

Antony put in a great cross and Hojland wasn't on the last man.

I dunno, imagine being a forward making these runs but after many games you realize these players are not going to deliver to your runs, so you start hanging back or making a run elsewhere. I imagine his confidence is shot but also his faith in his teammates. They all look so disjointed, not having a plan B, or whatever else.

Under ETH, only twice have we gone away from home and won by two clear goals in the league. Versus Leeds and Nottingham Forest last season.

On the road, we either get beat or we escape with a narrow win. But the games are seldom comfortable. I have sympathy with ETH, but he can't expect to remain as manager when we're so meek away from home. And when you're no longer able to rely on results at Old Trafford...

My biggest tactical gripe

That's talking about our build play, which, in my opinion, was completely fine today. Shaw inverted quite often, esecially in the second half, popping up between the centre backs a lot of the time, and we beat West Ham's press pretty easily.

Also, on the average positions map, it pretty much shows McTominay next to Mainoo, in a 2+2 build up.

Defensively, I'd say we looked pretty solid too. I remember the Joe Cole saying that was the quietest he's heard the ground. We gave them very little!

We conceded two goals from sloppy errors but on another day, we take one of our chances, potentially go onto win the game and we're talking about how dominant our performance was against a good West Ham side.

I agree

This is the problem with ten Hag. When the game goes off script, it's game over. His tactics and strategy does not allow for sort of Plan B.

We play well just ok until one of these three things happen:

1) Injury
2) Red card
3) We concede a goal

Then, its ERROR 404 all the way to the end.

We were in total control but had zero attempts on target second half?

We get to the final third and shit the bed. Give us West Ham's front three and we win easily, in my opinion.

That's no disrespect to our attacking players, but it's clear that ours are badly out of form. Either that, or not good enough.

At this point I have no idea how he still has a job.

Absolutely clueless and breaking all the wrong kind of records.

It's amazing. I get being loyal, but this is just sticking their heads in the sand levels of delussional.
Its delusional to say we have injuries?
I think ETH has been poor this season (and some of last)but injuries are no a delusion

Is he a poor coach with no idea?

Or is this bunch of players not good enough or not playing for him?

Either way it's disgraceful
I think at Ajax he had other people recruiting his players, and when they turned up to training and Ten Hag said "play the Ajax ball heh?", because the players selected for him could already do it, he got to put his feet up and eat pancakes all day.

Now he's at a team that require coaching and moulded into a proper side he's struggling. Now he spends his days peeing into his own mouth and crying.

Of course, I'm basing this on feck all so I could be wrong.

Yes, sacking him will make all our stupid players smart, Scott McTominay able to trap a ball, and all our injured players fit again.

We field a mid-table eleven, we get a mid-table performance. It's that simple.
Yet we still get beaten by bottom table teams, or even worse, see Copenhagen.. So maybe its the manager not the excuse its the players.

Arteta finished 8th in his first two seasons and 5th in his third.

Klopp finished 8th in his first season.

Bad coaches, couldn't get a tune out of shite players.

this shite again.

Klopp was one of the best managers in the world when he touched down on Liverpool. Titles, cups, CL finalist etc. His effect on Liverpool's football was palpable from the first season.

Arteta hasn't spent £400M - and is an outlier.

I would agree with you if we were Bayern Munich with a clear transfer structure. We aren’t, and by all accounts ETH has specifically preferred the vast majority of these signings as HIS choices barring Kane and De Jong. Just sticking your head in the sand and saying it’s Murtoughs fault (who is also terrible) doesn’t change that.

Either way, it’s doesn’t matter because Ten Hag is the one that still blindly sticks to a horrid system that hasn’t yielded an iota of promise all season. That’s the most damning part of it all.

Up until this point I believed that seagulls were the most hateful birds. I was wrong.
