Only Sheffield United have scored fewer EPL goals than us

If we are being pedantic about ‘fewer’, can we also change the title to simply ‘Sheffield’ because we all know we are the only team referred to as ‘United’ and they are differentiated from the other big team in the City by the word ‘Wednesday’. :D

Luton would have scored more than United if their game wasn’t called off. That’s how bad it is and no amount of blame towards the club structure will take away from the fact that ETH cannot get goals out of this squad.

There are so many embarrassing stats about us this season, the last time we lost this many matches before Christmas was 1930.
And this is the first time we have failed to score in four consecutive matches since 1992.

The worst United team in my 24 years of life, definitely the worst since I started following United in 2010. I’d honestly say that were worse than when we were relegated, as I’ve seen people saying that we at least tried to give a shit back then.

On pace for 38 goals, would lower the bar of Louie's record of 49 by quite the margin.

Eh? Surely Burnley and Luton have scored less? Luton especially?
And yet, they haven’t. And Luton have played one less game. Or fewer.
So this is what we're comparing ourselves to - Luton, who have scored the same as us, with 1 less game.
The other issue is that we haven't scored a goal in 4 games. That's 360 mins and not a single goal.
And by the looks of it, we may go another 90 minutes without scoring a goal.

We will score at 5 per game once we have signed the most important players Structure and Setup. Both BD'or contenders.

I was in the Nou Camp for 1999. Never did I once think then we will reach the lows of this season. Being outscored and outplayed by almost all opposition. I reckon on this form, we'd struggle to win the Championship even.

We've got an overrated bunch of strikers. None of them are 10% as good as what these guys think they are.

I'm surprised not more is being made of this in the media to be honest. Maybe give it to the halfway point of the season. Let's see if we score vs Villa. 19th in the league in goals scored after half a season is an insane stat, especially when we're dealing with 3 of the worst newly promoted teams I've ever seen.

I don't care at all about any recruitment or injury issues... Man United with no mix of personnel should ever have that stat against their name. Shocking.

We've only scored 18 and everybody above us has scored above 30. City has 40. We've scored the same amount of goals as Luton and Burnley. They've only just been promoted. Only have one more than Forest. Absolutely horrific stat.

Our lack of goals was bad enough last season. We're very much on track to score a lot less this season. Rashford's purple patch massively bailed us out. No way our attack should be as bad as it is.

New DOF and he'll bang 40 goals a season. If we also change the owners 50.
He’s holding out till we do.. smart lad. Great negotiation skills

if only there was a transfer window mid season we could use to buy new players.

if only.
Imagine if there was and we turned it around…

Who is available then?

It’s actually amazing how bad we’ve become.

Worst run club in football?
100% I cannot name anyone ever with our resources in the history of the game who failed every single year for basically a decade.

It’s quite unthinkable for any other big club in reality. It’s just bizarre how the owners are still here for two decades and seem indifferent.

They at this point don’t even pretend to give a damn.

Wonder if we need to try a false 9, with Rashford on the left and Rasmus on the right. At least that way we’re not relying on the current setup to create goals. Seems Rashford is only good for scoring goals cutting in, certainly doesn’t create anything, and our options on the right aren’t creating anything either. Bruno or someone as a false 9 might create something.

Looking at the output from Rashford now it's becoming more apparent why Weghorst was played so much. His selflessness was a good foil to the selfishness of Rashford at least, and his work rate covered a lot of shortfall from others.

Well...yeah. Its fact. The one less game thing doesn't even help our cause does it?

By some distance.

It's impressive how badly we've wasted over a billion quid. I don't think it'd be possible to spend it any worse without it obviously being direct sabotage

Calm down, c'mon, don't you know that once Martinez is back our attack will be transformed?

I mean, technically, Luton have scored one goal more than us as they scored against Bournemouth the other week, before Tom Lockyer collapsed and the game had to be abandoned

Its worth a thread as its the main issue with the team. The gaping holes in midfield is another issue but if you cant score a goal you cant win.
Some thing has to change to correct this situation that has been going on since last season. The January transfer window is up on us and whilst FFP restricts spending surely we can sell Sancho, DVB, maybe Greenwood, Barca and RM are interested in Greenwood according to the press. Got to be £100mil plus There. Failing that is Weghorst free?

The problem I have with people being concerned about this now is that if you take Rashford's goals away from last seasons run-in, what is the difference between then and now?

We've been a single point failure of a team in terms of goalscoring for more than this opening half of the season.

There are so many elephants and great unspokens in the room that we've actively avoided talking about as a fanbase until it became suffocating. We've managed to take the worst elements of last season and compound them with new problems of the manager's design. Not content with a misfiring attack, he messed up the midfield as well. With no Rashford super form to bail us out, we're exactly where you would expect us to be in terms of goalscoring. Last season told us as much.

Without Rashord's form last season it woul've been a similar case surely? Fact is this season and last our striker and RW do almost nothing.
Definitely. Writing was on the wall. I was saying this a lot last season when ETH was being declared the second coming.

I said last season I dread to think where we'd be without Rashford's purple patch.

We've found out.

Not sure there are many options now in January, maybe a loan again?

imagine the day we do turn it around. I don't believe it will be this group of players nor this manager but when we do, oh my it's going to be sweet!
