Birmingham were winless in 5/6 games when they appointed Rooney, right? It wasn’t all positive around Eustace at the time.
No. Eustace won the previous two games before he was sacked 4-1 and 3-1.

Yep. They did go on a five game winless streak earlier in the season but they'd already somewhat bounced back by the time he got the sack. Overall their record for the season was not all that bad (5W-3D-3L) under Eustace. Not particularly good either but easily in the running for a play-off spot if they'd kept up that form.
They should go for Steve Cooper if they can.

Cooper probably will be touted for a lower Premier league club role.. Crystal Palace maybe if Roy continues as he is.
Steve Cooper would be an excellent choice for Birmingham but Birmingham would be a poor choice for Steve Cooper.
The people running the club have proven that they don't have clue & I would imagine a lot of managers would be gun shy about the job.

In hindsight it certainly looks like that with Rosenior doing very well at Hull.
This was always a poor move from Rooney. He needed to make sure his next job was the right one but going into an over-achieving side where the previous manager was still popular was always going to make things so much more difficult.
In one of his last interviews with Forest he was asked about his future. He said along the lines of “Don’t worry about me, I know the level I want to work at”. I don’t think it’s in the Championship. Palace would be the likeliest destination unless he links back up with England in a senior position.

They all spent virtually their entire careers working under a man who was a total one off, his methods would never work anywhere else. They never saw anything else and theyre trying to replicate something which cant be replicated. The managers have all failed and the pundits are (with a couple of exceptions) hopeless.
You'd think they'd learn something though. Hughes was decent at one point, but still far from being a top manager.
Look at Xabi Alonso. His dad was former pro. He played under Rafa, Mourinho, Ancelotti and Pep. He seems to be drawing from all of these experiences to become a very promising coach.
Rooney played under Moyes, Ferguson, LvG and Mourinho (briefly). That's good mixture of managers to learn from. But maybe he just isn't intelligent/articulate enough to get his points across. Most former top players really seem to struggle with coaching players who can't do things that came easily to them. I bet Rooney is in this bracket. Roy Keane definitely is.
Lisbon is a complete tourist trap dumpster city, I have no doubts about that. And Wayne was one of my favourites Manchester United players ever, it was just a tasteless joke about both manager and stereotypes about city.

At Man United when he was there, Ferguson was the boss. At most clubs today, the "manager" is the bloke who picks the does training, picks the team and if he's lucky, has some say in transfers.
Because of that, having played under Ferguson probably isn't the best education into what makes a great modern day head coach.

The madness started with sacking the previous manager, now they have got all they deserve.
I just saw that - 4 losses and 2 draws in the 6 before that though and those wins came on 3rd and 6th October - the decision was probably already made by then. Those results came in whilst they were probably doing the paperwork but in hindsight make it looks a bit silly (one of many reasons that make it look silly).
If you visit the touristic part, you'll be tricked. A lot of Lisbon looks like this if you leave the tourist path:
