I mean if he was willing to come for half his current salary, I'd take him in a heatbeat. A half year loan would be perfect. Not realistic though.

We're midtable and toothless in attack. Surprised to see so many stick their nose up at Benzema.
I guess some of us are sick of seeing the club recklessly throw millions at star players for absolutely no gain.
We're better off bringing in no one this month and just waiting until the summer, when we'll hopefully have competent people running the football side of the club and a new manager in charge

Have we learned nothing?

We sign overpriced, ageing stars who give us a handful of goals before the pace of the league overwhelms their bodies and they become an expensive hindrance.

I'd rather see us have a couple of years mid table and properly scout and rebuild than trying to buy endless short term fixes to eke out a top 4 spot every year.

He'd jump at the chance. Hed walk here for a contract. I guarantee you that. We would be going backwards if we did, we've already had far too many past their prime players coming here on huge reputations and salaries and -failing- for us to fall for it again, surely.

We need more Mainoo's, not more Benzema's.

I wouldn't say a loan for 6 months necessarily fits that same mould though.

We are not signing anyone better in Jan are we? We can still do all that and loan for half season?

Not sure what he'd make of a cold night in Eastleigh mind

Fully on board if it's a 6-month thing. Don't see any downside to it.
This. We need a striker. We can't afford Toney or Osimhen. So if loan is our only option then age is not an issue for a 5 months loan. Who cares is he 25 or 35 years old when he is leaving in June.

Would he really take a massive pay cut and actually accept a 6 month deal
Possibly but the correct way forward is for United to start making sensible offers, and if players don't want to come then so be it.

Matching what Saudi are giving them should never even come into it. If he wants the Saudi money then shut up and stay put.

What do you consider a sensible wage offer

We haven't been able to score goals and Hojlund has no mentor figure. We'd get both a proven goalgetter and someone Hojlund can learn from. I'm sick of seeing us getting linked with players like Malen, Werner or Choupo-Moting. Benzema would be a sick signing, but it ain't happening.

I for one am glad that he hates it there and that the club hates having him.

Putting a number on any players salary is always a bit of a guessing game because we don't know what they are on.

But I would not be offering anywhere close to his Saudi salary or even his Real Madrid salary. He is on the decline and money shouldn't be the no.1 reason behind United's offer. Playing in the Prem for 6 months with Casemiro/Varane is more than enough of an incentive.

On a 6 month + 1 year option deal we should jump on this. CFs are hard, Hojlund needs time to develop. If he can rotate in and not be disruptive, it's one of the few times I'd advocate for an older player

They could both play a part in this,at the end of the day they could be off in 6 months too

Oh come on

Demanded to leave Madrid for a pay day and we're sniffing around him

Exactly the type of deal we shouldn't be doing and the whole point of wanting a new footballing setup at the club

A 6-month loan deal would hardly affect that in any way. It would be a deal to bridge the gap until that takes effect.

He's a player at the end of his career and as just left a top club to chase a pay day

What motivation will 4-5 months in Manchester be for him? just seems like a deal we've made a million times.

The cost of a loan will probably be ridiculous as well

Benzema not good enough for United? So says some supporters of a club in 9th place in the PL and having scored a grand total of 22 goals in 20 games.
Guy is done and his legs are gone. Not to mention his behaviour. We could go for Salvatore Schillaci and they would produce the same.

You are willing to pay him 3m per week?
I think people don’t realize that he is on 200m(!) net(!) per year.

It would be a total waste of time and money on a player that simply isn't motivated to play football anymore and is way past his best, and has worse skeletons than Mason Greenwood in his locker. The entire reason we loaned out Greenwood would be negated based off any signing of Benzema. If it looked like happening - which it won't - there'd be as big a public outcry, I expect.

My bad. I thought it was lower. Anyway we should take him if he says "I'm willing to join you until summer for 300K per week", but we all know that's unrealistic

Ten Hag is trying to get rid of twats, he’s hardly going to be up for bringing in Ronaldo’s arsehole best mate
