Unfinished business?
Is there someone associated with the club he didn't manage to hack off?
A pole between Mourinho returning or Potter as manager might be interesting.

By all accounts he is a toxic wanker, but so was the entire group we had and still have at the club in big chunks.
He was certainly right about some things that he said, yeah. But I found him absolutely unbearable by the end of his reign.

I don't know what's harder to believe, the story or that some here would really want him back

Since that video:
19/20 Europa League
20/21 UCL group stage exit
21/22 UCL Ro16 Atletico Madrid loss
22/23 Europa League
23/24 UCL group stage exit

Mourinho stated nothing but facts. I know it's a hard pill to swallow but we've been absolutely rubbish in the ucl for a looong time and the only way to change that is the squad, it isn't good enough. Some of the players Mourinho wanted out because they weren't good enough are still here and guess what ? They aren't good enough. You want a manager to tell you all things are dandy and we have the best squad in the world despite being shit ?
We've been crap in Europe for thirty years tbh.

No he simply wasn’t. He might not have won the finals we got to but his football was more entertaining than Jose and LVG. I’d rather watch an ole team every day of the week.
Ole was fecking wank. And this idea that his football was better is wank too. He had terrible lows at multiple times which some posters weirdly want to ignore.

The golden 3 month period he had when the Ole at the wheel chants were rampant just overrode what it was actually like.

Not going to lie, seeing Jose take both himself and Manchester United back to the top would be one hell of a story...
But the special one and the biggest club in the world falling off a cliff together would also be one hell of story... A lot would enjoy it. Manchester United and Mourinho both have a lot of people who love to see them fail.

I wouldn’t be against it one day, but he would struggle massively with this squad right now.
The current squad would probably do quite well under Mourinho. Central defenders with good positioning, but little pace, attackers who can run in behind, a handful of excellent passers (Bruno, Eriksen and Mainoo). Shaw overlapping for good crosses, AWB staying back to form a back three on the counter. A goalkeeper that can hit fairly precise passes long, and a handful of decent sized midfielders. My issue isn't really what he could do with this squad, but what sort of squad he would be involved in building going forwards.

They've already fallen off a cliff to be fair.

Lows like Jose had. And LVG. And the guy who everyone that wanted Ole out for, has had?

What a shit post.

0 reason to go back to Mourinho. He is on a downward trajectory, so are we. Need to look forward not backward.

Jose can say and think what he wants but it isn't up to him so I can't believe so many are getting their knickers in a twist.

In my opinion, I think ETH is finished so I'm open to us replacing him right now, even if it meant a controversial stop gap, such as Jose.

To be fair, the multiple baldy threads and the threads on the tequila bender guy also has a lot of delusion. Seems like the norm here.

The sad thing is we are a dumb enough club to hire him again.

Unfinished business? He can go to Chelsea and finish the business there as they were on the verge of relegation when they sacked him.
As for us more chance of me becoming United manager than Jose again.

Does anyone remember our playing style under him? One chance a game? We made football look harder than we do now. Imagine going back to that. It's not better than what we have currently and players are arguably worse now than back then.

Ole was disaster. Not just because of lack results. He set up casual mentality which stuck in and can't go away.
Also, this rewriting history about his football is becoming laughable. Except first few months his football was awful. Parking the bus and waiting on counter attack. Even Jose didn't do that (except in few bigger games). Failed Cardiff manager did it every week.

Biggest difference between him and Jose were in EL finals. While Jose prepared team perfectly for Ajax game and studied every single detail, remember what Ole did?
"We didn't prepare specially for Villareal. We are Man Utd and we play our style. I told players to enjoy themselves". What a plonker

Jose coming back makes perfect sense - misery does love company, after all.
