Celebrating the Alisson feck up like his team caused it was pure cringe
After the FA cup defeat this game was their cup final. Today was literally the end of Arsenal's season and they finish on a high.

The performances + atmosphere in big games at the Emirates this season have been the best I’ve seen it by a mile. Love this team.

This Liverpool side are then fascinating. Lots of good individuals and attackers but I think I’ve watched them in seven games this season (Arsenal x3, Chelsea, Spurs, United, Palace) and I’m not convinced I’ve seen them comfortably be the better side in any of them. Maybe I’ve been unlucky, but they seem to be a team of moments, who are always going to have chances because of how many brilliant attackers they have (+ Allison, Konate, VVD), but there’s a structural problem with their set-up and midfield.

Agree with that. I was telling my Arsenal mate before the game I was annoyed that Trent had recovered in time for the game today (+ poor Connor's dad dying :() . As much as VvD and Alisson were comical the structure was all wrong again. You killed us down TAA's side unsurprisingly.

I just watched the arse/liv game highlights. After that Liverpool goal I thought here we go; the jammy fcukers will find a way to win. Thank god they fecked up too.

Very poor game today. Our entire setup seemed wrong.

Also appeared to lack energy, which I suppose is kind of understandable after playing late on Wednesday evening, but only kind of, and could also just be me looking for an excuse. In any case, Arsenal were good and deserved winners.

Think it’ll do us good to have a weeks rest before the next match.

I'm not underrating the players and managers, I'm just saying there's been a natural progression and present-day will likely always be the highest level ever.

Rio and Vidic would no doubt be able to reach all-timer Premier League centre half levels, based just on their talent, had they been born 20 years later.
You don't think that they're all-time PL greats?

(Bit strange using the phrase 'all-time' when talking about the last 30 years but we'll let that but slide)

Yes, they are. What I'm saying is that they'd still reach that level, had they been born 20 years later and were at their peak today.

Ouch, seems like I ruffled some feathers with my comment

Football has evolved tactically. Significantly. Teams from 10+ years ago weren't this good, let alone 20-30 years ago. In 10-15 years' time the best teams around will be also stronger than current City, for example. Not a hard concept to grasp. If you watch matches from the Premier League in the 1990s and 2000s and say that the overall level is anywhere near to today's standards, then you are blinded by nostalgia.

Peak level is probably from 2017 to 2020, but these last 1 or 2 years he's been solid as well. People act like Terry, Vidic, Rio, etc. never made any mistakes because social media wasn't around and casual football fans never overanalyzed everything either, like today. The goal today is also on Alisson, not van Dijk.
For me it's that all three of those achieved longevity that Van Dijk just hasn't. I'm not saying that Van Dijk isn't an exceptional defender; he's almost definitely the best centre back of this generation. With that said, his trophy haul doesn't stack up to any of those three, and I feel that although at his peak he was on their level he didn't sustain it for as long a period.

Was very nervous for this one but thankfully, Liverpool weren't quite at it. Think we comfortably deserved the win, don't think Liverpool troubled Raya much apart from the goal. Think our best player was either Martinelli or Havertz today, they didn't allow the Liverpool defenders a moment of peace.

Sometimes I want to simply give the opposition the credit their performance deserved and move on. Arsenal's shape and game plan was excellent and nullified us completely in the first half. All round a deserved win for them.

We need to win all of our league games before we play City in March. Any dropped points between now and then, and I think they'll fancy it. If they only need a draw from Anfield then we're in trouble.

Just saw the lineups.. Man City doesn't have a single injured player.. Absolutely unbelievable.

Seriously feeling more and more out of touch with football. There was one time I could have named the entire Sheffield Wednesday XI. Now I wouldn’t have blinked if Regulion was starting for us the other day and yet here he is in Brentford’s team.

They only just got fully fit. They've had it reasonably bad with injuries during the first half of the season as well.

"Ivan Toney one of only two players to score more than once against City last season"

The other? Tony Martial

Are you jealous you don't have access to Cugat's juices anymore?
I'm just stunned especially as City had so many matches in their triple season and then also played the club world cup on top of a packed Xmas season.

Guardiola's second season was injury ridden. Don't remember his time at Bayern was free of injuries, rather the contrary.
