Nuno Mendes not willing to renew contract at PSG due to receiving multiple interest from other clubs. When you think about it there are a lot of big clubs that are probably in need of a LB/LWB. He’d probably be too pricey for us right now.

Would love him, but PSG would probably demand high fee as he has 2 years left on his contract I believe.
I considered him unavailable (he still might be due to PSG not needing money) but if he is on the market then all teams should be after him.
I'd agree with this.
His contract is to 2026 and they want to sit down and discuss it but supposedly he doesn’t want to as there are many teams asking about him. He would be a good signing for us but yeah, I would imagine a fee would be north of 50 mil even if we waited till the summer.
Anyway probably just negotiation tactics for a new deal.
I don’t, I think it’s one of the more crazy ideas I’ve read on here. Why would we want to take him in when he isn’t better than what we have and is also a sick note. Imagine having him and Shaw in your ranks both injured.
It's not that crazy, it's a short-term option for a club that may not have much to spend until the summer.
1) He is better than both Shaw, Malacia and Dalot at LWB
2) I'm only advocating a 6 month loan and can re-address this in the summer

Any player we deem to be worthy of starting for Manchester United will cost a lot of money. That is how it is. Joshua Zirkzee cost 40 million, Hojlund cost 70 million and they both came from Italy.
That Hojlund price was absolutely criminal, I can't believe we actually paid that for him.
Just one name in a long list of signings who have come in and not raised the level of quality in the squad.

It’s an acceptance of our reality, we don’t have a LWB, nor the money to buy one in January. In better circumstances Chilwell wouldn’t be a consideration but a short term loan deal might help us.
He can't stay fit. He most certainly would not help.
He hasn’t played in a few months has he? Getting him back up to match fitness will be a task and he will finally get injured after properly training to get match fit for a month.

Smacks of a club trying to sell ‘damaged goods’. It feels like the wrong type of profile signing for us tbh. Will be very expensive. There’s been a lot of noise about him regarding assault etc recently but as yet it’s unfounded. Understandably, his form has been patchy and he’s been dropped in recent games.
Quick google shows he’s been dropped and his manager is publicly calling him out for not being in peak shape and in bad form and disruptive. Ugh. Not this again.
Everything about him is screaming £60m flop, despite having obviously been an elite level full-back for years now.
Been very impressed by Ola Aina recently. Except don't know if he plays on the left or right. Has all the tools.
I’ve noticed him too - really powerful ball runner. Carries it well. Not sure about the rest of his game creatively, though. I think we want someone who is a hybrid fullback and winger rather than an out and out fullback there. Edit: think he’s on the right too

Fairly sure I mentioned him as a potential signing when he was leaving Torino on a free.
Forest gave him a 1 year deal and have extended it again for another one this season.
Kind of went under the radar for a while last season, but he's been impressive this season.
Think he's out of contract at the end of the season. As a versatile backup/rotation option on a free, he might not be a bad pickup.
Nuno Mendes looked like the worst player on the pitch in every Portugal game I watched at the Euros. Not a fan of his at all.

It's time to start looking at prem proven players. Kerkez or Estupinan, go get one of them.
I like the profile of player you suggest. However, in this case, Locko is out with a torn achilles and De Cuyper has achilles problems. I'm very wary of us signing players where there's injury issues, given our recent history.
El Hadji Malick Diouf of Slavia Prague looks a really interesting player for this LWB role. 6 goals and 3 assists this season in an admittedly weak league, and he's only 19 which maybe is the wrong type to bring in with Diego Leon and Harry Amass already at the club. Germany have a few promising young left backs that have played further forward (Rothe, Netz, Brown). Miguel Gutierrez is decent, as is Ruggieri at Atalanta.
Players who will have 1 year on their contract left in the Summer, so hopefully would be cheaper, include Nuno Mendes (injury prone?), Theo Hernandez (attitude?) and Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolves fans quite mixed on him).
Still arguably the best LB in the world. Could definitely be worth a shot if he wants a challenge in England.

I didn't realise Locko was out injured. I've seen De Cuyper being linked to Arsenal and City in the past. I think he's a good player. Not sure about his injuries.
I'd be looking more towards a player 22-25, that can make that jump now, rather than signing Hernandez or another young player.
Ait Nouri fit that, he is a good player, always impressed with him when I watch Wolves.
Buy Nico Williams and we got a 2 footed Antonio Valencia.
IMO he would be worse than Rashford in goal output, do not rate him.
He's been great defensively but meh going forward when I've seen him.
He was rumoured to be signing an extension, but if he doesn't he's a free this summer. I don't think he'd be good enough attacking-wise to be a wing back in this system. Feels like Mazraoui and Yoro both being best at RCB means we don't really have a need for him. If he was left-footed, or if Amorim wants to play Yoro in the centre of the 3 (which doesn't feel right, but I wouldn't rule out) he'd be a really intriguing free signing, like this:
Lisandro(Shaw)----Yoro(DeLigt)-----Mazraoui(Aina) but that's also a pretty small group. Fits better if we sell Licha and buy a taller LCB.
Alvaro Fernandez - EUR15m. Hard to find a better deal for January. Experienced in the English game. Can play LWB or LB. Peak is still 4 years away.
