Don't care, sticking with him for the long run. These players are fecking shit.
Arsenal’s the FA cup, at least. Not happening over those 2 games. Plus Arsenal after. So we won’t see a week for 2 weeks.
He is picking what he has for wingbacks is my understanding. I don’t agree with the Dalot pick for sure, he is a shite players who offers nothing. I don’t mind us not scoring goals , this season is a write off anyways but I want to see us hold the ball against pressure. Make good one two passes and carry it forward. You need to do that in any formation. We’re committing way too few players forward. That’s on the formation, or rather his decision to make said formation overly defensive by picking defensive wing-backs.
What fecking style are we playing now exactly where we just conceded 7 in a week and now are losing again after being toothless in attack. It’s early days for the manager but people on here shouldn’t act like he’s immune to criticism. He's supposed to abandon his style, his system, his tactics, and all his own ideas, and revert back to whatever formation is best suited to this group of idiots. Apparently
The last manager used another formation. Didn’t work as well.I think it's admirable to try and use his system but he needs to stop this formation. It's not working with these bunch of players and we've got two thirds of the season remaining. We would finish 8th-10th with the old tactics. We may get dragged into a relegation battle at it is.
Yes, of course he should adapt to his squad. All managers should. I can’t believe anybody could disagree with that.So he should adapt to the squad, a squad that we all agree is shite and needs replacing?
As Amorim himself has said, if we do that we'll only find ourselves in the same position next season. But unfortunately for him too many fans lack patience
The formation is part of the problem! It completely doesn't suit us and nullifies most of our attacking players. He needs to adapt otherwise he'll be sacked by Feb.
The players can't play his style evidently. So they better learn to adapt or they will be out the door. What fecking style are we playing now exactly where we just conceded 7 in a week and now are losing again after being toothless in attack. No he won't but keep crying.
That would just destroy his reputation as he would be seen to be incapable of managing a big club.

The problem is the basics, you think setting the same players in a different formation is going to make us magically better? You need to be able to pass the ball under pressure in any formation. The formation is part of the problem! It completely doesn't suit us and nullifies most of our attacking players. No. He could pick Amad and Antony. This formation is way too cautious when your wing-backs are not attackers. It’s very obvious for anyone watching us.He is picking what he has for wingbacks is my understanding. I don’t agree with the Dalot pick for sure, he is a shite players who offers nothing. I don’t mind us not scoring goals , this season is a write off anyways but I want to see us hold the ball against pressure. Make good one two passes and carry it forward. He needs to pick players where we actually carry an attacking threat not 6 defensive players. He doesn’t make it easy on himself. Get some pace up front. The players can't play his style evidently. So they better learn to adapt or they will be out the door.
This. He has a good idea of who needs to go(almost all of them).I dont know how people are turning on Amorim. Whats the point in playing a 4-2-3-1 now and getting some decent results with this squad and him not having a clue who can play in a system that he wants to play with.
We know the squad is a mess. I'm happy with Amorim's tactic. If we want to get rid of the players not fit to play for United then Amorim is showing exactly who they are.
In theory it provides a good rest defence while not sacrificing too much offensively like a flat back four would. You need the right players for it though, the RCB and LCB have to be very athletic. What are the actual benefits to playing with 3 at the back? I get that this team isn't suited to it, but just in general what benefits does it bring?
We were playing better under ETH earlier this season than we are now (and I hate ETH as much as the next man). The question is, does adapting to this squad actually look any different to what we're seeing now?
It is so obvious that this is true. I don't know why people just post about transfers endlessly. We want to build a new stadium. The squad is not as bad as these performances, Amorim just needs to focus on that and improve performances, which to be fair I believe he is focussed on, just the fans that are not.I’m loving all this talk about replacing squads and making transfers when we have feck all money to do so and will probably manage a few transfers at best. He will need to get the best out of the majority of the current players.
100%.Starting to look a little grim to be fair. Don't get why he started playing with two defensive wingbacks. We looked so much better with Amad on the wingback.
No he could leave and go full on PR, point out all the flaws and simply say that a manager deserves very basic standards to be met. He can point at countless managers who went before and say Im not making the same mistake as these guys, who destroyed themselves for a club that doesnt want to be fixed.
He's in big big trouble. Anothr defeat now we have Newcastle, arsenal and Liverpool coming up. Will easily be 3 more defeats.
He looks no closer to sorting out this mess. Formation doesn't help us at all as it simply doesn't work with the players we have available and it nullifies most of our attacking players. He's also so young, I'm not sure he has the experience to sort this out.
Which coach do you suggest should work with this squad and achieve our expectations? If he can't work with this current squad of multi-millionaire players, then we have hired the wrong manager.
We have no more money for another massive overhaul. ETH blew the entire budget.
But who can he pick? Garnacho? Rashford? Both have shown they aren't up to it this yearHe needs to pick players where we actually carry an attacking threat not 6 defensive players. He doesn’t make it easy on himself. Get some pace up front.
Bold statement. We were playing better under ETH earlier this season than we are now (and I hate ETH as much as the next man).
No he isn't.
Agreed. Yes, our attackers are poor but we're really not helping ourselves with the squad selections. The team already struggles with scoring goals and we've decided to play even less attackers.I can’t work out why we started fairly positively with Mazraoui at centre back, Amad at wing back. At one point in a game he wasn’t playing a single centre back. We’ve now gone to five defenders and a defensive midfielder, and the results have got worse. most Amorim watchers were saying before he joined that this wouldn’t happen.
We’re a team that’s playing with only three attacking players, it’s no surprise we can’t attack.
