Martial, for all his flaws had elite level talent, this pair are pure plodders in comparison.

Hojlund was poor today, maybe he's just not ready for this level yet, he's got a lot of learning to do and learning on the job at a side like Utd when they are in this mess isn't a good place to be.
I still think he's a good player and will get better, but we definitely need to see a more experienced forward coming in to take the burden off him.

Horrible player, not even PL standard. PL standard center forwards at least win some duels vs centerbacks, this guy consistently loses almost all duels and fail to hold up any balls. Every game I watched he was being toyed around by centerbacks. No pace to outrun defenders, can't win headers, weak as feck, bad positioning all the time, yet whines and jogs around all game as if he is some hot shit.

Price. If he was from academy or is paid few millions nobody would even consider him as "United material". Same as nobody is mentioning Wheatley.
Now, put 50 mil price on Wheatley and treatment of him is different.
I could’ve sworn that most, myself included were praising his movement and the runs he would constantly make during his early days at the club. The problem back then was no one would ever find him which was very frustrating, now the rot at this club has firmly got a grip of him and he looks like a headless chicken that’s never where you need him to be at the right time.
I really don’t want to right the kid off as he’s shown he’s a capable finisher and the simple fact is this club ruins players instead of improving them, that’s been the case for the last decade and outside of Bruno you’d be hard pressed to find another player that’s either remained at the same level or improved since joining the club and we’ve signed a shit ton of players in that time.

Martial looked world class in his first season Under LVG and was apart of Ole's reign during our best periods until the injuries took their toil and even then in ten hag's first season he showed to be vital in important games. , he's all around play was light years ahead of hojlund.
Hojlund hasn't even scored against a top 4 team since he's been here. It was comical watching him try to recieve the ball against wolves near the corner only to run it out of play.
Even Macheda looks world class compared, what with them both beeing young players.

Hojlund doesn’t even come close to Martial at his best, unfortunately we very rarely got to see his best either due to injury or application.
He seems like a nice lad and he is a clinical finisher but his overall play is nowhere near Premier League standard.

Rubbish. Martial was genuine world class potential. And today's Martial is still 10x better player than Hojlund and Zirkzee together.

Outside of how he’s actually performing for us, it is a bit weird how we went so balls to the wall with the transfer fee for the guy. I don’t recall him being that highly rated, and his record wasn’t anything that amazing.

Absolutely amazing that someone above or bellow or whatever in this club didn't say to Arnold and Murtough: "Wtf are you doing? You are paying 70 mil euros for a guy who has one pro season and who scored 9 league goals. Are you stupid?".
His career trajectory is a bit odd. He didn't have a great record with Copenhagen but scored a few goals in Europe and he moved to the Austrian league. He had a decent record there but moved very quickly to Atalanta. In Seria A, he had a purple patch in the 2nd half of his first season and that somehow got him a move to United for 64m.
Forgetting about United for a second, that seems to be a shit plan for a young player to develop his game.
Called it last season on here and got a lot of negative posts. His movement is dreadful and his instincts aren't quick enough. He's average regardless of his ages, the word potential seems to get used a lot with him as well. I personally don't see the potential and given he's early 20s I think it would have been there already.
Just wait till he scores a brace against Qarabag and then people will be claiming he’s a potential elite striker again.

I didn‘t watch Atalanta with him so I have no idea what he did there to justify a move to United, let alone that insane price tag.

As well as been average, he's turning into a right whinge bag nowadays aswell.
