Well both our GKs are absolutely toss. How did we go from having Romero as a #2 to these 2 clowns being our only choice.

Badly let down by defenders today. I would have the likes of Lindelof shot into space, let alone dropped from the squad for the reminder of the season.

It basically is this bad. We have a shite keeper, no striker who can consistently stick the ball in the net, and strikingly few players who are currently in their prime. The few peak age players we do have are also typically injury prone.

Honestly, Richard Arnold, John Murtough, and Erik ten Hag could not have done a better job of absolutely fecking ruining this squad. It's criminal how stupid they were.
We are bad in attack fair enough, but we play 7 defensive players and still crap defensively.

His style isn't working simple as that.

Give him a full summer window and decide after he’s had the benefit of a full league season instead of being forcibly parachuted in mid season and expected to work miracles with half a squad of unsuitable players.
But hold on.

The original shit form when he started was lack of training session....Ive seen no improvement since?

Even if we end up rescuing the season in Europe, it's absymal to be losing 14 out of 32 PL games with -7 goal difference. That's 44% of the total games have been lost, almost 50-50 you turn on United and they lose. Absolutely brutal. Not just Amorim, Ten Hag too, but Amorim's record is ugly.

But its not though. This is apparently all part of building towards next season, thats how it was sold. When we lose it can't just become meaningless. It has to be a reality of the situation.

It’s a meaningless loss. It doesn’t affect us in the league, so there’s no point in overthinking what would’ve been an expected away result to an in form side with everything to play for.

Exactly. I’m not sure what people expected. Losing to them was pretty inevitable.
It's the manner of the loss, 2 shots in the 2nd half and conceding 2 goals from individual mistakes is not the manner we should be losing. These are mistakes which are avoidable, yet our players still repeat them.

We have looked toothless in this second half also, it's just not good enough. I can handle losing 1-0/2-1 if we'd have caused them problems, but we haven't in the second half.

Oh come on, expecting better than this is not expecting miracles.

It's the reality.

What else to do you want? We accepted this level as fans and as a club. If a United coach can lose almost half of his games and still remain as manager nothing much we can do as spectators.

Exactly. It’s on the players. They’re not good enough. I’m just tired of us being endlessly shit.

At the very least we should be able to play out from the back. Coaches have been able to successfully teach this even with average players

One thing I have to question Amorim on is why the feck he keeps playing Lindelof and Eriksen when they're leaving in June. Like, what are you expecting them to rip up trees with 2 months left on their contracts?

I dont get it.

It's very odd. They are not offering anything.

We expected to give them a game, rather than play at training tempo and walk though our midfield at will.
Formation and set up is wank and every team has an easy ride just Newcastle are clinical.
Because the squad Ten Hag left is horrific

Performance still matter. Calling it a meaningless loss is sweeping it under the carpet.

Zirkzee being out is worrying for Thursday

If he goes out on Thursday I'm not sure where my head will be at. We sit 3 points from being the fourth from bottom side. He's coached us the majority of the season and if there was a capable side in that bottom three we'd be going down.
Well there's not, thats why they're the bottom three.

I’m not sure this is going to work.

Reset this reset. It’s going to take too many players for this to work. Then the question is does it even work with the new players.

Let's be fair, granted I expected us to give them more of a game but our squad is the pits really. I don't see the point in playing lindelof or eriksen anymore. We may as well play kids if we're going to get tanked anyways. I am still going to avoid giving Amorim too hard a time this year because he's been given a raw deal structure wise, but he should be showing more intent to win at least.

If we carry on like this next season I'll be hoping he's sacked by Christmas. He's had the luxury of being given a free pass this season, despite his record so far being atrocious. Very few managers at a club as big as United would get such a luxury. He simply has to turn it around next season, no excuses

We had Valdes as well no?
Exactly. I mean I would take all our #2 GKs over the last 20 years to the current lot. We have the worst recruitment team in all of Europe and I could do a better job of it based on just FIFA ratings.

I’d have to put Fernandes as the striker. It’s far from ideal and we will be missing a lot in midfield, but he’s the only one who can score goals
Only one who can create them too thats the problem

:lol:100%

I swear, if they bring in another ‘physical’ player with low technical ability and zero brain cells like Dorgu, they all need to be sacked. Yes, he is 20 years old - but shouldn’t be in the first team.

With or without him in charge we are going to bad for a while because the squad is absolute shite.

I like Amorim, I think he has the character to do the job and he has shown an ability to turn around big clubs and win things so for me he still has plenty of time (even if next year isn't great).

The one question I would have for people who watched Sporting more was how they built from the back into midfield and forwards. I know we lack quality up the field but so much of our games seems to be the keeper and 3 centre backs passing between themselves with no options to progress from there and eventually getting pressed or losing patience and just clipping it, often aimlessly, towards the number 9. I'd just like to understand how he remedied that issue at Sporting because it's not good football and it's not good to watch.
