Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Bit silly, should have a manager for the whole season, although I could get on board with having to keep the manager for at least 3 gameweeks.

Yeah see if you run AssMan you cant play any other chips either in that 3 week window.

The scoring was very tactical too with more points for beating higher in the table etc.

I just feel it was TOO tactical this season but maybe they will tweak it.

How many points are you on as it stands?

Am always interested, as we had that poster the other year who sounded utterly hapless, getting everything wrong, yet had a surprisingly strong score!
Nah I'm actually doing shit 2065.

Would be 29th in my league of 111.

Though I wouldn't necessarily call my league brimmed with quality
It's not the score I'm annoyed by, it's the sheer amount of bad luck and the amount of good luck my rival gets that is pissing me off.

It can drive you mad.
I'm still traumatised by having Isak not Wilson a couple of years ago, where Wilson outscored him by about 40 points over a couple of game weeks, ruining the end of the season.

Decent planning!
But what's done us done.

Who are your 6? And do you have 1 or 2 freebies?

To mitigate the risk prioritise the 2 most nailed, highest ceiling attackig players. Then you could get away with it with 8.
Burn, salah, isak, flekken, cucerella, faes. 1 FT and no other chips. I'd take a -4 maximum to minimise the damage

So as I'm not gonna FH next week who are the ones you'd stick in for Sarr and Mateta?

Mbeumo seems a no brainer. Fixture proof and their fixtures aren't that bad anyway now. Elanga or MGW maybe? Mitoma possibly?

Wolves have a great fixture against Leicester so maybe one of Cunha or JSL for Mateta but then do I want to hold them until the end of the season? Old favourite Chrissy Wood a better shout (even if not for 34 in isolation) with Forest still competing for Europe?

Wolves realising our attack don't warrant fielding a goalkeeper against, and leaving Sa out just to feck with me, stings a bit.

Not on FH this week either. Saving it for another week.
Already have Mbeumo. Thinking of looking at Cunha, Kluivert, and wanna see how Forest get on tonight.
A Forest midfielder or Chris Wood could be an option. Probably best to target players/teams still with something to play for.

Yeah agreed. Title and relegation dead so got to look at those European places for players.

Preliminary FH team

Leno
Ait Nouri, Semedo, Estupinan
Salah (C), Palmer, Luis Diaz, Barnes, Murphy
Isak, Cunha

Sanchez, Wood, Cucurella, Robinson

Some cocnerns over Barnes/Murphy , a fear that Gordon could come back in so if I change it's probably there first. Iwobi, Mbeumo, Semenyo, Bowen, Kluivert candidates.

Might well start Wood over whichever midifeld change I make if I do that.

In turn that that would all free up a spot for a third Newcastle player and I'd 100% bring in and start one of their defenders.

Went to bed with a Forest cleany seeming inevitable.
Wake up, Sels concedes late on, then gets booked. Doh.

If you’re not using FH this week, how many players you have playing? I was tempted to save it as a curveball but I only have 6 players playing - 7 with the FT.

My league leader who’s ahead by 20 will no doubt use his this week.

Will have 9 playing using 2 FT. I’m happy with that. I don’t think it’s a good week to use it, not fussed on the matches. There’s other blank weeks/potential DGW coming up.
It’s team dependent of course.

I’ve been playing my own game this year ignoring the YouTubers and the herd and I’m doing well. Mbeumo got me 18 points this week, none of the FH’s this week had him.

Yeah that's 2 weeks in a row now Forest have blown a clean sheet in the last minutes. Coincidentally since I brought Milenkovic back in for Gabriel I'm sure.

When are the other blanks? I didn't realise there was another FFS!

Thanks. Sigh, didn't realise 37 could see a blank too

37 hopefully won’t be too bad of a blank. I think people should worry more about 38 which could be chaos with rested players etc. I’ll be aiming to get in as many players as possible from teams that will still have something to play for hopefully but right now it’s literally just the European places up for grabs.

This is why I'm keeping FH up my sleeve. 2 above me in my ML have used all their chips and have 7 players this week. I've got 8. Fairly sure my main rival who's 18 behind will FH next week as well so hopefully that puts me in a good position if I can get through with 10 out and a -4.

The advantage that FH people have is that they can bring in players for one week who they don't want to carry (like Wolves bums) and I have to take a more pragmatic long term view. Also worried that any Forest player I put in has a chance of getting injured in the Cup game which takes place after the GW has started but before they play Brentford. Not ideal.

With all this Cunha stuff being so out in the open is there a chance that he gets benched in the coming games as well? Pretty obvious he won't be at Wolves next season and they are not in danger of relegation any more.

Until something’s a actually signed, I think it makes the most sense to play him to up his price.

Edit: hmm I forgot he has a release clause. Maybe it’s not too farfetched to see him rested a bit, but he should probably sign for someone first, still.

Same here. Got BB left too. Plan is to save up transfers for potential dgw36 then free hit in 37.

Playing 8-9 players in gw34. Eventually most will have the same players here.

Yeah with BB36 in mind we want players who play in 34 but have a good fixture in 36 as well. Wood and Mbeumo stand out to me.

Yeah that end of season part is always an utter crapshoot, isn't it?!

Totally agree. And/Or Cunha - he could become Wood in GW36 then if Wolves have no DGW.

The worst part is, whether to gamble on who wins the FA cup fixtures or just save up transfers.

I got Savinho, and he's a nightmare whether to stick with him due to good fixtures (and DGW36) or swap him. It's just that he has little end product/no big upside like the other potentials.

It seems like a lot of players will have a semi-week squad for GW35, so anyone who'd be a good punt for both 34, 35 and 36 is what I'd choose. But I can't really find anyone where all 3 fixtures are great.

Yeah I don't know what to do with Savinho either. Don't really fancy anyone else from City even with a double unless Haaland is back by then. O Reilly is getting a lot of games and making Gvardiol a shitter pick at the same time which is just great.

Bored so brought in Mbeumo and Wood already for my Palace bums. Feels good to be Palace free. Taking a risk with no Wolves when everyone else seems to be tripling up.

Also worth considering a free hit in GW38 just to be the most differential. GW37 is a bit meh with Leicester meeting Ipswich and Everton vs Southampton, so there's no easy victims to target on a free hit there.

Yeah I'd love to go into that last gw in contention with a FH in the pocket still. We usually get early team news as well so you'd definitely have a big advantage.

No idea what the best outcome is tonight.

City - Gvardiol, Ruben Dias, Marmoush (C)
Villa - Konsa, Rogers

It's not just the points they get but how many own each. Maybe a 2-0 Villa win with a Rogers brace would be better than a 1-0 to City with a Marmoush goal? Haven't got a clue.

Suppose I want a least one team to keep a cleanie. 0-0 might even be best of all.
