Rather than looking at his xG, I would look at what he brings to the team in term of creativity because what Cunha is good at actually his technical ability such as his closed control, good in tight spaces, dribbling, and a ball carrier.

You’re either being ironic, or you’ve lived under a rock for the last few months :)

Chelsea have a penalty clause of a measly £5m if they don’t follow through on the obligation, and Sancho seemingly hasn’t shown enough for them to go through with the signing. Doesn’t seem to be decided yet, but it feels likely that we’ll see him back when his loan is up.
No, neither, have you seen any reliable sources stating that Chelsea have actually considered paying the £5milliom fee instead of signing Sancho for £25million? except for rumours on fan pages there hasn’t been any serious talk from any respected sources.

I am a hard no on this signing. How do you bring somebody into the Manchester United spotlight who absolutely lost it wanting to fight players, managers, trainers and I don't know who else.

He wasn't angry, he completely lost the plot, after getting sent off for throwing a player to the ground a few weeks before.

Players will get under his skin, get him sent off, refs will have his number - he is way too volatile a risk to put a £60m bet on.

Well looks like it's very much on, so hopefully he can prove you wrong when he signs. I can understand the concerns about his character though.

No you’re right, they’ve only reported that the clause exists. I was however responding to you’re statement that he’s “going to Chelsea for £25m” when that’s not at all certain and I personally don’t feel he’s done enough for them to do it. Then again, it’s Chelsea so who knows.. one can hope!

Yes they’ll probably end up paying double because they just love doing erratic weird transfers. Give him an 8 year contract too.

*The first part is a joke.

I understand all your concerns but maybe the club/management thinks we can channel it better? Tired of us having pansy players, we need fighters, I like aggressive players and so does Amorim by the looks of it.

Of course, you need to be smart about it and not let it harm your team.

Good player, flair and skill.

I’d imagine he will be playing AM, a player who can actually dribble and progress the ball.

How much are we paying? Hope we try to go abit cheaper.

Probably why Keane, Rooney and Cantona all flopped here.

He didn't channel it in the right way of course, and hopefully he has learned a big lesson, but we need fight and grit in this team.

Mbeumo is another one whose goal tally flatters him a bit this season (and that's even when you remove the 5 penalties) but I think he's a much more well rounded player than Cunha. I can only imagine he's simply not interested in joining us.

You able to offer any suggestions on which player we should actually sign?

Yeah, keep them type of players away from our club.

On a more basic level, Mbeumo tends to play on the right doesn't he? Whereas Cunha is a right-footed player who tend to favour the left. It might simply be the latter profile fits our needs better.

I would see him as a more direct threat in a front three anyway. Would prefer him to Cunha.

Haven't watched enough of Mbeumo to say. Cunha carries the ball forward well. So does someone like Eze. Hows Mbeumo in that respect?

Leaning towards Cunha purely because I think he has a bit of an x-factor to him. Eze is good too but he's not as much of a goal threat.

I don't think Mbuemo would be as good a ball carrier as either, no. Though, I think that Mbeumo's off the ball runs could complement either well, as well as stretching the play for Bruno to get more space. I suppose a lot of this depends on where the manager sees Bruno playing next season. Is there enough threat in behind defences with an attack of Cunha, Bruno and Delap? Are there enough goals there?

I would have Eze too, but don't think the club would go for him.

If United want to pay me to join their analytics team, I'm open to offers. I'm not sure I fancy the job security though.

He's a really good player and instantly improves us.

I just inherently worry about spending over £50m on anyone nowadays. Have we ever signed someone for over that amount who has been an unqualified success? Leny Yoro excluded as it's too early to tell with him.

He's lazy, seems to have an attitude problem and his xG stats scream one off season. So of course we'll be spending 3 times on him what Cherki costs.

What are his perceived attitude problems?

Is it indiscipline or laziness or what?

Is it actually true or a false perception?

What did the add-ons bring it to?

Think it was around £65m, but who knows what they were or how many he hit... he almost certainly ended up costing over £50m, but I always just look at the initial fee. Otherwise Antony Martial also cost like £60m (and didn't he have a Ballon D'or clause or something?!)

This is exactly the type of signing I want to see United making currently. We've been taking far too many gambles for a club that needs proven goals/quality. You take gambles when you're back where you belong.

Yeah, fair enough. I'd argue that the likes of Rooney and Ferdinand were similar or higher fees relative to the market at the time.

His attitude issues are that he gets angry fast and loves a fight with opposition

People born after 2005 call it stupidity, and people born before 2000 call it passion

both are probably wrong, so you're better off asking people born between 2000 and 2005

This needs to be nipped in the bud on this forum & I’ll keep repeating it every time I see it. Cherki does not have a £25M release clause, it was a gentleman’s agreement and it was for January only. Cherki will cost a lot more than £25M in the Summer.

Wouldn't expect it to be too much over, Lyon need the money bad, they don't have any cards.

The problem with Cunha is I don't think we can sign him AND a proper #9 who will score goals, and we need the latter way more.
