The window doesn't open until July 1 afaik. So any signing made between now and June 30 won't actually be effective until then anyways. So if you can't write a signing down until you have use of the asset, then you literally can't sign him before July 1

The window opens early this year from 1st to 10th June and then closes for about a week before reopening
 
Really excited by this signing. Amorim’s system desperately required ball carriers and Cunha is the best in the business at doing it. His output will also massively improve us next season. A great start to the window when confirmed

Would be smart to add teammate Semedo to the team free transfer and a massive upgrade on Dalot

I’ve not seen any evidence of Cunha being an outstanding dribbler never mind “best in the business.” He looks downright awkward at times.

Definitely. Squad depth if nothing else. Just improve our squad options and make our floor higher.

There’s a difference between being a great dribbler and a great ball carrier. Cunha can bundle his way through with power and using his body, yet he’s not a technical dribbler like say a Dembele. He’s still no slouch technically, but he’s one of those players that just seems to still have the ball when he’s ploughed through a few defenders.

Is it really much of a compliment to say an attacker is a great ball-carrier ? This isn’t a holding midfielder we’re talking about or even a box to box. His being able to effectively run with the ball in transition should be a bare bones minimum as an attacking player.

Yes it is, not all attacking players are great at it. It’s not just that he’s effective it’s that he’s excellent.

And then his decision making and output is also outstanding (this year anyway) Really surprised at the negativity.

Seems he’s passed his medical and has now signed
