The same issues were there under Ten Hag. Perhaps he would have improved but we couldn’t take chances and couldn’t defend prior to him being sacked.
Exactly. As I’ve said before, some people have short memories. It was six months ago tomorrow that he was sacked.

We literally have no choice to play him because we’re desperate for him to get some confidence. We can’t play anyone else upfront in the Europa.
He could play 100 games in row, he isn't getting any confidence because he is simply shite. There is no upside in playing him

Most PL teams this season will have done the double over Man United and let’s be fair Amorim been the coach in both games!

What’s it going to take for fans to turn on him completely, a 65% loss rate, I genuinely think that maybe only Europa Win can keep him in the job, SJR is there today and he’s not stupid you can’t lose 12 PL games out of 23 matches, win 6 and keep your job as Man United Coach?

Hojlund with 13 touches that half.

Lowest in the match by some distance

Two mediocre teams in action, level game would be fair reflection to how that half was played out. The ref one of most clueless I've seen this season and that says something.

I miss Zirkzee, we really struggle to build play without his strength in there.

No more so than any praise. It’s all done in the heat of the moment. Might as well shut the forum during games.

Thats what this thread is there for. Those other threads were only knee jerk reactions. They're rightly off during games

Remember when the common refrain was "we can't sign the far more technically gifted Alvaro Carreras because he's 'slow'".

Meanwhile Dorgu has absolutely zero acceleration and hasn't beaten a man since he got here.
Yeah. Concerning that even with apparently the best in class in Wilcox and Omar we still seem unable to unearth a player even half decent

It's very concerning that we haven't improved as the season has gone on. I wasn't expecting miracles but it's alarming how steep the decline is
Away to Bournemouth and we have 20% more possession, more shots, more shots on target, more shots blocked, more corners. We were clearly the better team in that half and they scored from a silly error and deflection.

To say we haven’t improved is daft. We just don’t have any quality up front to make the difference.

Lots of United fans are obsessed with pace and strength. Mind blowing.

He's a 20 year old brought for £20M. There's no way he should be any more than a back up LWB, yet he's starting every week.

I'd have Amass and Dalot both over him on the left. He honestly looks hardly a footballer. Our recruitment is absolute crap

Why are we going to give Amorim another season? This is absolute garbage, the worst many have seen in their life time. If we don’t win Europa, there is absolutely no reason to back him next season.

At this point the biggest mystery is why I continue to watch. Never thought I’d get to the stage where I wished I could break the addiction, but here I am.

I don't understand how anyone can be remotely happy with what they're seeing from us at the moment.

We're struggling to create anything in open play. We move the ball at a snails pace. It's awful. People are treating not shipping 20 a shots a game as progress.

Even Bruno has lost the adventure in his game and is playing like a five a side player. We've become an absolute nothing team.

I wouldn’t say anyone is happy. But most are at least realistic about where we are as a team. Amorim has signed one player really.. the players we do have don’t really fit any system at all.. I’m not sure what anyone realistically expects us to do at this point.. we’ve sacked off the league, and I don’t think anything will really improve until next summer when we’ve had enough time to bring in enough players to make a difference.

It’s the constant of yet another manager wanting their own players even if what we have in place is better, said ever since we played with wing backs that Amass should play more and if you compete Amass and Dorgu performance wise it’s clear Amass is better.

It is not about wanting their own players, it is about wanting options. We had no LWB at all before Dorgu. Amass is 18 and had not even played a match bedore and him alone would not be enough. Amass will need time, physically he is still bullied a bit.

He will be given the summer and start of next season which is fair. If we start next season like this he will be gone. Not sure how difficult that is to understand but here we are.

Games like this is where our physical inferiority is apparent. We're so slow both physically and mentally. We'll never press like Bournemouth have with the players we got. Our slower players need replacing and our young players need growing up before we look like a competent PL side.

In terms of overall play we haven't done too bad. Reminds me of the last game. Clinical finishing being the difference between the sides. I think we'll get some chances in the game due to how Bournemouth play but whether we can take them before we get done on a counter is the big issue.

So the problem is the recruitment, not the manager. I dont pass the blame of Dorgu to Amorim, he is one of many signing off on the player.
I'm also fine with Dorgu if we are signing a LWB. It's a key part of the system and Amorim needs to realize that it needs to be a high priority along with attack.
Dorgu is the LWB, we aren’t going to buy another one and it’s quickly becoming evident that he isn’t a top 6 player.

So ridiculous that we're going into next season with the same manager, planning to sign players for a formation we've clearly shown will not work.

We’ve done ok. Unlucky to be behind but aside from Garnacho it’s hard to see where the threat is from us

Uh huh it's so daft to say we've not improved. Guess we're just unlucky to be 14th

We made that mistake last season. And that was with a much better performing manager.

    The players are crap.

    But so is the system.

Anyone who thinks a few signings is gonna have us playing good football is off their head.

There isn't a single advantage that it gives us other than an extra CB

    - Harder to play out

    - Easy to press

    - No overlaps in wide areas

    - Isolated front man

    - 2 man midfield getting overrun

    It's crap

I'm not a big fan but I'd love to know how people think Conte won the league, Tuchel won the CL, Alonso won Bundesliga playing 3 CBs. Napoli, Inter...

It’s not his team? Why would we get rid of him when he hasn’t had any time to get his own players in? Not even a single Summer window. Ten Hag wasn’t given a massive amount of time, but he had 3 Summer windows where he signed absolute shite so had to go. Unless you think Ten Hag bought brilliantly and Amorim has to go as he hasn’t got these brilliant players playing well?

Kind of a strange half. 0-0 or 1-1 would be much more reflexive of the performance imo. Once again, they've had 1 shot and have 1 goal. Last match it was 2 shots. Only conceding a single shot on target in a half should be good enough to get us results, but we are definitely a bit cursed.

I'm fine with that not being a red, but everyone knows if that is a United player it's a red all day. I also see the two Maguire wrestling matches and think back to Rodri's 'penalty'...we just never get the 'luck' from refs these days.

What we need in some damn control. Bournemouth's press is good, but it's so obvious the solution is to have one more in midfield to create triangles, not force the wide players into bad situations like the goal. Yoro, Shaw and Maguire and all good enough to step into that space more, but for some reason we tend to just have two of the CBs next to each other, being redundant.

So sack the manager and no new signings in the summer then?
This should fix everything, this same team was 8th last season. So with a different manager next season and no new signings, we'll probably be 10th, specially with no European competition. Which is much better and also pleases many people in here.
