WSL fantasy league | Flexo's Fantasy Femmes - Champions

Well. What happens now? I make it a tie.
Since you asked ... here is the relevant section of the rules ...

In the (unlikely but possible) event of a draw the match will be decided by a) Captain's points, b) VC points, c) GK points. Then I'll toss a coin

You had Bright (14pts), Phallon d'Or had Terland (4pts). Congratulations ... you are in the Final!

Phew. By the skin of my teeth and thank you for the relevant section of rules I obviously had not bothered to look up and read. My bad.

The Demon Super Cup

GW19 - Semi-Finals - Results

Phallon d'Or (56) v (56) Scanny's XI

- Scanny's XI go through on the Captain's points rule - Bright (14) v Terland (4)

Flexo's FFs (47) v (54) TheDemonBarbers

Well, what an exciting, nail-biting couple of semi-finals. Phallon d'Or seemingly had very little chance going into the final match of a very long GW19, but their three Chelsea players scored a very impressive 29 points to level the tie at 56 - 56. It took a penalty shootout for Scanny's XI to triumph, thanks to Captain Bright's 14 points v Terland's 4.

There was drama too in the second semi-final. TheDemonBarbers took a huge gamble in not selecting any Chelsea players, but they somewhat surprisingly came from behind to snatch victory. Flexo's Fantasy Femmes can consider themselves unlucky that Ramirez did not feature, and Kaneryd, when introduced, had chances that she could not convert. So ...

GW20 - The Demon Super Cup Final

Scanny's XI v TheDemonBarbers

See why I had to warn people about Demon's form at the start of the season just being a ploy.

GW19 Review

This week seemed to last forever! Well done to all teams for a very strong league performance. 17/19 teams scored well above the average weekly score of 35 points.

Congratulations to Little Moo's for top scoring with a very impressive 61 points and moving to 7th in the table. Other climbers this week were Phallon d'Or, The Phallon D'Or and Dot's Stars, so well done to those teams as well.

The race for the league title is hotting up. With only three games remaining, Flexo's Fantasy Femmes hold pole position, but Tooney Town edged a little closer. They remain in second place but the gap is now down to eight points.

Matches in GW20 are on Sunday and Wednesday due to Chelsea and Arsenal being involved in the Champions League. United v Chelsea will prove tricky for player selection, but who cares? Come on United!

Hmm. Another tricky selection week.

Maya and Phallon have been the foundation of my team this year. Chelsea, City and Arsenal have some big points scorers. Injuries and fatigue are making match selections even more unpredictable.

Whatever combination of guesswork and judgment you use, you're running out of time to make it count. Based on my past performances, personally I do better with guesswork.

At any rate, the crunch approaches. Fortunately (for me) the deadline is so close that judgment time is very short.

At any rate - it's time to update your team. Or not.

It is a tough one this week, however, despite the fact that we are playing Chelsea, i have remained faithful to my United trio who have scored over 300 points between them so far. Plus, they are pretty much guaranteed to start. A clean sheet and a win will do nicely, thanks.

I've made my two subs, so that's done. My only real quandary is choice of captain.

I will not catch you or Flexo, but I have a certain Cup Final to consider v @Scanny .

Edit: Please tell me that Scanny has used her Triple Captain, Bench Boost, Wall and that free-hit transfer thing!

GW20 - Talking points so far ...

The top scorer in the entire game has scored 106 points so far, thanks to somehow having triple-captained West Ham's Martinez (72pts.) Nobody in our league was so lucky.

Flexo's Fantasy Femmes stretched their legs at the top of the table, Tooney Town are playing catch-up, and Scanny's XI are the only risers so far.

There are still two important games to go, and most of us have 6 or 7 players still to play, including captains. It's still all to play for.

In The Demon Super Cup Final Scanny's XI have a 27 - 20 lead over TheDemonBarbers.

Cup final still in the balance, who knows who will start for Chelsea or Arsenal - players rested or just too sad to be included?
Happy with my random West Ham pick, could have been better but whoever captained Martinez must be delighted!

Oh I’ve used all those things and I’m regretting my captain/vice captain picks too.

I genuinely hope you win with a Maya clean sheet. Forget the FF ... this is about United. Come on!
I’m really hoping for a sad and flat performance from Chelsea after their WCL chastening but fear we might get the backlash.
Hoping I’m wrong.

Really could go either way - but I have no Chelsea players in my FF team so it’s all or nothing for me!

I've got 8 players in action tonight - 2 from Chelsea, 3 each from Arsenal and United. Our run-in throws up some really wild choices for RedCafe FF players.

I'm focused on making sure I've got zero City players now as I'd sooner they get zero points from here. Adds a little extra spice to the mix for sure. Hard to run a team without City, Chelsea and Arsenal players though!

Three United, two Arsenal and one Chelsea for me. Russo as Captain though - no idea if she'll play. Like I said to Scanny - the FF is irrelevant at this point - the important thing is that United get the points.

Just seen I had Williamson as captain. Oops. And no Russo for you all either, it will be one or two players that decide this week - and the final!

GW20 Review

Theres not a lot to add really - no change to the top three. Theres a good battle going on for fourth place as both Boujee Tea and Scanny's XI scored well and have broken the 1000 point mark.

Impressive scoring from Dot's Stars (59) and I'm Sorry Nic Jackson (57).

The real news, however, is ...

The Demon Supercup Final

TheDemonBarbers (37) v (48) Scanny's XI

After the disappointment of last night's United v Chelsea result, I am pleased to be able to bring a bit of joy into Scanny's heart. Many congratulations on a fully deserved victory. I believe their manager said that she never wins anything, well ... there ya go! Picking Asseyi was an inspired choice.

Delighted.
Still sad about that game last night but this has brought a smile.
Asseyi was a punt that really paid off. Cheers all that played.

Hard to get much from my big players this week - too many from United and Arsenal. My bench players did better than my lineup - I'm particularly aggrieved about not playing Hanson.

Captain Russo was a lone bright spot - her scoring a consolation goal for Arsenal suited me from a FF and a League perspective. More of that sort of thing would be welcome.

Next batch of matches on Sunday. Whether we'll hear any injury updates I don't know - though I suspect they won't help me even if I do hear them.

Congrats to @Scanny
Commiserations to Demon.

The Cups were a great idea.

Thank you. The cups were a bit of fun.

Same again next season, beginning with GW1 that will feature The Charity Shield -
League champions v Scannys XI - an early opportunity for meaningless silverware, but, it's for charity folks!

... and, @Lobster11, I expect you to be in it!

Count me in already.

GW21 Review

United came back from 0-2 to draw with City and secure CL football next season. That's the only thing that matters, but, as this is the Women's Fantasy Football thread, I suppose I'd better write about it.

Big players failed to perform. Big teams leaked goals. Captains didn't deliver. And all that made for a pretty underwhelming GW for most of us and nearly half, unusually, scoring below the average of 28 points. The two teams in 1st and 2nd will be disappointed with their tally, whilst Zebra United and United Army at the bottom of the League both scored well - 44 points each.

With only one game to play, Flexo's Fantasy Femmes remain in pole position, but anything is possible. Can Tooney Town find that secret weapon that will propel them to the title? Can TheDemonBarbers remain in third spot and hold off the late surge from Boujee Tea FC, who top-scored this week by finally using their Bench Boost to reduce the gap to just a single point. Good scoring also from Phallon d'Or (46pts.)

The third and final piece of silverware will be decided next week. How exciting!

Utd vs Arsenal doesn’t really help with defensive choices for me, but city are away at Palace so that might be a good place to look. Only two free transfers, and I don’t want to spend points on more changes. Tight at the top, and the chasers are doing better than me.
Anyone with any boosts left?

Also villa vs West Ham is going to be 5-5 based on recent form!

My form had dropped off a cliff. But as a lot of that is due to erratic form from Arsenal, City etc it's hard to care about that. The rest of it, of course, is me attempting to choose the team based on what I saw on the telly last week rather than what the raw FF points form says.

As for next week - I've got three Arsenal players and three United players so rational planning is out the window.

I think United will score, so McCabe can do one. As for the rest, I have no idea. Chelsea have won the league but want to go unbeaten. City play Palace but their season is already over (ha) so no idea what their lineup will be.

GW22 - Super Saturday

Good morning everyone, and firstly a huge thankyou to all who have given up their time to participate - particularly to those who have regularly posted on here throughout the season - especially @jojojo for his meticulous reminders of deadlines, fixtures, injury concerns and regularly updating the thread title.

So, it's the final day of the season and it really is still all to play for - well, apart from relegation as Roboklopp was relegated ages ago by virtue of his mysterious disappearance.

Can Tooney Town, league leaders for most of the season, find their form again and clinch the title? Or will Flexo's Fantasy Femmes continue their good run of form to be crowned champions?

The final European place seems to be between TheDemonBarbers and Boujee Tea FC, with only one point separating the teams.

As for the rest, it's all about pride. The top ten positions remained unchanged last week - can anyone gain that coveted green tick today?

Anyway, less than 4 hours to go to agonise over team selection, so let's go! Good luck to all.
