    For real??
Hes defending a 3-0 away lead. We have to keep it tight, not his fault the players are bottling it.
The message is clear when he sends out such a defensive unit out there at home with a 3-0 lead, no belief in his and players abilities must be a confidence booster that. I thought Jose was a coward but so far Amorim is beating him to this crown

Underserved from Bilbao to be winning but damn we like to make things difficult for us. So many stupid mistakes and misses.

Well that was poor. You can sense the nervousness in the players,, messing up simple passes and in Garnachos case clear a 1-1 with the keeper chance.

We have to get better. The pressing is half hearted. The attacking is sloppy. Final balls dreadful.

Can we survive this without scoring one? Maybe. Are we going to concede another goal? Absolutely.

    Plenty?

Who are these 20 year old or younger wingers that are better than Garnacho?
This week we saw Barcola, Doue and Yamal also miss big chances.
Young player missing a 1v1 against the keeper, what a shock

He’s a frustrating and inconsistent 20yo who still finds a way to be somewhat productive

Shouldn’t be behind tonight. It was a wonder goal but it was a rubbish clearance that created it. At times we’ve threatened but at other times we look like we can’t string two passes together. Need to do far better in 2nd half to see this out, we have to score the next goal.

Perhaps not the most original thought here, but for the money spent, our players should be capable of performing basic technical football actions to a higher standard consistently (Hojlund general play, Garnacho shooting, Dorgu crossing, Onana saving)

He sets them up to defend with 7 players, that’s on him, no more excuses for Ruben if he screws this up tonight he can go!

He has no experience of managing an elite Super team, none whatsoever!
    Elite super team!

This coach radiates negativity your 0-3 up and he plays 5221, Jesus surely we can’t let this continue next season, we just can’t keep this guy next season, their whole attacking Unit has not travelled, I’m genuinely starting to detest our coach, go 3421 attacking kill the tie, he’s playing to try and not lose 0-3 seriously we need to bin 5221 system or bin Ruben, someone at the club needs to tell him 5 defenders and 2 CDM’s can no longer be tolerated at old Trafford ever again!
It’s getting harder to defend him for sure. It’s the sloppiness too. Just kind of inexcusable.

Yup, and it’s not just his terrible first touch, it’s reaction to his shit first touch. He just stands and throws a strip and makes no effort to win ball back. Is fecking kill him if I shared a dressing room with him.
That’s if he even gets close to the ball, most of the time he’s busy wrestling with a different CB while the ball goes elsewhere.

    Shouldn’t be in a c
Dorgu is so bad. Shouldn't be starting for us next season.

He shouldn’t be starting for a championship team and we dropped £30m on him, I’m so fed up of our recruitment nonsense, Ugarte not much better he can find a pass to save his life!

Not a great half but I don't think we deserved to go into half time being 1 goal down, we have had the better chances and should have scored at least 1 goal. Dorgu's been our best player by some distance, constantly gets into good positions.

What does Ugarte do? About as impactful and memorable as Schneiderlin.

Also Harry. Thanks for reminding me why its never really worked out with you.

Onana plays testimonial quality football. Everyone knows he’s not going to reach it but it’s good to see him try.

I'm in his camp. But I did take issue with him saying he felt we needed to score in the press conference. It was mostly negative. Next season he'll need to be bullish and back that up with bullish performances. Those are my expectations anyway. And I expect the hierarchy to get busier than ever before to address squad building this summer.

With Garnacho it's so frustrating, because he actually has decent movement. I swear he has missed 10 absolute sitters this season.

The hope i have for him is that when he emerged he was actually very good instinctive finisher. Hes overthinking everything now and hopefully it turns but as you say hes there working hard and getting chances. Hojlund though is a non entity

I’d take any money for Garnacho. I’ve always said it but there is no way he will be a top player.

Only positive is I think we can score on the break and if they get another we then might start to play. We just have no confidence to play unless we have nothing to lose.

Changes at half time , Amad to run at them Maybe . Put Mainoo up top take Hojlund off ? I don't know . Probably no changes ..

    Plenty?

Who are these 20 year old or younger wingers that are better than Garnacho?
Who said anything about wingers? You mentioned his age.. age is not an issue here. It's his finishing, dribbling and decision making.

I am nervous too but lets be real; we were better team. Garnacho was 2 times in front of keeper, we had 3 on 2 counter where Hojlund fecked up, we had two Dorgu chances.

They had one chance in the beggining and one wonder strike where Maguire and Onana fecked up.

    Garnacho again, FFS.

I like him as a player but this is getting unbelievably frustrating now. He could've put the tie to bed there.

They look crap but we look scared to go forward. Show some backbone and put them in their place, they're naff.
We’re playing the way we did in the second half of the first leg. Forgetting that we are now back up to 11v11.

It’s not good enough. I get not wanting to go gung-ho but doing the polar opposite and still managing to act like the ball is a hot potato makes no sense. We get the defensive fragility that a gung-ho approach would give us anyway.

Maguire with pullee his signature brainfart, Dorgu ha several dumb dcisions (not th smartst player) and Garnacho ,issing a one on one. It should be in the bag anyways.

Its a mentality issue for sure. Amorims words of treating it as a 0-0 is not taken to heart for sure. If so we should come out guns blazin’ in the second half. Still think 1 goal from us at this point will be decisive.

Nah, nah, I recognise the couple of passes he's made where we should have scored. He also should have found two players (the shite cross that was headed and his effort where he could have laid it on a plate for Hojlund). I just don't see a player in him. As I said before, I hope he improves exponentially in a short space of time.

I'm happy he's creating decent chances. He's a young lad, he's going to cock up chances too, kids are inconsistent that's kind of the point. Personally i've been pretty happy with him so far this season, some good, some bad but he actually had end product. We just have a very, very, very frustrating set of forwards.

Amad on for Mazraoui, please - for a bit more attacking intent and to protect Mazraoui who's on a yellow.
    Good suggestion.

Decent half but a bad result, unfortunately. Garnacho had to score and even before that if there was better decision-making in final 3rd we'd score 1 or 2. Maguire's mistake enabled them to score definitely.

People will get on at the performance and the manager but as usual, a good goalkeeper and a good CF and we're 2-0 up here.

It was a good shot. Not every goal Onana concedes can be easily saved. We've also been piss poor, losing 50-50s and have been sloppy in and out of possession. You're lying to yourself by simplifying things as you have

    Amen Pope Leo

    Two solid chances:

    - Garnacho gets the ball from Bruno, but his first touch is awful
    - Three versus two, but Hojlund couldn't either shoot or pass the ball. Instead he lost it.

    Plus Garnacho's chance.

We are screaming for a proper striker.

Mainoo instead of Hojlund sounds like a better option in the second half for me.

We have a really poor attack. This cannot be emphasized enough. Get some better attacking players and we will see a huge difference.

    And also a better keeper.

Nervous second half if we concede early. Don’t get why the passing is so bad on professionals that get paid thousands. Sunday league players pass better
